I will admit I spent too much time watching those teachers trying to keep the toddlers in line. It looked like they were herding cats.

Too pooped to giggle. That is too funny, though. grinning smiley

I am down to the last five bins, numerous garbage bags, schlepping to/from, and final cleaning before upcoming inspection. What I need is to sleep for a week What I get is to sleep for two minutes, if I am lucky... with me luck...

Leaving in a few minutes to attend my breast cancer support group meeting. Then after that I'm getting my hair cut! Then after that, taking hubby to go pick up his truck, which had the radiator replaced....it's a 2001 Nissan Frontier....good truck and worth the $300 to get the radiator replaced!
So we had an impromptu, mutually agreed upon inspection today. We have made a great deal of progress and tptb are responding to issues that are within their realm. This is good, and everyone is doing their part. We also negotiated for additional time to accomplish certain tasks. The spirit is willing and the hands know how. The back is another issue and it just does what it can when it can. This makes some of the work creep along at the speed of molasses. Other demands, of course, are not feasible. For example, anything that is compliant with all laws but merely does not please someone, such as issues of design or lack thereof, will not be addressed. This cuts the work load substantially and almost makes up for slow poke I mean the back. All is well at this juncture.

Subbed at a Hutrerite Colony today. Difficult, difficult day. Glued to the couch, too tired to even go to another room to avoid watching hockey.
I vaguely remember subbing. It was an extremely long time ago. Some days were like sunshine beaming in a school. It sounds like your day was not the beaming sun sort of a sub day. Bummer.

I understand about the couch thing. After all the hoopla of the morning, I needed six hours to replenish myself before doing less than one hour of work in the evening. Mind you, that was effective and logical. It set up easy work that works around weather for the next few days. But six hours... oh, my... and now you know why it takes me at least six times longer than it used to, to get anything accomplished around here.

So it is Friday. Nothing too wild happening here. A little work, a little road trip, and a lot of sorting. The good news? Schlepping all this stuff is efficient. It is my current fave resistance workout....

No sunbeams for me yesterday. Today, I turned down work to avoid snowy roads. I'll regret that if I'm not productive at home!
Leaving with hubby in a few minutes to take the dog for his shots. He's a wonderful dog...UNTIL...you want to do something...anything...to his body....then he turns into a killer, haha!! (But true!). The vet is real good at getting the shots in, but then we have an angry dog for a while!
Signing off from work momentarily and await the crew. We are off to visit Mom tonight. She is preparing Eggplant Rollatini, Baked Ziti, steamed broccoli. She made Rosemary infused bread. We are bringing a Strawberry Shortcake and Apple Pie. Want to bring wine or Sangria but I will get in trouble for doing so. Furry Puppy going too!
Worked my butt off. Ordered Turbo Tax Premiere from Newegg.com. Did three loads of wash and have more. Vacuumed the sofa and furry baby's stripped bed. My brother called and I yelled at him for not providing all the tax documents I need from him. Looking forward to seeing my lovely Mom and siblings dear tonight.
Working at my church fish fry tonight. It is carry-out only and I am selling tickets for drive through.

"Never stop looking, for what what's not there." Late in my day, I am looking around at the ever-changing landscape of projects in progress in my place. On the way home from errands, I drove by a construction site. It looked like home. And I remembered this line from The Magic of Belle Isle. It always makes me think of an eons-ago job when I was hopelessly dim and nearly made trouble for someone I did not understand. Thank G for my supervisor. She had a steely pair and drilled me until I showed a few signs of life. Seems that the person with the paper-strewn floors and puppy smells had taken time to get someone to pick up the pooch and make a wee effort to deal with puppy's natural activities before driving themselves to the hospital, where they could finish having their heart attack without the added concerns about beloved pup. This movie came along decades later, but every time I watch I remember the old me, am grateful for present-day me, and am hopeful for future me-- lest I ever forget that today's mess might only be a bridge between yesterday and today or just the difference between what we think should be there and what is more rightfully going to be there. I needed this reminder today. I feel better now and can face the next round of tasks on the road to project completion.

I tried a beginners yoga class this morning. After 10 minutes I realized I was out of my league. I did a 30 minute walk instead.

Making cranberry/nut bread; Aldi trip; quick bank visit; working on separating trash from treasure in a very large room in my house before contractors can come to renovate for a new (yet-to-be-found) housemate.

Yesterday I pulled some useful office supplies out of the building's recycle bin...a three drawer paper storage bin, almost a ream of paper, a stack of folders, and an almost-full box of sheet protectors. Today will decide what to keep and what to donate/offer to Buy Nothing group.

Sorting and finding wonderful goodies! So satisfying. i even found something we had purchased in hopes of understanding hubby's late, alcoholic dad. Mind you, someone will undoubtedly point a finger and proclaim that we are suffering and therefore bad. But, no. We just want to understand what happened directly in hubby's family and indirectly in mine. Hmm. Can't sort things constantly so am interspersing the sorting with good old mysteries. Today, there are multiple Poirot and Marple episodes. I laughed out loud at myself when I realized that I am somewhat like Miss Jane Marple. We have the same ability to recognize who is who based upon whom we knew (or would have known in Saint Mary Mead). You recall last night's rant about a recent-ish movite, the old job, and current events. An actual Miss Marple would have figured it all out decades ago. But I am just a mere human who needs to learn constantly. Nonetheless, I choose to call this a gift. Bwahaha!

Wonderful weekend so far. Yesterday, I spent the day with all of my offspring looking for and trying on shoes for their Bridesmaid's duties. Nothing! They have to be comfortable and enhance the dress color. We can't get alterations scheduled until they purchase shoes. The MOH texted a few weeks ago asking for thoughts about the Bachelorette celebration. No one out of 7 answered except for my DD's. My SIL is furious. We bought ACAI bowls for lunch and called it a day. Today? Laundry and taxes. I am not going to cook or do anything else.
Went to an orientation for a cat rescue organization I'm thinking about volunteering at. My shift in their adoption lounge involved putting down food, scooping litter, and general cleaning. The two hours flew by!

After I got home I took a nice long walk and picked up a cup of coffee along the way. The rest of the day will be straightening up my own house and getting ready for the week ahead.

The recent snow still looks pretty in a few places. I just have more of the same: sort, pack, toss, watch whatever is known or suspected to be good/odd/surprising and/or just the right length to rest my back, and wonder when-- exactly-- we will finish all the odds and ends of foods. I want to go to the store and stock up for different themes! I will wait until there is space for all the ingredients.

8K of snowshoing in glorious sunshine. Great, but it was unfortunately plan B. I was supposed to meet a group to hike. Haven't seen them since October or November? But I did not find the right road until too late. Checked out trails in a Provincial Park I've never visited
We have options. As long as everything that happens away from home is completed today or tomorrow, we will back here in time to hunker down for more of the usual when it again snows. What we choose for today and tomorrow depends largely upon hubby. What will he prefer for today, and what will he want to do tomorrow? I have no preference. As long as the designated stuff is outta' here and where it needs to be before Wednesday's anticipated snow, I will be able to do more of projects. And... some things will never be seen or done again! !!!!! Ever!!!!!!!!!!!! *ahem* That is something to chortle about. There is no chortling emoji.

A Freecycler I get a lot of items from had a request for clothing and accessories. Perfect time for me to clean out my closets. One bag for the Freecycler and 4 bags for donation. I also did a LOT of laundry, including my bed linens and pillows. When cleaning out my dresser and chest drawers, I found the king sized pillow cases I forgot about.

Dropped off a ton of donations at goodwill; lots of other chores associated with clearing out the former room of my housemate who has developed dementia and is now in "adult foster care." He sister and I removed almost 50 bags of trash so far. More days of work before carpet can be torn out and replaced. Then, new flooring needs to be installed, bathroom floor tile re grouted, lots of stuff replaced before it will be ready to rent.

At this point in a project day, I am too tired to chortle. I am pleased with some parts of this place today. Somehow, we incorporated an unexpected influx of inherited plush critters and large plants. The critters came from family, and the plants came from long-ago neighbors who relocated. For awhile, the plants lived on furniture that the departing neighbors gave us (we are reasonably certain so as to avoid paying a fee to the landfill). We recently finished the job with that furniture and took it to the landfill along with other stuff that had been here too long. My back has nearly recovered from that heavy work. But I have earned the privilege of chortling! That is noteworthy, and it boosted me to that ethereal place where I can contemplate certain gigs again. The one I am inquiring about would make my back happy or at least not make it scowl, shriek, or otherwise complain. If I get the gig, I will change my project goals to incorporate donations. There are a dozen or so donation opportunities between here and there, and the weather there will be finer and more amenable to a huge donation task. Otherwise, all is well as in my world and donations will keep their scheduled place (a little farther ahead in the order of events). I love hearing about homeowners who do the junk pickup shops and those who participate in the various free giveaway programs. I just like to give the stuff away to known sites when time permits and with or without shops.

WOW, Wales! That's a lot of trash to toss out from your former roomie! Sounds like you've got a lot of work to do in preparation for getting a new one!
@walesmaven, I am sure it is such a relief to get rid of all that stuff. Sending prayers for your housemate.

Due to the park road not being plowed yet, I had to park at the gate and I didn't get as far as the parking lot to see the trail heads, pic-nic area, etc. I did find a nice trail to snowshoe and plenty of animal tracks. No animals.
I did encounter others snowshoers. I found the road signs difficult to follow, and would have a hard time finding the park entrance again. That's unfortunate, but good to know.
It was a great, sunny, mild day for exploring.

It was almost 80 degrees here today. It came along with a wind advisory.
