What are you doing today? (besides shopping)

Worked my butt off. My head was spinning. The commute home was hellatious. Yay, I get to do it again tomorrow.

At home to meet Verizon tech who will either repair or replace the set-top box for my TV service. Then off to close a bank account and then to Halal Guys for a lunch shop.

My work hours (remote) are 9-530. At 7am, I go for a walk in my neighborhood and get my 10K steps in. I was beat today. I took a nap at 6pm and felt so refreshed.

I hope that reboots me for the rest of the week.

So today was day #2 of client entertaining. My boss asked me at one point "Where's the coffee?". I wanted to punch him in the face. I am not in charge of coffee and/or food catering. I ignored him but will be following up. Another long, crowded ride home. Cleaned 3 toilet bowls tonight.
Mostly free day. Need this before two super-busy days. Then, it is back to the usual: projects, schedule booster shots, work as much as possible before Winter break, and remember to watch new holiday movies every weekend. Mind you, I will watch the old holiday movies at any time! This leads indirectly to one of those odd things... I overheard someone speaking the other day. They sounded like a mashup of Marion Lorne (who played Aunt Clara on Bewitched), Mary Wicks (Holiday Inn, Father Dowling, etc.) and Jennifer of Two Fat Ladies. It made me want more of their wonderful presentations. Alas.

Grocery store, wine store, bank drive thru. then, house chores: laundry, setting out new solar garden lights in front garden; KP.

Drove 45 miles to Edwardsville, IL to complete another chapter of our scavenger hunt book (and found the city has a charming downtown area that I will visit again). Yesterday I picked up an e-bike shop there. Called and found out it was closed because owner was on vacation. Reported such to scheduler and didn't hear anything back. Today I stopped and took photos of the location and sign on door and forwarded them. Maybe I'll get a little bit of money?

My nap was a glorious 2 hours! Sometimes 20 minutes will do, but not this time.

How long was your nap Honny? I need at least 1.5 hours.

Still a bit shell shocked after yesterday's visit to thrift. This is was not the original plan for the day; it was that little inner nudge to go there and... then find out why. So this store has gotten rid of books and audio visual materials and carries only clothing, accessories, housewares, and a few mattresses. Be still, my nearly bibliophile heart. This new arrangement might make it easier for people to find the clothing in the correct places. I hope so. After a year or so of sliding up and down a three-size scale, I am about five pounds away from a smaller size and clothes at low, low prices. Meanwhile, thank G that I made my retirement plan, stuck to it, and have plenty of books and audio visual materials to keep me learning, entertained, and otherwise happy when I eventually retire completely. I now need a few more backup pieces of good old-school equipment, but those can still be found (more or less with ease).

Quick trip to drop off at dry cleaners; grab 2 items at Aldi; pick up pizza on sale next door to aldi. Earlier this morning my long-time neighbor (and contractor) discovered a pinhole pipe leak in basement ceiling that is so tiny that it can wait a couple of days for him to drain the line and repair it. By then, the new kitchen faucet will have arrived and he can also install that. The drop-tile ceiling in the basement apartment kitchen means that pipe leak it a really easy fix. Patting self on back for how I designed that when i had it built out in 1983.

Broke down and cooked the Halloween pumpkin. Part of it is cubed for dinner tonight, but the rest will be pureed and frozen. Went to Great Clips for a haircut. Only had to wait about 10 minutes. Learned that they were giving out free haircuts to veterans, and was thankful I got in and out as fast as I did.

Had a good two days of work and visiting with mil. She is still going strong, or as strong as she can. She now needs a cane and likes to hold someone's hand at night and/or when the wind blows. She is so light, she could blow away in the next puff of wind! Until the new movies begin, I am doing laundry and hoping that my shop editors will not laugh too hard at me/my GPS. I do have other, valid proofs of visit. But I have never seen my GPS dither like it did today: it gave me what appeared to be timely codes and then continuously flashed that it might take awhile to obtain a code. Then, the surveys did not accept the codes I provided. Mind you, it was overcast. Perhaps the accompanying wind blew all sense of direction out of the phone's sensors..... grinning smiley

I was showered with some thoughtful gifts for my bday. Husband got me a heat wrap among other things. It is amazing. I can work and move with this. No plug in. Heat for 2 or 3 minutes and stays warm for 30 minutes. Has amazing smell and enough weight to put on my shoulders and neck. Link if anyone wants it. Got it for half of the advertised price. Now, I wait for my pizza!

When you follow up, keep in mind that he probably had no coffee in his system!

I'm finally setting up my home office. I have everything in the cart. I just need to paint the walls. Tomorrow, I'm taking care of a tax issue and heading to Aldi's.

Watch holiday movies, work out, make first iteration of butternut squash soup, take little nap, and go to work.

We've been invited to a neighbor's driveway for socialization and a potluck dinner It's supposed to be in the 40s, so it will be interesting, although there's already a fire pit and plenty of wood staged next to it. I'm excited because even though we've lived here for a little less than two years thanks to Covid the only people I've met are the ones in our building.

My trip to Aldi's was so much fun! Can that be said of a grocery store?

When I bought the stuff for my home office, I forgot to put sticky dots in the cart. I use them to cover my web cam.. I found them in the middle aisle along with some no damage picture hangers.

I usually go to Aldi's hungry so I can be creative with my purchases. A bag of car potato chips took care of that. I did end up buying some Comte cheese, Reuben Bites, French butter cookies and a small quiche.

The "should" list: cut off substantial amount of hair/old, colored ends so as to be able to add a new diy color and cover grey strands which seem to pop up daily; declare loudly that it is too soon to go gray; repeat that mantra until natural color reappears; clean two cars inside/outside; tweak the butternut squash soup; do the stretch that makes me want to curl up in front of a sunny window and purr; and sort old paperwork for hours on end, even during movies. The probably list: tweak the soup, sort papers until my eyeballs fall out, stretch before nap, and watch the new holiday movies. Happy Sunday! smiling smiley

Work out, sort stuff, shred some of it, toss some of it, and try to remember the goal: most of this stuff will be gone forever, and I will never do these unprintable projects again. Ever. Amen.

Learning more about the capabilities and commands involved with my new-to-me phone. A quick stop at Aldi and the pizza place next door to it on my way home from a nice, easy bank shop.

Drove in a white out (blizzard) to medical appointment. Actually Hubby drove, more scary!
Just relaxing. I may get the laundry hung up
I tried mashed cauliflower for the first time today. It was a frozen meal. I am hooked! I am going to make it for lunch tomorrow.
