What are you doing today? (besides shopping)

Re-calibrate after ridiculously long road trip. We left before 10 PM last night, returned home at 2 PM this afternoon, and spent three hours waiting for accident clean-up, or something, in the middle of the night. I spent less than that at my gig locations. I am watching a silly movie, doing laundry, and sorting more paperwork. *deep breath... the paperwork project goes away forever soon... breathe...*

Between sore muscles from a trip to the gym and a sore arm from Covid shot I'm a physical mess. Getting things done, but moving realllllllllly slow.

Worked from home. Just me and one DD. Did more laundry while having the laptop attached to me. I do not like Zoom meetings. Feeling a bit more relaxed. Our home is full of birthday balloons. Have 1/3 of 2 edible arrangements left. So delicious! Tonight i shall start Christmas cards. I only send 20 via USPS. Just to family and very dear friends.
Errands, sort stuff (the end really is in sight), and watch Classic Mysteries. First up is 'Dick Tracy Meets Gruesome' with Boris Karloff.

Took hubby to the drs because his eyes have been bloodshot red since Sunday night, and the eye drops I got yesterday at CVS did NOTHING to clear them up. I was concerned he might have "pink eye"....and guess what??? HE DOES!!!! Seems like when he first got sick with a cough and nasal congestion - but NO FEVER - about 3 weeks ago, it SEEMED to go away after about a week.....then I CAUGHT SOMETHING that laid me up for about 5 days, and have felt better for a few days....But NOW, whatever he had has COME BACK with a VENGEANCE!! Seems he has bacterial conjunctivitis ("pink eye" ), plus a now-bacterial respiratory cough/sinus infection, but still no fever, thankfully! So he was given antibiotic eye drops, a Z-pack, prednisone tabs for 5 days and some special cough syrup to take for 10 days. So....hubby is on "lock-down" for the next 48-72 hrs due to the "pink eye", and will be sleeping in the spare bedroom.....say....I JUST DID THAT MYSELF last week when I isolated myself from him when I was feeling so bad. Plus....I stripped the sheets/pillowcases/bedspread off our bed, washed everything and put fresh sheets/pillowcases and newly washed bedspread on our bed, since dr said this stuff is so contagious. So I have to put the antibiotic drops in his eyes EVERY TWO WAKING HOURS for 48 hours, then it goes down to every 4 hours. Let's hope I don't get it now!!! Sheesh!!!

Whoa! @guysmom. I hope he feels better! Take care of yourself too! Hot water wash/rinse and boiled water to clean your sink and shared areas. But then I know you already know that.
Speechless (the sinus infection does this). Yesterday, I completed an entire phase of a project. Go, me. Today, I have errands, more of the project, and more Classic Mysteries.

Yes! And before every eye drop installation -- at least yesterday and today -- warm, wet wash cloth on the eyes to soften up any crud (which is thankfully going away). And so, isolating the used washcloths in a plastic bag for about another day, and then washing all those out separately!! We've been married 33 years, and he's 80 years old, and he says the last time he had "pink eye" was about 70 years ago!! Today his eyes are about 60% less red, thankfully!!
Hubby has a hybrid car, and last night it wouldn't start. This morning he got it jumped and took it to the dealer, who is putting in a new auxiliary battery. I picked him up after he dropped the car off, and will ferry him back when it is done.

In the meantime the weather is t-shirt only nice, but a cold front is supposed to come later in the day. They're predicting only heavy (not tornadic) winds but I will be glad when it's through.

Need to start putting my Christmas Eve and Christmas Day menus together, but I'm VERY unmotivated.

Waiting for a voice to return. When it comes back, I can go to work again. Meanwhile, I have scheduled gigs that require little talking. That helps! The free time is good. Recently, I experimented with dollar store products and cranberry recipes. Win! Later today, I can continue to sort stuff, shred some of it, and watch movies. Should there be a gig for watching movies at home? Hmm...

I went to the regional market before work this morning. In the coffee aisle, I looked for interesting flavored coffees. I was blown away when I saw a flavored dark roast coffee by Dunkin'. I couldn't grab those kcups fast enough!

Finally, It's winter break! My baby girl has a cold but at least I can spend time with her and get her feeling better. I still need to decorate and put up a tree,
DH finally finished up the lights outdoors. It was a slow process. I added a crystal vase of lit up branches with lights in my window. Pizza delivery tonight with heroes and garlic knots.

The weather turned chilly and wet overnight, so there was no walking outside. Hubby and I went to Sam's Club using the card I got on a shop to walk around. Purchased a bag of chips and two jars of queso that we will gift to Youngest Son for Christmas. On the way home we pulled into the mall and finished up our steps there.

Had my Moderna booster shot yesterday morning and had a rough night in spite of forcing fluids and taking aspirin product for various aches. Got very little sleep as no position seemed comfortable. Sigh; this too shall pass and it is preferable to the alternative!

'Twas the night before Saturday and all through the house
Not a creature was stirring 'cept wales (who groaned, "Booster's a louse!"winking smiley... .

Sorry. That is no laughing matter! I remember feeling lousy after a shot. Bleh.

Hubby and I ran some errands, then 'shopped local' in several neighborhoods. I had been having a hard time getting into the holiday spirit, but after today I think I'm almost there.

Enjoy a cold, clear day. I just want to bundle up and study possible sites for ol' lady playgrounds. There are no jungle gyms, monkey bars, and other play places for people who are as old and weighty as I am. There should be such places. Picture it: the slide is wide enough and sturdy enough for me and anyone else who needs something secure under their bum. The monkey bars have gentle ramp access and a thick mat to land on instead of steps to climb and hard dirt to drop onto if weak from lack of muscle tone or convulsions of laughter. I would laugh at myself from sheer joyfulness and play there! Meanwhile, I continue to take the holidays in small bites. I have my personal, annual cranberry fun. Every year, I make a classic cran/citrus and at least one experimental recipe. Decades later, I have three fave recipes in addition to the classic crans. This year's test recipe might be the best in terms of both flavor and accessibility. Most people can afford all the ingredients and will never miss the few, cumulative seconds of prep time. It is truly that quick & easy.

A week ago, I burned both hands putting something in the oven. My mitts are always close and plentiful, but I rarely use the. The burns are healing but raw. Today, I poked the eye of one burn just hard enough to send me into a white metal shock.

Oh, Honey, that's awful!!! Must be so painful!! What are you putting on it to help heal??? ~~Hugs~~ to you!!
I use vitamin E oil.

If you have turmeric in the house you might play with adding a dusting on top of your vitamin E. I've used it several times, and feel like it really helped hasten the healing process. However, it does tend to stain things, so would have to be used with discretion.

Happy Monday! I only have a few tasks & errands before the all-important nap before work.

About 75% of the side-effects of my Modera booster shot have faded, so went grocery shopping at the very big store for the items that Aldi does not supply, and took along the non-driving neighbor. I noted that fresh raspberries, blackberries and asparagus were 2 (or more) times as expensive as at Aldi. And, the berries were the same brand. Also, frozen wild-caught salmon portions were the same price at big store as fresh, never-frozen, portions are at Aldi.

Time now for a nap before doing some baking. I am thinking cranberry/walnut bread.

Maybe reading your paper work posts will eventually prod me to tackle paper in my house. LOL
