What are you doing today? (besides shopping)

Heather, I am 50 miles west of San Antonio. We have not had weather like this in over 30 years. No one knows how drive in it. many forgot to let their faucets drip and had busted pipes, many went without power and water for more than 3 days. It's been bad, but today we are finally thawing.

Today we started seeds for 20 different tomato varieties, 9 spicy pepper varieties, a couple of trees that I like that I found seed pods for in public space, hollyhocks, lilacs and raspberry. I am hoping to get at least a couple of tree seedlings but would be surprised since I don't know what they are or what their germination needs are.
What kind of tomatoes, hollyhocks and peppers? Fun, fun, fun.....I have seeds for honey locust tree. Maybe someday I'll plant them. I grew some "Outhouse hollyhocks." They were gorgeous. I had white, dark pink and bought a mars red hollyhock which was perfect red!!
You planted seeds to grow lilacs??
Work and possibly extra work. Will find out about any extra work soon,

One project. When that is completed, a few others will cascade into place. Phew!

cjbstar, I drove cross country with a friend when I was in my 20's. We went through Texas and visited Breckenridge (sp?) park in San Antonio. It was beautiful at the time. Of course, that was 40 yrs. ago. lol
Hubby has an early morning IC delivery job. I help him with this. Because so many people have quit this job, there are numerous openings for subs. We rarely are free to start extra work until after the daily deadline. On one hand, the money is good for sub work even though the service is inevitably atrocious. OTOH, no one seems to be wiling to pick up the work as a regular IC job. If they did, they might be able to complete the work on time and provide good service. In addition to my occasional IC work, I have a very part time job at a university. I collect data which others who have important titles and [probably good] salaries eventually turn into reports for various clients.

I cleaned my kitchen, did laundry and watered my k-cup seedlings. My kitchen is so spotless, I don't want to dirty it.

Did laundry, including washing the sheets and remaking the bed. Wonder how long until I can put away the flannel set? Prepped boxes for USPS shops tomorrow. Out of town sons are getting some dry black beans and homemade brownies...I put a note in the box that called it '(almost) dinner and dessert'.

just breathe it'll get dirty. lol smiling smiley
Target run with my baby at 8:15AM. Stripped the beds. I will never buy a King sized bed again. Made a huge Garden salad and grilled chicken for lunch.

Laundry marathon all day long. Deep cleaned one bathroom. Watching some more Virgin River right now.
No Jobs! No, really. This is my completely free day for this week. I needed to sleep yesterday instead of completing the one project. That is okay. It will happen today-- which is all about working out, listening to wonderful stuff, completing one project, and beginning something else.

Laundry, kitchen clean-up, putting away a huge Instacart grocery order, prepping and freeing meals, rescheduling shop due to icy conditions,

Based in MD, near DC
Shopping from the Carolinas to New York
Have video cam; will travel

Poor customer service? Don't get mad; get video.
Day One at my new work location went well. The day went by very quickly.

Enjoyed the sunny, springlike weather while driving to my shops today. At one of them I parked a block away and walked.

Much better day than yesterday. Had intended to wash the car today, but it is too windy. I really don't want to power spray myself in the middle of winter, haha! I found ingredients which will make the plant protein meal replacement s**&^tuff palatable. My next task is to combine all ingredients in large mixing bowls and put the new blend back in the containers for future use. This is the happy medium diet, for want of an actual phrase. I am happy, the basic calories and nutrition are still good, and I can improve the fiber and protein easily and as needed.

I made reservations for my birthday stay @ Hampton Inn! That went very well. I went for a walk to get my favorite pumpernickel bread, half/half, eggs and chicken. I'm on my futon watching it snow.

honny, why do you keep changing locations? Did I miss something?
Opened the windows to take advantage of the upper-60 degree weather! Just a week ago it was close to zero.

Beautiful here in the SW corner of SC, too!! Hit 70!! I sure enjoyed my walk today, and now the windows are open and the heat's off!! HOORAY!! Should be like this for 2 more days, then Saturday, back in the mid 40s with rain, ugh. But enjoying today for sure!!
Lucky you, getting multiple days of nice. It's back to the mid-50s for us tomorrow and high 40s on Thursday.

Work and the usual extra work. Verify the pay for the extra work. There have been many changes in the job recently, and we want to work for the sub pay as it was when we began and not for one cent less than that. Later, there will be the daily choice: out of all necessary projects and tasks that were planned for days ago and today, which will be sacrificed yet again due to lack of time?

I have yet to bother about the mandatory whatever-it-is at the teeny job. I do not have enough time to start and finish the process of contacting the help desk and going through all the gyrations along the way to whatever is so important that I must find it -- but not so important that it cannot be posted front and center in a newsletter or something else that makes such essential information easy to see at a glance. I know that it is for all employees and is not personal or HIPPA protected. So why do they bury this general information? The good news is that I have earned enough for a tax form that will be sent. As far as I am concerned, this is good enough. I do not need the account to access tax information or for any other reason. Hmmph.

It is still beautiful! It is well maintained. San Antonio also has the river walk with hotels and restaurants right by the river. Lots of businesses for tourists. At Christmas it is simply stunning.
I guess some of the regular USPS shoppers aren't active anymore, because after a desperate-sounding email from the scheduler yesterday I applied for, and was given, four locations! (That will make 13 for the month; Before Covid I was doing one every two months or so.) I combined a trip to buy boxes and 'stuff' along with a dental cleaning and a produce run. This afternoon another walk in the 60 degree weather before it goes away tomorrow.

Had to physically show up for work. Don't know why. Guess my boss felt that way too as he bought the few of us lunch, LMAO. Went to Kate Spade and bought a bag for DD's #2's birthday. I know she will love it as her sisters want it. I had a good day.
Up before midnight in order to accomplish something-- ANYTHING!-- before the early job. So far, so good. I have a new budget, a fairly clean kitchen, and dried laundry all in its place. I just stood and gazed at the selected project area and intoned, "This is finished today. This is finished today. This Is finished today....."

After thinking about it for weeks, this morning I went to the gym for the first time in almost a year. Even though the bike I used looked clean, I still cleaned it before I got on and when I finished. Rode for 30 minutes. Except for the group of four 20-something dudes halfway across the room who were wearing gators that kept slipping off their nose it felt very safe.

The first location was for training. The second location was my assigned building. This location is close to home.

I picked up my rental car on Tuesday. I told enterprise that I wanted a full tank of gas. Of course the one they gave me was just under a half tank. How am I supposed to replace that? I wouldn't take the car until he filled it. He was pissed!

Not just today, but for several weeks now, I've been installing drywall and applying tape and compound to several rooms. Looks good if I do say so myself. It's a lot of effort that I don't recommend to most others. But I enjoy learning and using new skills.
