Put together an upcoming gig day. Foot/leg mystery issue is abating, and I might be able to wear normal shoes again soon. Enjoying a spate of movies about fake information (among other things). From killer cheerleader moms to snarky office mates and all the way into an oddball private school, these characters are showing the downside of tech. Cell phones might be the new guns. Bwahaha! Yikes!

Waiting until 2 pm, since that is the time that I will have my in-home health checkup done by the nurse for my Advantage Plan coverage. Costs me nothing, and I will get a $50 gift card for having it done! (Hubby had his done yesterday...his Advantage Plan is only giving a $15 gift card....shows how each plan sets up their own benefits!)
Hah. Picking up my car from the repair shop soon and taking it for a ride into the mountains. I don't think we can get very far because of road opening dates, but the real benefit is wide open spaces. This is always a healing event. for me. If I could be a tiny blot in vast open space and thrive there, I would be in heaven on earth. Mmmmmmmmmmmm....... More practically, I need the car for gigs.

I invited Hubby to come with me for today's shops (three USPS and a Five Guys). My car wouldn't start again, so we moved over to his car for the day. It was nice to be able to fill out shop forms while he was driving.

My appointment at the car repair shop isn't until next Wednesday, so will have to figure out how to get by without one for that long.

@KathyG: We are sort of the opposite. We can drive hubby car only so far on its older tires before parking it or replacing the tires. I do not want to buy him tires (he does not have money for this), so we need to have my car again. I only want enough gigs to replace money from my talking head job until my voice is strong enough for a complete shift.

Grade 4 today and strolled through the little local shops in the small town where I subbed.
Clean one car thoroughly, inside and outside.

No one called me to substitute. So, clean, unclutter and organize entire house and yard. Lol. Lol lol
Sometime today hubby and I will attach the hoses to our above ground pool. We got the pool 21 years ago, when our son turned 13. It still has the ORIGINAL liner in it....somewhat wrinkled now, but still the original liner!
It is a dark and stormy day here, with possibility of large hail and tornadoes. So, not leaving home. Was able to get permission to transfer a "weekday only" shop to Tuesday. That scheduler also grew up in tornado country, so immediately understood. My other May shops can, and will, be done on the weekend.

I stupidly left the house without listening to the weather alert that came across my Echo. I was in Aldi when the sky opened up. The middle aisle had some stuff on clearance. I got some beautiful knives and containers for some dry goods. And a lot of snacks. I stayed in there so long, the rainstorm turned into a light drizzle.

Road trip. Long story, there. Bottom line: I got yet another pair of larger shoes which accommodate this oddball foot/leg thing. It was abating until suddenly, yesterday, it worsened. I know what it is and that it will eventually dissipate. I am on the way home and having fun. Fun is good.

In the morning we took a bike ride. Stopped at a remote control track and watched the cars flying over the dirt hills. In the evening we went to mass, dinner, and an outside art show.

Happy Feet aren't just for penguins anymore.... grinning smiley I am loving my new-to-me cross trainers. In my hobbling desperation, I was ready to go to any place that would take a credit card and pay any price for any shoe no matter how expensive it may be. Fortunately, we went first to thrift store because of hubby's hobby. I found these big, comfy (but never worn) things almost immediately. Yesterday, I met my walking goal. Today, I am already halfway to the goal. All is well.

Congratulations! Take note of the brand/size for when you need to buy the next new pair.

Morning walk to take advantage of deal on coffee. Back at home, house stuff, computer stuff, paperwork stuff until we leave for a barbecue later this afternoon.

Bad night's sleep. But got up and joined my hiking group for 10k. Some household stuff after.
Hope I sleep
Memorial Day. So meaningful. Selah.

On Wednesday AAA jumped my car, and suggested I get it looked at. The first appointment was in the middle of this week. Today I had to have another service call, and the technician told me it was the battery. He said I could fix the issue by getting a battery charger and using it, but I told him I preferred to get a new battery. Fifteen minutes later the battery was put in. I celebrated by doing a produce run :-)

It is "supposed" to rain today. I love rain. According to the National Days list, tomorrow is 'say something nice' day' and Saturday is 'black bear day'. My teddy bear is a black bear. He has his own day. ! Tomorrow, I will say something nice to him about that. I will use nice in the evolved sense and say something kind. It would be nice to leave the original, unflattering meanings of the word behind.

Grade three at a different school. Visited great butcher shop in that town. Stuck on couch now lol
Hey everyone! Finally out on a small summer break -- before summer school starts. Time flies when you have free time. Last week 2 YO DD and I had the flu...feeling better now.
Super hot and humid here today. Quick, early trip to bank and grocery store. Then lots of paperwork for property tax abatement for moderate income seniors, laundry, seeking Task Rabbit for assembly of kitchen cart and installation of kitchen light fixture.

Still waiting for the last replacement tax doc (so we can file an extended return). On behalf of hubby, I sent an information request and hope to learn something/receive his 1099 soon. Just a few tasks. Yesterday, I did my periodic 'one easy gig day replaces one week at talking head' thing. Today, I am feeling it. I am much improved but still need lots of downtime. I get to binge-watch baking competitions and combine walking with house tasks. Somehow, it is more or less efficient, ridiculously fun, and extremely relaxing. All is well.

No one called me to sub. Yay!
Relaxing, extended coffee, now going to unclutter, clean and organize entire house and yard. And do yoga and go for a long bike ride. Lol lol lol

At least maybe, I'll get off the couch and do one thing.

The weather here is coolish.
I had already started preparing dinner when a Five Guys scheduler made me an offer I couldn't refuse. Tonight's dinner will now be served tomorrow.
