What are you doing today? (besides shopping)

Taking my cat and my son's two cats in for shots at the vaccine clinic sponsored by my husband's credit union. Hoping I don't have any issues with the kitties.

Up early because this is comfortable. I found some interesting movies and am watching, working out, and hydrating. Still waiting for enough voice to return (I need to work for money). Hoping that all the moms and kids survived their versions of Mother's Day. Happy, wistful, bittersweet, wishing, hoping, missing.... there is something for many people.

Last week, I dyed my jair to cover my multiplying greys. I didn't like the end results. It looked like I dipped my head in black paint. This morning I used ColorOops to remove the black. I ended up with a stunning, rich brown that I will never be able to duplicate.

Loving other voices (I still croak, when I can utter something). Just now, I am re-watching Pie in the Sky. I am wondering if the entire world should be like Henry and Margaret. At most, they issue a mild "Maaar-ga-ret" or a benign "Hennnn-ry" and punctuate this with a between-marrieds look that speaks volumes but does no harm. Would we all be better behaved if we behaved more like Henry and Margaret? Anyway, I started looking for recipes such as Henry's steak and kidney pie and one thing led to another and never really stopped, and I now have a long list of savory recipes to try. Dingle Pie, anyone? I have an apparently unique gooseberry recipe, and I am not sharing that! Not that anyone would want it... grinning smiley

I bought some pork sausage links from the market. I have all the ingredients for sausage and peppers, so I will make that dish soon.

Laundry done. Baking chicken thighs to add to the sausage and peppers. Finished watching Downton Abbey.

Nothing, really, Unless you count another wild goose chase, the end of which was hubby was given a means of verifying checks from scammers (or anyone) and he pouted for an hour and swore that he will not spend any more time running around trying to deal with these checks. Other than that.... I found a few new-to-me goodies on Acorn TV.

My kind of morning: sunny and cool enough for me.

Nearly enough voice for a little gig day, but not nearly enough for four hours of talking head. So today I am looking around for one, just one more, teeny gig that would make a little road trip worthwhile. Wish me luck!

So it is the season of graduations. In honor of this, I changed my siggy. My dad said something like this to me when I received my first degree. It was the best remark ever!

Yesterday, I was not able to cobble together a sufficient gig day but I had an enormous amount of fun at home. Today will be even better, I think.

Two days ago I got a letter from the State Employment Security department regarding unemployment I received back in March of 2020. I didn't know I was also getting a partial payment from the Census department for some of the weeks, and voluntarily paid that back. Now SES is questioning two weeks when Census operations had been suspended, so I have to wade back through all the paperwork and find documentation to send them.

Listening to oldies. How did I miss some of these songs!?

I had on the local "oldies" channel the other day and realized that they're now playing more songs from the '80s than anything else!

Truly a day in paradise. Breakfast at the mountain condo with friends. Skiing with Hubby, now heading to supper with a friend from high school. First time she's been home when we've been here to ski.
Finished binge-watching Top Chef Just Desserts and now am watching old episodes of Top Chef Masters. The most annoying thing? "Elevating" food does not hoist, levitate, or make a recipe better. It merely insults a known recipe and promotes a different recipe, which involves at least one ingredient in common but may or not be "better" than the hapless discarded one. Gah. The best thing? The personalities. What they all do with the range of givens and limitless imagination is fascinating.

Summer is on the way! I love how this shows up in my place with more and more daylight. I like it so much that I changed my siggy as homage to pleasures of reading in daylight.

A front came through and the record-setting heat left with it. Today is a lovely day to be outside. After a trip to the gym Hubby and I ran an errand, then walked to a nearby Mobil On the Run C-store and took advantage of the cheap drink promotion since the Cardinals scored more than six runs last night.

A wonderful hike and lunch with highschool friend. Heading to hot tub with Hubby.
Waiting for the birds and roosters to wake up.... and multitasking.

Workout and new-to-me Brit series. So far, so good.
