What are you doing today? (besides shopping)

Comcast is done and I am fully wired. I have free Netflix as well. I have rediscovered my love for tea. We had a severe weather alert. All that light rain melted the leftover snow.

I am up early to accomplish something before work and enjoy my favorite day part. So far, I have sipped lemon ginger tea, put away some of the dry laundry, and researched a money topic. Soon, I will need to stretch and move a little more vigorously. Happy Cheesy Socks Day, to all who observe!

Now that I've got new living room seating (2 love seats place perpendicular to each other instead of one long couch) I'm on the hunt for new side tables. One must fit into the 'square' between the love seats, so in addition to being the correct style it has very specific size and shape requirements. The current styles I've seen in furniture shops don't do anything for me, so I've been to multiple thrift stores, antique malls, and consignment stores. Nothing yet, but the fun is in the hunt.

I went to the Home Show yesterday. I looked at so many recipe websites this morning, I lost my breakfast appetite.

After four consecutive shifts at talking heads r us, I needed to sleep until noon today. I have two more consecutive shifts, which will satisfy two weeks of scheduling. I could crawl back in bed and stay there until next week! *eta omg. That was only three consecutive shifts. Tonight is the fourth. If feels like I did forty shifts. gah, back to my regularly scheduled post now.* I found an intriguing movie and am looking for the historical fiction book behind the story. Wish me luck!

Happy Sunday! A pleasant day here... I feel like I'm catching up with my long list of to do things for around the house. I was finally able to put together my patio swing that I ordered over a year ago. Yay me! I feel like I could put anything together now. The rest of the day will be getting ready for the work week. I want to be asleep by 10:00 and up at 5:00 sharp - no snooze button.
The author of a blog I follow asked for volunteers to read a draft of her latest book, a memoir of a man at her church. It's only 180 pages, and I'm halfway through. Got so caught up in the story that I'll have to go back a second time to look for spelling/punctuation/syntax errors.

Just a few things before the nap before work. It is day five of six consecutive shifts. This is necessary because there is a small run and road trip of merches when those materials arrive later this week. I must complete the minimum number of expected shifts at the one job before then. With any luck, the last location leads more or less directly to mil and a quick visit there. With weather conditions, the last location will lead to home, laundry, warm shower, and cuppa.

Waiting for our plumber to stop by in an hour or two and check our hot water heater...I think it's getting ready to die. On Saturday, I noticed some dampness in the pan that the heater sits on. The heater is almost 16 years old, so it's been a good one. It's a Rheem. The crazy thing is......to actually GET to the heater, we have to clear our half our master bedroom closet to access the panel that lets you actually walk into the small space where the heater is located. Although it IS visible from the laundry room...there is the metal grill that is removable in front of the A/C coils, so those can be checked. And once that grill is off, you can see the hot water heater standing next to it. So Saturday, for some unknown reason, I decided to shine a flashlight up and down the heater and saw the dampness in the pan. I guess it was meant to be! So I reckon we'll be replacing it in the next few days or so.
During our walk this morning we made three stops-a local grocery store, a post office to drop off some letters, and an Aldi. Came home and set up shops for tomorrow and decided to complete a USPS today. Packed boxes. After the shop I stopped by a furniture store to look at side tables. Learned that the ones I liked would not be available until August and said no thanks.

This morning was beginner Pilates and a walking routine. I actually feel good!

I am working. Deep cleaned one bathroom and surface cleaned a half bathroom. Set up and turned on my Bath & Bodyworks Wallflowers. Smells sooooo good. No dinner prep. People are on their own.
Day Six. I put on my robin's egg blue sweater, hoping that this vague reference to Springtime would nudge me along and help me bloom for just one more shift.

Tidying house; more laundry; KP; Aldi trip; signing up for February parking shops.

Based in MD, near DC
Shopping from the Carolinas to New York
Have video cam; will travel

Poor customer service? Don't get mad; get video.
I did a 30-minute tough walk this morning on YouTube. I also cleaned up my kitchen.

Today I was supposed to work on my kitchen upgrade but my knees said nope not today Sis. smiling smiley Well this is a perfect opportunity to delete some of my stale mystery shopping profiles.
I knew I was driving partway across town to take advantage of a huge bonus on a car wash shop, but was surprised to have an apartment shop show up in my email. The weather was awful, so before the apartment I walked in a nearby Whole Foods. In between the shops I went back to the strip mall and walked in a Target.

I am reading more. I've revived my love for Danielle Steel novels since my Christmas gift. Getting more books from the library and reading. I had actually forgotten how much I loved reading. Danielle Steel is criticized for mostly writing "fluff" but I like her fluff.
I did not make it through Day Six. I had to cancel the longer shift and replace it with a shorter shift later. This is life with sometimes a whisper/sometimes a foghorn instead of a typical voice. On the brighter side, most of my merch materials arrived as planned and I will wait awhile for the others to arrive today (they were to arrive in two batches). I will bring what I have and stay close to my snail's pace itinerary. The brightest spot is little talking!

Well, tomorrow is the day for the new water heater. Got another one at Home Depot, and applied my husband's 10% military discount. It's another Rheem 40 gal. Our plumber is SOOOooooooo nice! He's going to pick it up for us, since hubby is 80 and I'm 68, & it would be kinda hard for us to get it ourselves. We found out the other day when the plumber was here checking on everything, that either we never had a pressure guage valve installed on our piping when it was first laid down 31+ years ago, or it's apparently well worn out, because when he was checking the water heater the other day, he decided to check our water pressure, and it's at 100 PSI!! He said it should be at 65-70 TOPS!! We haven't been able to locate any pressure guage, and the water company said that the people who laid down the original piping would have been the ones to install a pressure guage. So our plumber is also going to install one of those tomorrow, while he's got the water turned off.
My day started with a 7:30 AM visit to the supermarket. Loved it. It was empty and I had the entire store to myself. It did not get better. DD walked our POMSKI a few hours later. He loves other dogs and my DD let him get too close to a mean Akita. He bit him. $315 Vet bill, stapled wound, antibiotics and cone later he is good. Babying the poor fluff and DD is devastated and crying. Me too. :-(
Aw, poor puppy!

Today was a 20 minute Pilates class and a 15 minute walk, both on YT. I cleaned out one of my kitchen junk drawers.

MadetoShop, sorry to hear about your fur-baby incident! Hopefully all will be OK soon.
Thank you all. We love him so much. Two weeks until he gets the staples out. We have to give him antibiotics and clean the stapled wound with hydrogen peroxide. Amazingly, he is good with wearing that cone. Between us all, we take it off when possible.
I am having coffee, then getting dressed and walk down to volunteer for work on the ice castle. Winter carnival starts soon and they always have an ice castle.
I have been on the hunt for a side table to nestle in the square area between the two love seats. Today I found one that met the size and height requirements at the St. Vincent de Paul store. It was only $40. Came home and gave it a good coat of Liquid Gold and it looks like it just came from a furniture store showroom.

Now I need to decide what to do with the table on my side of the couch. The Queen Anne styling looks completely wrong.

Watching 'Restaurant Impossible" and wondering if this is real or an object lesson. Either way, it is instructive.
