What are you doing today? (besides shopping)

I am currently loving Perry Mason on TV. The show started in 1958 when my parents were not even born. That really makes it old but it really is interesting.
I guess I'm old, too...haha...I was born in 1953, several years before Perry Mason was even on TV! You must be one of those young "whipper-snappers", haha!!

My Keurig died on Monday. I made a request on Freecycle for a working one. I picked that up this morning.

My book club is meeting tonight. I'll have a cup of coffee before I go there.

@Mum, "Everybody here tonight must boogie.
Let me tell ya, you are no exception to the ruleā€¦". Yes, you can!

This is not nearly as fun as dancing the night away in Mum's world, but whaddya; do?

@Shop-et-al.. I think you are confusing me with Madetoshop. I can't dance or boogie even if I triedsmiling smiley[/quote]
DH and I went to a Christmss in July party tonight. A first for both of us. Beautiful deco's and lots of food. Each person/ couple was to bring something that could be auctioned off. My Mom made the most beautiful, magnificent centerpiece for us to bring. Generous couple paid 4X as much as i thought anyone would for it. We bought cookies for $75. All proceeds went to a family whose mother/wife/ grandmother passed due to a hate crime. So, so sad. We had a great time and cried some.

@Madetoshop. Believe me I have tried, I dance like Elaine on Seinfeld!! I have embarrassed myself at so many weddings that I prefer to hide behind the buffet. My husband, though, dances like nobody's business.
@guysmom.. seems like I am getting old too, I mentioned Perry Mason to mom and she said I did my math wrong. Both my parents were born in 1955. smiling smiley
Happy Sunday Everyone!
It's the day before the first day of school....Trying not to do too much. DD and I ran to the store to pick up a first day outfit. Skipped the grocery store, now to lay out our clothes for the week, mop the floors, a little teacher school work, cook dinner, and maybe a Lifetime movie!
Finished the last July report. Added a couple of August shops to my calendar. Napped and did rainy day stuff like playing on-line game.

Getting caught up on a backlog of cooking and cleaning projects. Had a Zoom call about a volunteer project.

Reconciling my MS spreadsheet. Talked to my parents on our weekly call. I love them to pieces!

As it turns out, everyone here is right about the Perry Mason thing. The first Perry Mason book was published in 1933, and the black and white television program began in the 1950's. Some people knew of the character before seeing him as he was portrayed by Raymond Burr.

Back to your regularly scheduled thread now.....

Our Keurig has got to be at least 10 yrs old. We've gone through several water reservoir tanks as the plastic gets brittle with age. My spouse calls Keurig and gets a replacement each time at no charge. We've also had the brewer slow to a trickle once. That issue can be resolved by cleaning the output tube / orifice. There are YouTube videos showing how. I like our old model as it allows me to "multi-cycle" the brew cycle (new models don't) as I prefer iced coffee. I make the coffee in the Keurig in the morning in a travel mug, let it sit on the counter for about an hour to cool, then place into the refrigerator till the next morning when I add creamer and ice. My favorite is Kauai Coffee Macadamia Nut Vanilla.

Annual mammogram for me. Then taking non-driving neighbor to get her second dose of vaccine. While waiting for her I will pick up a pizza and some wine at very close-by stores.

Maverick1, the issue with my old Keurig was that it didn't know it was closed. The lid that you open to put a k-cup in the dispenser has a sensor on it. That sensor went out.

Errands. Finish a book. Work out with lots of additional stretching.

I've had a trail of ants going to my trash can periodically for the past two weeks. Bleach took care of them temporarily. I picked up ant baits on my shop today. After a few hours after I put it down, I saw the little buggers entering the trap.

That's a simple fix too!

Today was the first day of school. Those kindergartners wore me out! 179 days to go.... sleep calls....
Milked my wedding anniversary one more time by going out to lunch. Volunteer projects morning and evening.

maverick1, how is splicing wires an easy fix? Easy was picking up a working one from Freecycle.

Yesterday, there was some road debris that attacked my windshield. Bad damage. I could see, but if I went over a speed bump, the whole thing would have spider webbed.

Another day, another road trip. Would rather stay home and sleep until noon. Oh, well.

@HonnyBrown. I used to do product testing for a company years ago. One by one, I received three Keurig machines. We rarely drink coffee, being tea lovers. None of those models had even made it to the market at that time. I tested them and gave them away to my friends. They are all still using it after 10 years.
Yikes, @Honny!! Hope you were OK through all that. Hopefully, your auto insurance will cover the windshield replacement.
Family politics had me fuming yesterday but today, I am much calmer and zen. Finishing up a few chores and then maybe, a walk.
Yeah, you're right HonnyBrown...I keep forgetting that, for ME, splicing a small gauge wire takes just a few minutes vs getting in my vehicle and running an errand. Same reason why changing my car's oil and filter in my driveway is faster and cheaper using top name products vs going to any oil change shop. I'm a DIY person for life.

Went to the polling place to vote for one issue-a property tax increase for the community colleges. Wore my 'I Voted' sticker proudly all day.

Arrived home to an empty house. DH came home earlier and ran to the golf course. All Dds out. Ha! So what did I do? Deep cleaned one bathroom, removed and cleaned all 3 bathroom's screens and then cleaned all their windows and sills. Hard to get to outer glass, but he'll get the rest when we power wash this Sunday. Ate a frozen pizza and a juicy peach. Every one else on their own.
