What are you doing today? (besides shopping)

Sunday I watched Cooking Channel... Guy Fieri's Tournament of Champions. Also watched Spectrum on demand Iron Chef America Garces vs. Liken. Awesome competition about bleu cheese. Jose Garces won... of course. He is truly brilliant.
I read several chapters of The Fifth Season and my friend called from Florida. smiling smiley

Today, was planning -Week 2A day 1 of couch to 5K. This spring storm will mean using the treadmill.
Glad it's spring break, and glad I didn't schedule any mystery shops.
Treadmill, Housework, book by the fire. Bookclub tonight. Glad it's a Zoom meeting.
Today I received a second dose of COVID vaccine. Feeling well enough, I put together a lasagna using matzo instead of wheat noodles. Tomorrow I may not feel well enough to cook let alone eat from what I hear on the street.
@Rho: I hear you. My one gig for next month is happening before my second shot. Do the beloved gig, pick up whatever I could possibly need for the worst case scenario in post-shot living, get jabbed, and carry on....

So today we have a boatload of early work. Most people choose to complete this task on Wednesday in order to be cost-effective and save on fuel costs. If we did that, we would only do the early job all day. (We do not have time to incorporate the additional task into our routine and still have a chance at being on time or only a little late.) When supplies are late, that causes a domino effect for the whole day. So we split it up into two mornings, leave the rest of each day free, and never mind that this is less efficient in one sense. It makes life better for two days, which is better. If we leave now, we will beat traffic. Those early morning commuters don't want us in their way!

Sad experience today. I was working at the office with refrigerators and water fountains still turned off. I thought I'd log in and see if there were any last-minute lunch shops. Yes! A $15 Sonic 5 minutes from my office. I grabbed it and zipped over. CLOSED! Boarded up with a permanently closed sign. I eat there every other week or so and I ate there 8 days ago. Sigh. Oh, well. I stopped and picked up Chipotle on the way back. It was good but I had to pay for it. I had my mouth set for a double burger, tots and big drink - reimbursed, with $15 in my pocket.
My mother called and said she saw people walking in the halls and they might have visits at the nursing home. I told her I wanted to find out ....so we chit chatted a few minutes. I called the facility and they DO have 30 minute visits again. I rented a car and got a room at Hampton Inn ...yippee, woohoo, yay!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! We will be outside weather permitting.
Chiropractor visit, errands, and walk.

Did you fill out the report?

The 5Guys I did a few months back was closed for grease trap cleaning. I did the report as required. To my surprise, I was paid $9 instead of $3. $9 was half of my negotiated fee. I was good with that.

I'm sorry your Sonic closed rofl taco.

My fridge will be here next Friday!!! My microwave will be delivered on Saturday. I don't know why they could not do both the same day, but I had to make 2 different appointments.

I ended up getting an Amana fridge from Best Buy for the Home Depot price, thanks to Best Buy's price match. Also, Home Depot was out of stock. The LG microwave was on sale at Best Buy.

It was my #2, too. My favorite one is right down the street, but this closed one was very close. I did fill out the report. I took pictures showing the boarded up windows - already with graffiti - and a picture of the front with address, a photo of the marquee, and a photo of a closed sign I thought was worded very nicely. I reported saying permanently closed and uploaded the 4 best photos. The internet still shows the location as open. I'll probably get just $3 for a closed location.
I'm sorry for your loss.

That's great news! I heard that 2 people can be designated to be regular visitors - they have a name for it but can't remember what it is. So happy for you.

Today Hubby went to work for his VERY LAST DAY EVER! Will turn over paperwork to people assigned to projects, turn in computer and badge to boss, and walk out as a retiree. Going out to dinner tonight to celebrate.

Work, extra work x 3, and working in the FlyLady style at home. Whatever is completed within fifteen minutes is wonderful, celebrated, and done forever!

Today I repotted some succulents. I also told, not convinced, myself that I would paint this weekend. I cooked a stir fry for dinner.

Taxes. House, Week 2-A of couch to 5K
Maybe go with Hubby to a driving range.

I went for a walk in the snow. Eating lunch, reading my book. Going to make chili later. I will start packing for my trip to see my mom!!! smiling smiley
Work, extra work x 3, remember to affirm that person or persons pick up the work that is extra for us, and not-a-shop grocery visit.

All my little fifteen minute sessions yesterday added up to the completion of one phase of one project. Huzzah! This one gets easier and easier over time. Yay!

Road trip (40 miles) to get first COVID vaccine. Lunch at a restaurant recommended by pharmacist, then back home.

Yesterday I was near a Bed, Bath, Beyond and stopped in to browse. There was a display of Yankee Candles with most at Clearance prices . I'm thinking that line is being dropped by BBB and perhaps is being clearanced at all their stores.
Work, extra work x 3 including a time-consuming inefficiency, and [as usual] not enough time for a nap before the next job. On the up side? I have just enough time to finish The Project before it's deadline, even if I do this in my sleep. Then, it will be on to the next!

Thanks for the heads up! The Yankee Candle shop only reimburses $5.

I'm getting a burger on my shop today. I typically get a veggie sandwich to stay under reimbursement, but I want a good cheeseburger today.

I went to Aldi's to do some shopping for fresh/frozen veggies....fresh green beans, fresh asparagus, fresh carrots, fresh sweet potatoes, frozen sweet peas, frozen brussel sprouts, fresh garlic and fresh bananas!!
Zoom meeting, walk to grocery store ATM to deposit a check. Another walk with Hubby in afternoon. More than likely going to Good Friday service.

Someone took two of the open routes! They start work next week. Even if supplies are late, they can still be on time as long as they do not have too large a learning curve and quickly find their favorite/fast path. They are lucky, or at least smart: they are starting when it is cold but neither snowy nor icy. And, they have a potential advantage of sunrise and daylight. Go them, whoever they are!

Waiting to hear about the early job. Hoping for early timing, which on Saturdays means one hour for nap and one hour to work on projects before making an appearance at the next job. Late timing means means no nap and no progress on projects until the late and wee hours, which means no sleep before Sunday's work. Yes, I know that my world is absurd. Sooner or later, there will be no extra work, my projects will be down to a dull roar, and I will be back on the porch with prescription sunglasses, stacks of books, and plants instead of the empty pottery.

@Mum: I have been re-watching the first season of Designing Women. The clothes, the hair, the wise cracks, the shoulder pads... omg... the shoulder pads!

Watch the first few seasons of Law & Order for celebs in the making.
