In a perfect world, the topic would never arise. In our world, this removes the unwinnable battle over who "should" be responsible. Hubby will never tale responsibility. I think he has aged out of the ability to demonstrate personal responsibility and entered some new phase. It's kind of sad, but this is practical and peaceable. All is well.

Leaving for Canada early morning tomorrow. African Lion safari, Niagara Falls, and downtown are on the list. Hotel has a kitchen so would be convenient. I go crazy without my tea and homemade food.
Came back from beach trip on Sunday night. Baby girl had a birth day and turned 3. I gave her a small trampoline as a gift because she likes to jump. Been trying to get as many shops completed before work starts back next week.
I made hibachi (chicken and shrimp) for dinner and it was delicious!
For the second time, FedEx has lost my work phone. Since I am without a personal phone, I have no means of communication (or GPS) from my car. Tomorrow is a WFH day.

Lovin' The Big Sing. This big and wonderful music seems to be the only thing bigger than the itching of my skin as it goes through its processes. At least the pain spots are down to three and those are dissipating. Meanwhile, I wonder if they would let me live in Royal Albert Hall... well, maybe not. Someone wisely puts these events on Youtube for people like me to enjoy from anywhere in the world. Bless them. !

So my playlist last night began with the big music in Royal Albert Hall, wended through other arrangements at other venues, and ended with lovely holiday standards from the mid-century. Nice! I noticed numerous other videos that i will watch in future.

IT said it will be delivered today by 5pm. My personal phone, which I returned on Monday, should be here tomorrow evening. We'll see!

Spent some time online getting reviews (from many sources) and very specific pricing for a big move away from Verizon in September. Actually, in August, I will move my phone service to Consumer Cellular. I do not use a phone for email or for entering reports, and I can save quite a lot by this move.

In September I will "cut the cable" ditching Verizon Fios cable for UTbeTV plus a couple of other special services like BritBox and Roku options. (I also have ton of free movies through my local public library, of course, and a lot of "vintage" PSB programming that is free with a contribution of $25 per year.)

Finally, I will move my high speed Internet to Infinity's 1200 mps service which costs the same as Verizon's supposed "gig speed" service that actually is a bit short of gig speed!. We need high speed to support all of this streaming.

A friend who is expert in the art of surviving "cable cutting" will be here for a week in September so that we can get this all up and running perfectly before any housemates declare civil war.

When this is all accomplished my costs to be "connected" will drop about $175 per month or more.

Busy day...I did 4 shops! Muffin, who is fearful-agressive and about 80 lbs. goes to the vet tomorrow. I have the sedative medication ready. Praying all goes well.
Enjoying MasterChef Colombia. Too fun when the blindfolded contestants taste the sour fruits. grinning smiley Yesterday, we drove into nature, found some shade (shade blessed shade!), and I thoroughly relaxed. Just opened the car, put the seat down, and relaxed. Simple pleasures, haha. If we can go early enough on another day, I can try a few steps on an easy trail before it is too hot and I am too tired. Hubby can go farther if he wants to do that.

Recovering from my day of trail maintenance in the heat and humidity yesterday. (+27° C) Hot for me.
Lamenting all my procrastinating as now I need to clean and tidy whole house before guest arrives mid morning ish. And prepare food.
Off to pick Saskatoon berries first, for dessert

~~Hugs~~ to you and Muffin!! I understand completely about the fearful-aggressive dog!! We had to use the "chill" protocol for our dog Abe recently, giving him his "chill" meds both the night before and the morning of, along with a bit of tranquilizer the morning of. Plus, we got the first appt of the day with the vet, so nothing else could interfere before our appt time. And the vet tech was AWESOME!!! What she did was stand behind Abe while holding a leash in one hand, and one of these large plastic dog collars in the other. And then within about a minute to a minute and a half, she had that dog collar on him. Then she hugged his neck from behind and the vet gave him a shot in his back thigh muscle that put him to sleep within 10 minutes! It was great!!! Hope things go as well for you and your fur-baby!!

A shopper buddy and I are taking an MSC area manager out for lunch at a great local deli. This is a very use-friendly MSC, lol.

Weeding, weeding, weeding. Oops, nope dashing to get clothes off the line before the rain gets heavier!
House work.
Making progress on setting up a complete home energy audit and assembling needed documents to apply for a MD State Grant to subsidize HVAC system replacement for moderate income homeowners. My whole HVAC/heat pump system is practically an antique. I could not afford to replace it without this program and it is on its last legs. Many thanks to Honny for sharing what she had learned about this program. Love the state of MD !!

I got my phone! YAY!!!! It was delivered on Thursday evening. My work phone will be delivered next week sometime.

Today is a much needed mani-pedi and a trip to Aldi or maybe Trader Joe's tomorrow.

I made a delicious dish in my crock pot yesterday. Chicken thighs, olives, capers, tomatoes and tons of garlic. It was very flavorful.

There. Have completed my first gig in weeks. If I feel certain about the short on-site for another assignment, I will complete that soon. There are so few assignments that I can accomplish just now..... so I do other things. Today, I will watch a new-to-me Brit series that hubby found on DVD and focus on stretching and whispering soothing words to my back. (My current project prep involves numerous things that must be relocated to a work space that is more convenient and comfortable for my back.) Meanwhile, it is sunny and cool. I wish it could stay like this all day instead of becoming hot later.

Wedding rehearsal dinner tonight. Two weeks early as the wedding party is so spread out logistically. DH and I so enjoyed observing our lovely young ladies. Our hearts were bursting. Fun party too.
That sounds wonderful, Madetoshop! smiling smiley

The loveliest thing in my world just now is hair up in the messiest way which, in a perfect world, will somehow become that easy breeze wavy summery look tomorrow. No error about the apparently missing commas, though. They lent their shape to the hoped-for hair waves, haha, and could not be in two places at once. Seriously, now. It is lovely that birds are chirping, sun is shining, and I can be indoors instead of outdoors in too-hot heat. It is lovely that i have shed thirty five pounds and am on the right track for continued weight loss. It is lovely that hubby is mastering some of the minutiae of housework. He no longer glares and accuses me of being Torture Meister, Perfectionist, Control Freak, and Weird. He is adjusting to the general flow of events that are governed by apartment complex hours, logic, and energy.

Church this morning....The spending/spent the rest of the day getting organized to head back to work.
Put my daughter's trampoline together last night....proud myself for thatyawning smiley)
Got back from Canada yesterday. The 8 hour drive was too much so we split it by stopping in Michigan for the night on Friday. Saturday Chicago traffic was brutal but still made it home on time. I was surprised by the number of Tim Hortons in Canada. Every street you turn into, there's a Tim Horton. If you can't find a washroom, ppl would point us to go to Tim Horton.
School reopens on August 17th. Getting supplies ready. Happy that my mint survived our vacation and is flourishing.
Errands. Recommending a youtube video featuring Kathleen Battle, Frederica von Stade, and Winton Marsalis. Their 'Go Tell It on the Mountain' is fabulous at any time of the year! Organizing ingredients for a new-to-me (actually, made up by me) modified Asian recipe that I will make tomorrow.

Today is my first day off by myself since my boyfriend moved down here before Christmas, so I am doing exactly nothing but being lazy and having a few cocktails.
