What are you doing today? (besides shopping)

Brightening our world: getting rid of stuff, cleaning my car, and catching up on little things that were not accomplished last week. Stayed up all night to cook and binge-watch season 1 of Crime Scene Kitchen. Season 2 will air sooner or later. Sooner would be better. Can you say, what is the date on the chocolate?

Brightening your world sounds lovely @Shop-et-al.
Glad you are feeling better.

I missed my soul restoring hike with friends as I just didn't get moving after a bad night. Planning to go for a paddle instead. Closer to home so takes up less of the day.

Thinking of my 67 year old friend who is embarking on a 3,000 km cycle today! Maybe I'll do a cycle instead.
Shopping on line for a robot vacuum and hoping that when it arrives I will be able to set it up properly. I may have to move/store or get rid of a lot of "stuff" to make this really useful. Stay turned.

My LG phone is reaching the 2 year mark. When I bought it, I got an additional year warranty from LG. This was when they were competing with Samsung. They offered to replace the phone. I asked for a new battery. We'll see.

Since it's Father's Day, after church, I cooked up Sunday dinner as per hubby's request: ribeye steak, mashed potatoes, corn on the cob, and peas. Dessert will be later on, when we're not so stuffed! .... Lemon meringue pie, which I made last night.
Binge-watched two seasons of Glamour Puds yesterday between loads of laundry and other little tasks. Must sort socks today.

Feeling jittery. Tomorrow will be my first mammogram. Just waiting for the results is going to make me anxious. I was looking at a youtube video where someone was saying deos could increase the risk of breast cancer. Thinking of making my own deo. I don't know but everything is making me paranoid. Does anyone here make their own deo? I got a recipe with coconut oil, baking soda, and essential oil.
It's important for you to get your mammogram. I'm 69 and have been getting them regularly since I was 40. I believe they have contributed towards saving my life, when I was diagnosed with breast cancer in 2013. Yes, you may feel some "squeezing" pressure when they compress the tissue area, but it doesn't last long, and you will do fine!!
Today is "to-do" stuff around the house. Need to open the "cage" of a pedastal fan so I can clean the blades. Need to vacuum the pool. Need to make some homemade blueberry bran muffins. Might iron my skirts, we'll see on that one.
More of the same. A few errands, a lot of little tasks at home, and all the tasks of the healing process.

Early morning bike ride to beat the heat, and then....NOTHING until a dinner meeting tonight! It feels strange (and wonderful).

I caught up on magazine reading and did four months of bank reconciliations. Later in the afternoon I will savor my coffee over a crossword puzzle and maybe do a little house straightening.

Yesterday I went to Happy Hour with a friend from Book Club. Tomorrow, I have a 10am energy audit. I'm taking advantage of state grants to replace my HVAC system.

Worked. Was annoyed by some co-workers. Discussed food menu for our annual 4th of July shebang. Cleaned and am now ready for bed.
Hah. Part of the healing process was to go to the mountains, take a nap in the shade (because I went spontaneously in flip-flops), and make a better plan for the next trip in a few days.

I haven't been able to open my windows since I bought my house. I asked one of the Energy Engineers when they were here earlier how to open them. I now have fresh air blowing through my house. It feels so good!

After my trip to the gym I had to make myself a little more presentable for a banking shop. (My standard outfit is a sports bra, t-shirt and Lululemon shorts.) Drove to a far corner of the parking lot and swapped out the t-shirt for business casual, and slid a denim skirt over the shorts. Just like that I was 'fancy'.

Went in for a mammogram early in the morning and it took less than 10 minutes. Got my results in 4 hours and they were normal. The report said I had dense tissues like 50 percent other women and they advised me to take an ultrasound with a mammogram for next year. I am thinking of getting it done this year after I ask my gynae what she thinks about it.
Sorted and organised the tool cabinet that is always a mess, courtesy of no prizes for guessing who!

There. A few tasks and errands are finished forever. I set up my work area for tomorrow and am eager to find out how much I will accomplish without the distractions that went away today. All is well.

@Mum, so proud of you!!! Now you know what to expect, and I'm thrilled that your results were OK!!! The anticipation of the unknown was probably magnified way more than the actual procedure!!
A skirt is the best for changing in parking lots, after hiking/kayaking, etc

Up to contend with the leg issue. It is so much better overall! The last few patches are taking too long for my comfort and clothing. And my face has the dry, flaky stuff everywhere. I am not fit for public viewing yet and am avoiding all work sites until my skin is intact and healthy.

@guysmom. Thanks! I was thinking the results might take some time but they were so quick. The dense tissue thing which I read is quite common makes me think I should get an ultrasound too.
I was actually telling the tech about how you have been consistent with your mammograms and how a diagnosis saved your life and she said well, if all of us could be diligent like that, more lives could be saved.
Mum,
Proud to have you in the "club." Remember, looking out for your health is part of cring for your family. Big hugs for your courage to begin.

Hubby and I went on a road trip. The first stop was at a library/museum. The second was supposed to be a Mom and Pop olive oil and vinegar store to stock up on balsamic, but there was a sign on the door when we got there that said that due to an emergency they would be opening late. With the 90 extra minutes to kill we visited the statue of Robert Wadlow, the world's largest man, got coffee, and visited an antique mall.

Rearranged the order of closet events. Removed shoes, including a heavy shoe rack. Had to talk the back through that and whisper it into sweet, deep, gentling stretch. Watched Play the Flute and will re-watch Mr.Church.

Pick up wine and Rx; quick stop at grocery store for 3 items that I missed on yesterday's visit; research switch to Consumer Cellular; post more Freecycle listings; nap; kp, fold and store laundry.
