What are you doing today? (besides shopping)

Chiropractor appointment, browsing through thrift stores, and car wash (shop) after lunch.

Wrestling with a crashed laptop while on an MS roadtrip! GAH! But, finally got back on line. Time for wine!

Got a text from one of the DILs thanking us for the new toys for the children. However, when I sent the boxes I asked her to put them away in a closet until Hubby and I arrived at the end of November so we could wrap them for Christmas presents.

"Ruh-Roh".....as Scooby would say!!!
How many Scooby snacks will it take to gain the kids' compliance?

Keto bread. Sounds like an oxymoron. Tastes like nothing. Will freeze the rest and use it in Thanksgiving dressing. Might be cheaper to order pizza, give the food to hubby, and eat the delivery box.

I start a new W-2 job tomorrow at 1pm. I had to cram all of my shops into today then a trip to Aldi.

The job is a Compliance Manager for an engineering firm. It's through a temp agency.

A w-2 job thru a temp agency??? Any benefits?

First of two "free" days: find about one shop app, stretch deeply (aaaaahhhhhhh!), and get a tire repair-- finally. Long and unimportant story there. With or without that shop, I will be busy enough tomorrow, too.

Yep. I work with this agency when I am between government contracts. They provide health, dental and vision insurance and a 401(k). The 401(k) starts after the first paycheck and the medical starts after so many hours.

Other than a Costco run I'm going to do as little as possible.

The day started with a free $125! I was selected for a focus group and I joined the Zoom meeting. The coordinator asked the participants to check the sound and video and then said that the group will start after 15 minutes. After the said time, I was unable to join. A minute later, I received a phone call saying that since all the participants showed up, I was randomly selected as a back up. So, I will still get the $125 without participation.
That happened once to me at in in-person focus group. While we were waiting to see how many invitees actually turned up, I go to take part in a really nice soup, salad and sandwich lunch before I was randomly selected to be excused. I left with a check in my pocket.

I am at a comfy hotel with my own kitchen and a view of the very turbulent Atlantic Ocean. It is just beyond the sand dune that protects this shore from the worst of the Nor'easter. But, the palm trees are taking quite a beating. Huge waves coming ashore. I have just found a local favorite Chinese restaurant that will deliver and will order food enough for a hot lunch and dinner: hot and sour soup, sauteed broccoli and General Tso's shrimp. First I will finish a shop report and have a nap. I was able to use a free rewards night to book here instead of driving 3-4 hours home in high winds and torrential rain. Feeling very cozy indeed.

I thought you were working at Amazon? No? I'm not on here all that much anymore and must have missed your job change. sad smiley

USPS to send Ebay sale item; wine store; back home for laundry, packing for 3 day/night MS road trip. Getting comfortable with my newly set up Lenovo All-In-One computer; nice large screen! Hired a geek to do set up so that it looks like Win 7, but it is Win 10. He also set up my new printer (wireless). Cleaning out refrigerator before trip. hinking about next replacing my very old Win 7 laptop, since I still need a laptop for MS travel.

I like Win 7 much better than Win 10, except that many new apps will not run on Win 7.
I left Amazon during the summer. I needed to relocate and that wasn't feasible.

Wish me luck. I’m doing my first big box store cart build, curbside, and two departments shop and return.
Hey Everyone! Kindergarten has been busy-busy. It's nice to see what everyone is up to. I'm so glad tomorrow is Saturday!
I participated in a Zoom focus group a few weeks ago. It was definitely fun. The discussion was on pizza.

I'm going to a Halloween party tomorrow night at a friend's house. The hostess is serving chili and corn bread. I remember from attending last year that her corn bread was very sweet (which I don't care for) and volunteered to bring a pan using my favorite recipe from the 1980-vintage Betty Crocker cookbook. It uses 3/4 cornmeal and 1/4 flour, and exactly the same amounts of sugar and salt.

I made cornbread from scratch for my stepsons: cast iron skillet, fresh corn, etc. They didn't like it. From then on, it was Jiffy.

Grandma's corn bread was not too sweet. The other corn bread I have tasted was from Marie Callender's. (?) This tasted like honey was incorporated into the batter, and I wondered how many bees had to work overtime for my meal.

Focus. Ohm... Focus. Ohm.... Today, I am here to a) like posts and b) make lists of MSC's and job types. I finally finished a work challenge, set up my work stations at home for all those unprintable projects, and am back to where I should have been weeks ago. I should have made this list weeks ago so that I can consider a new configuration of gigs. Mind you, there is no guarantee that I would venture farther from home for this, but you never know. Maybe I would, if I had the right opportunities along the way.
