What are you doing today? (besides shopping)

Seems pretty common. My Delta Dental MN also only pays our 1k/year. With the cost of the premium it's almost just pre-paid dental services.
I don't pay anything for my premium. Like all of us on social security, just the Part B premium is taken out of my social security payment. But I don't pay any other premium price. Not all Advantage plans have a $0 premium, but this one does!

Thank you. Tomorrow is day 5. Meanwhile, if you can tell me where there is, I will be so thrilled. I hope it involves naps, focused workouts, and time for me. With each passing day, my back seems to ooze all the strength and energy I needed for the job (and had after a few days off of work), and I come home feeling more and more like a wet noodle. I think I am getting that elbow macaroni look, too, because as the shift progresses and my back gets tired, I sort of hunch over to stretch it. *hobbles away to look at posture in mirror; hopes there is no noticeable dowager hump back there*

Back in the late 90s-early 00s I worked for an insurance broker. For most of his clients the standard dental work payment was $1,000. Seems like it should be time for an increase.

Today Hubby and I walked in a nature area owned by the Botanical Garden. When they purchased the land almost a century ago it was a significant drive from the metropolitan area. Now it's an exurb.

I had a free oil change at the dealership.

Yes, that may very well be true!! However.....last year, when I was with Cigna, they only offered $750.00 max in dental benefits. To me, I'm just thrilled that I have $1000 with Aetna this year! I'm grateful for what I got with this plan, for sure!

This day stretches out in front of me, inviting me to stretch all the way out and into it. Mmmmmmm....... aaaaaaaaahhhhhhhhhh....... I love days like today! I do not have an overloaded schedule, everything I do will have a noticeable impact, and if I just need to take a nap in the middle of it all, it won't matter. In fact, I will get the sleep that I need when I need it. All is well. smiling smiley

Sitting at home, waiting for a call from our mechanic. Took our car down the road to our mechanic this morning. Four years ago, we had to replace one of the coils on cylinder #4, because it was misfiring and had gone bad and was causing the car to buck. At the time, there were also 2 other cylinders misfiring, but the car didn't buck once that particular cylinder coil was changed. Well, it's been bucking off and on since January, not constant, but enough to be aggravating. So, it's getting all the cylinders checked again, plus having the air and fuel filters changed if dirty. It's been 50,000 miles since those two were changed out, so it may be time for that. Our car is a 2003 Crown Vic, with 241,000++ miles on it. We take good care of that baby!!
Trip to the gym, then took vehicle in for state-mandated emissions inspection. I have until the end of April to get licensing taken care of.

Sorry to vent again. Went to work today to find out my coworker who is the only one who keeps my sanity at work is quitting. F***. I really need to redouble my efforts to find permanent employment in some field that relates to what I used to do in life when I owned a business with my parents. That and everything that is going on with my dad has me really feeling incapable and overwhelmed. I've been really feeling down and I don't know where to go or what to do.

I had a late shopping day due to my car being in the shop for maintenance. While I waited, I made some snacks in the oven. Fast forward, I return home 6 hours later and I left my oven on. 400 degrees!

Yes, you do. You come here and vent. We will listen (read) and send socially distanced and otherwise appropriate cyber hugs. We will not command you. You are in the right place.

Music. Errands. Look for diy haircut kit. I need a visit with the groomer, I mean an opportunity to try to cut my own hair. What's the worse that could happen? I could need a salon visit anyway? OTOH, I have a lot of hair and if I start small, I might become good at this before becoming bald.....

Oh my, Honny! You sure had a warm house when you got home, I bet! Hope it was all OK!!

Today, I'm just going to get our taxes done online. We haven't gotten any refunds or paid taxes in about 10 years....but I file out of habit! Using Credit Karma again.
Volunteer shift at the cat adoption center, then home to do grocery shopping. Made an event out of Hubby's first retirement anniversary with a card and a small present...a set of house keys so he doesn't have to carry his huge car fob with him when he's out walking.

I got a beautiful piece of art on Freecycle. It has minimal hanging hardware. I picked up a 50# picture hanging kit on my shop today.

I picked up some elderberry green tea (yuk) and some Earl Grey black tea (YUM).

I am 30% prepared for my first diy hair trim. I got the official scissors. Now, I need the official comb and a diy system for the straight line. As I sort stuff I find things that can be used as is or become part of my little experiment. If they work according to hypothesis, they will have a new purpose in life (support the straight line, non-politically, haha!) and I will have a way to trim my hair when I want to do it and not according to typical salon hours. This would make life better and, after one or two successful diy trims, cost nothing.

@HonnyBrown: did you the hardware shop with the big bonus?

I am on my last day of vacation in the mountains. Looking forward(not) to 12 or so hours of driving tomorrow.
Friday morning meeting, then a walking trip to the bank for cash. This location does not have a walk up ATM, so I stood behind a car until they were finished. Watching a stream of people come to take items from a unit in the building. The owner is moving to an independent community out of state and is taking very little. Based on what I've seen, her unit must have been crammed. Tonight taking carry out orders at the parish fish fry.

As a moderate Trekkie I can't think of Earl Grey tea without thinking of Jean-Luc Picard (the Patrick Stewart character).

In the new Paramount+ reboot of Picard, they are in an alternate universe... he was served a cup of coffee to his utter distain.
Yesterday went to the nursing home after my morning re-employment class.

My dad had his 2-week evaluation. It's just daunting to see what a grasp dementia has taken over him -- his evaluations show that he's at the point where he may soon need full-time support. The staff earnestly feels that they can get him to functionally improve more over the next two weeks -- at this time they aren't even considering discharge.

I probably should have gone to work after the nursing home and lunch yesterday (since it was month-end and quarter-end) but I just didn't really feel like it. Needed some time to be with things.

Went back for a full day of work today. Managed to pound out a fair amount of paperwork and get a bit caught up. Not sure where I'm going to be next week with all this once my co-worker leaves.

Partner delivered DoorDash for dinner tonight since lunches haven't been as busy as they were the last time he dashed as a primary source of income. He just got home around 8. Dinner's in the oven. Back to work tomorrow. To the nursing home to spend the day with my dad on Sunday so my mom can go to work.

Got a lot of things that aren't getting done -- taxes, planning, job search steps from all these seminars I've been going to -- and I need to get them all in the same place so I can plan to get them done. Can't believe it's already April. Where did the first quarter of 2022 go?
After some horrible long regrettable Coyle paperwork it was nice to take my kids up to a construction site to look at the heavy equipment. They love the “articulated dump trucks.” I needed the walk too. Too much mystery shopping food lately.
We should be so lucky. Our oven stopped working months ago, and we are trying to locate the stove number so we can get a new heating element. Mind you, the oven never worked properly, for whatever reason. Year after year, the annual dressings and other baked foods would be half baked. Even adjusting racks and temperatures and turning the baking dishes during the process never fixed the problem. For now, we are becoming reacquainted with our microwave and all its potentials and hoping for a new heating element that will work properly. For giggles, I checked the oven dial. It will light up and turn to any temperature it can reach. It just can't heat up because the heating element is gone.

Meanwhile, I am still awake because I want to finish a few more things before we go to mil. If we go now, we travel between severe cold and severe heat. My car's heater still works but the air conditioner has stopped and needs expensive repairs. I changed my siggy because of this visit. She once said that she did not like to live near other old people because "they were... old!" (I also changed the April 1 siggy because in my world, it snowed. No flowers dancing with the snowflakes, eh? So that was a silly April Fools' thing.)

@SEA, do you mean by "locate the stove number" that you can't find the model number? Or a phone number for a supply store?? If model number, try googling the make and see if a photo comes up that will further lead you to a model number. If by number you mean phone number, if you have the oven make and model number, have you tried looking for one on Amazon?? Just an idea or two here. Hope you find one soon!
It's a beautiful afternoon, but I have a scheduled volunteer committee meeting :-( At least I can crack the window open and feel a little bit of the warmth.

Making good use of my preferred hours. It is only five something a.m. and I am up, happy, hydrated, worked out, and working on the current project. All is well. Eventually, I need to stop what I am doing and go back to bed. I always need that all important nap before work!

I was a Trekkie when TNG aired new. I was in my first apartment. I tried Earl Grey and hated it. It was too strong for my taste. Now, I drink a few cups a day.
