What are you doing today? (besides shopping)

Went to a Memorial Day laying of wreaths at the city's Veteran's Memorial. Because the building was originally built after World War I after the wreath ceremony they commenced a reading of the names of the city residents who had died in WWI. We left, walked around downtown with our scavenger hunt book, then came back to the Memorial later for a fascinating tour of the outside with a extremely knowledgeable volunteer.

As we left for the first time a reporter for a local station asked if we would appear on camera to talk about why we attended the ceremony for this evening's news. If we don't end up on the cutting room floor it will be my 15 minutes of fame!

Parade did not happen again. Attended the Memorial Service. DH opened the pool. Water balanced, blue and clear. Loads of laundry. Watched 3 episodes of "Who Killed Sara?" on Netflix. Good series so far.
Happy June! I have time stretching out ahead of me... aaaaaaaahhhhhh.......this is very relaxing... it is easy to stretch me in these conditions... eventually, I will choose one project and do that... but only after I have stretched me to the point of bliss..... aaaaaahhhhhhhhhh......

I wasn't as eloquent as I could have been and did not make the on-air cut.

Productive morning, including a scheduled phone call with a friend, making doctor's appointments, and grocery shopping in between calls to an apartment complex that seems to let everything go to voice mail. If I don't get hold of them I will putter in the kitchen.

I was watching Dirty John on Netflix yesterday. Interesting watch. Today, I have a headache that refuses to quit. Excedrin takes a couple of hours to kick in sometimes. I need to relax but somehow, I end up doing Grammar/Math/ Science with my daughter. She loves working with me beside her and I can't say no. I am thinking I could become a teacher somedaysmiling smiley Maybe I missed my calling.
Visiting with lots of family in town for the weekend. Took my daughters to lunch, ate at my sisters house. So much fun to see everybody.
Aw!

I hope you aren't putting too much thought into it. You didn't have time to prepare!

@Madetoshop.. I was contemplating watching Who killed Sara? Will it end with Season 1? I hate to wait for series to end.
A few months back, I clicked an ad to get info on a refi for my house. Big mistake! My GV # was bombarded.

Fast forward last week, I get a call to my main number. I always answer that because schedulers call.

It was a rep from my mortgage company with a nice offer!

@Mum, seasons 1 & 2 (Sara) are playing now on Netflix. There will be a third season. Dirty John is so creepy! Poor Elroy on Sara.

Going for a brain MRI in a bit. I have this benign meningioma between my two frontal lobes. It doesn't seem to be causing any issues that I or my neurologist are aware of. But I have to get it checked every 2 years to make sure it's not getting any bigger, and today is the day.
I got the first dose of my vaccine today.

Relaxing and thanking the Almighty after a nightmare that we had yesterday. My daughter reacted badly to an anti itch cream and started vomiting. She just collapsed and was sitting unconscious when we heard a loud sound in the other room. She could barely stand and kept vomiting. We just drove as fast as we could to the nearest ER. After 5 hours on IV, couple blood tests, and a chest X Ray, which came out all normal, we came home at 11 pm.. Phew..She is all back to her normal self but I've become so paranoid, can't sleep. I am not letting her off my sight. My husband just handed me my laptop since he thinks I am scaring her when she is all right.

Oh, how scary for everyone! So glad that she is back home and doing OK. Do you know what ingredient there was in the cream that she was allergic to? So glad you went into the room when you heard that loud sound!
@Mum wrote:

@guysmom..Keep us posted how it goes. Hopefully, happy happy news.
Sure will...I see my neurologist on the 13th of this month.
Mum! Wow, I am so glad she is okay and that she was at home when it happened!

Since you have the laptop, contact the manufacturer of the cream and let them know what happened. Drug manufacturers take these things seriously.

@HonnyBrown.. It was Wintergreen oil. Highly toxic in large quantities. It is a herbal remedy and if I feel like an idiot for giving it to her. I saw it on a website that deals in herbal remedies. The doctor in the the Pediatric Ward told me to be wary of herbs since some are toxic for kids. We contacted the manufacturer and they said that my daughter could be allergic to the oil ingredient in the cream. Wow..the things we do..Never, ever taking anything without consulting a qualified/certified doctor. My mum never gave us an aspirin without consulting a doctor when we three were small and I thought she was paranoid. If I could kick myself, I would..
