What are you doing today? (besides shopping)

Lots more household tidying and cleaning. Trip to Aldi and to pick up pizza. Green Bay Packers game on TV tonight at 8 ! Yes, I am a Cheesehead!

Stayed up late for house tasks, St. Olaf stories (rip Betty White), and to make classic, spicy, citrus-y cranberries. Mmmmmmmmm! I just want to stand by the stove and breathe in that aroma forever! After a little paid work, I will use up all the odds and ends of breads that are cluttering the freezer and make the dressing that never got made at Thanksgiving, Christmas, or New Year's. In all, a quiet and fragrant day.

Trying to finish up last minute things around the house as tomorrow is back to work after our two week winter break. Good news is we will be virtual this week because of Covid spikes. Bad news is setting up my kindergarteners on Microsoft Teams.
Excited for dinner tonight which will be sponsored by one of my favorite shops!
A fellow Freecycler picked up a lot of my excess padded envelopes and some small boxes, today, freeing up floor space in the dining room. Floors in kitchen, half bath and 3/4 of office/living room swept, and all but LR mopped. Aldi had the elusive soft cream cheese, so tomorrow I will make a fresh batch of cranberry-walnut bread while we have a snow storm. (Cream cheese to spread on said delight, not to put into the batter.). Bedroom with private bath almost ready for guest who will arrive Tuesday evening. Bedding all washed and ready to install there. Two new Mexican style recipes discovered and ready to try out this week. (Mexican-style Shrimp Casserole and Picadillo, yum!) Greek pizza ready to bake for supper during tonight's football game. Arthritic fingers now declare the work day over!!! It will soon be wine-thirty here.

Tomorrow, excavate the dining room table; take pictures of more items and post them on Freecycle; finish main level floors; clear kitchen counter tops; watch the snow fall and stay off of the roads. Take a nap!

Up early; this is better in my world than sleeping late. A few errands, a little cooking, and a lot of cranberries swirled into plain yogurt will make my day wonderful.

It's snowing.

Well, my son, DIL and 2 precious grandbabies stayed an extra day, and left today around 6 pm for their drive home. It was so wonderful to have them here. It's so quiet now!!!!
Froze my butt off going and coming home from work. Busy day. Predicted snow did not happen, yaaaasss. Working from home for the next 2 weeks due to Omicron (shudder). Why not today as well?
Errands and a few house/organizational tasks. Yesterday, there were too many things to do. Today, there are just a few that will be done (even though there are endless things that could be done).

Today is the best weather day of the week, with temperatures in the 40s. I am heading to outlet mall that has store fronts open to the elements to pick up some birthday swag (Hello, new Vera Bradley purse!) and look for other items on my shopping list.

Working from home is the best. DD is at daycare and I've had a productive morning! Tired of sitting so I'm about to take a break and walk the dogs.
Got my hair cut today, and it needed it!!! It's been nine full weeks since it's been shaped up! Glad I got that done!
I love working from home! I save money on gas and laundry. I do my grocery shopping before work and other errands during lunch, so both are very focused and efficient. I do my workouts in my living room...love it!

Boxed up Christmas and carried it down to the storage area, then thoroughly dusted everything.

Searching for elusive marriage license. Unexpectedly, I needed that for a recent gig because equally unexpectedly I had an existing account in my former name. Many years ago, a person told me on the phone that the account was closed, or something. Too long ago to remember every detail of the conversation, and too few bucks to impact anything, anywhere. I just need to do something about it now and have incurred a canceled assignment with one of my beloved MSC's. Meanwhile, tonight I will try my first shift back at the talking head job after a few weeks away... hmmmm.....

I had ten minutes to kill in between post office shops so I decided to walk outside. It was COLD! After the last shop was done I drove to IKEA and walked through the store to get steps in.

I streamed "The Equalizer" last night and fell asleep. I tried to continue it today only to find out that Verizon no longer carries CBS. Something about a contract war with Verizon. I think it happens every year.

Snow day! Snowed in = a few tasks, a few movies, and a fave workout followed by a purr-inducing stretching session.

Early morning mystery shop date with Hubby, then later a trip to the gym for yoga. Only have half of my steps for the day. It's too cold to walk outside so will have to go to the mall or some big box store.

Some time in November, my MS spreadsheet crashed beyond help. I found an older version from September. I have been slowly bringing it up to date, one week at a time. It's a mind numbing task.

Worked. Went to a rare visit inside the bank and waited 20 minutes. They had 2 tellers working. One if them was P/T as she was serving the drive through as her primary responsibility. ATMs were not working. Took a 1.5 hour nap after work. DD made vegetarian Chile, yellow rice and a Caesar salad. Now i am messed up as i am wide awake and can't go to sleep. Snowing out. It looks beautiful. Our fur baby is going to love the snow.
Checking road updates. Fortunately, my scheduler is gracious and allows me to let them know when I can make the trip all things considered (roads, slower driving, and shop time frames). If I am at home, I am doing little house tasks and finding movies to watch between strenuous workout and langorous stretches. If I go, I will be all prepared with my travel kit: enough stuff to be warm, comfy, fed, and hydrated in event of lengthy delay.

Most of my USPS shop boxes get mailed to California. I can stay under reimbursement as long as I don't have to pay for a box. Today I was walking through Lowe's and found a basket full of small, sturdy boxes in the paint department. I asked if I could have some and left there with as many as I could carry. The associate told me that in that store Friday is Box Day, when they do a lot of restocking. I told him I would keep that fact in mind.

Missed the boat in the Famous person thread yesterday. I should have mentioned skater Gracie Gold. I finally got to see her recent comeback skate. Good for her! So today might not be about my upcoming trip to the Olympics (expected gold medals in procrastination and sinus conquering) but that is okay. There are a few one-and done tasks at home, a quick trip to the warm water car wash to unearth the car, and some of the never ending laundry. If all goes well, I will have time to start a book which can be finished tomorrow. Huzzah!

Here it is on a cold, sunny Saturday, just 10 minutes shy of 12-noon, and here I am relaxed on my couch, still in my jammies and robe, just thumbing through the Forum. True, I've got to get up and dressed later, and do my usual Saturday house cleaning, but it sure is nice being retired and (usually) not having to be on anyone else's schedule but mine!
Snow, but sunny and bright. DH and DDs shoveled and did my elderly neighbor's property as usual yesterday. Other neighbor who has 2 sons early 20s was out doing the same by his lonesome. Told my DH he should have had DDs, lol. Tree coming down and bay window lights. Outside lights need to wait.
Morning walk at the mall before it opened, then another (shorter) walk through the neighborhood after lunch. Zoom committee meeting in the afternoon. Found out some friends are coming for dinner next Saturday, so I started hunting through websites for recipe inspiration.
