What are you doing today? (besides shopping)

Tired from the nine hundred year long shift last night. According to the clock, it was the usual few hours. According to the back, I deserved a good shrieking for making it endure what felt like nine hundred years. Back people will know what a shrieking back is. I wish mine were more talented and could produce bel canto, or do comedy, or something. Alas. So today I am re-arranging this week's gigs slightly to make the back happy. Fortuitously, I picked up one teeny assignment that is conveniently located just one block from where I personally need to be. Suhweet!

I did Part 1 (of 2) of an auto insurance shop today and learned that our current rate is pretty good :-)

I stayed home today due to a snow storm. I spent most of yesterday looking at an Asian food site and my mouth was watering for garlic noodles. I made the dish today. Not bad for a first try! I just wish the site had measurements.

Super tired, but it was a good day. still have a few more things to do before I hit the hay: clean the kitchen, Do Walk at Home, rearrange some furniture bc my recliner comes tomorrow! **Don't forget Free Coffee at Dunk'n on Mondays in February.
Hmmm, seem to have done almost nothing.
Although, one book is ready to go back to library. Cat is happy with all the cuddling.
I discovered seniors ski for free at the local ski hill and I booked us 2 spots for Saturday!
Will attend my Zoom book club meeting in a few minutes. Though I have not received the book yet. sad smiley

I will get on the treadmill for a bit too.

Made a homemade stew tonight...first stew I've made this winter. Boy was it YUMMY on a chilly February night! Made homemade corn muffins to go with it. Hubby & I both loved it, and I've got enough leftover for another meal or two.
Work all day. In a perfect world, finish strong & rid the car of all jobs' detritus (and clean it, too!). In my world, probably straggle home and flop until midnight/ the start of another work day. But working is good for the soul, or something.

*grinning smiley*

hah. We finished all work early and cleaned out the car. It isn't even 3 p.m. yet. This is a first.

Placing order for stair lift; meeting to finalize contract and order for new from door and storm/screen door. (March delivery and installation planned for doors.) Ordering for Thursday grocery curbside pick-up. Fold and store clean laundry. Team up with housemate to replace 5 ceiling light bulbs in kitchen.

Work, unexpected but extremely welcome extra work x 3, work at home, and workout. Changed one work schedule in order to make time for sleep. Pathetic, I know. All will be well when the new schedule is in place and I have had a few more hours of sleep and completed a few longer workouts. I need to keep the goofy IC schedules and the steady paychecks because it is good for me to do different types of jobs. This makes me happy, if not wealthy.

Went back to the hospital for a follow up evaluation to a screening procedure. Walked out with a clean bill of health. Hubby bought a tiny chocolate cheesecake for us to split as a celebration.

Hurray for good news @KathyG

Subbed in grade 4 yesterday and grade one today. Half hoping not to get a 6 am phone call.

Yum! What a neat way to celebrate!!

Anyhow, hanging around the house today washing clothes and ironing some shirts. Also, my dear hubby is very technologically challenged, and he has to take his yearly umpire certification test via the laptop. So, I'll set him up and be here in case something comes up that he can't handle.

After several tries to get less than a gigantic amount of tofu or very expensive tofu in grocery pick-ups, I succeeded today! Time to assemble that hot and sour soup recipe.

Relaxing again! Can I finish this library book before I go to town to meet my snowshoe buddy?
Oh did I mention it's -25°C here? Since I can't be the one to back down, I am going snowshoeing!

I need a vegan hot picnic snack lol

I was surprised that I got assigned all six of the post office shops I applied for (two different mini-routes of three locations each). This morning I ran to Walmart for supplies. They were out of small boxes, but I always have a supply of empty Costco tofu boxes I can turn inside out. Came home, stuffed three boxes, then went to a Zoom meeting.
After the meeting completed the three shops. Along the way I stopped by a Dollar Tree and scavenged three small boxes they'd emptied. Back at home stuffed boxes so I can do shops tomorrow in advance of coming winter weather.

Somehow, I must create time to take some sort of online trainings. I can never get into my employee account long enough to do anything meaningful. Every time I do, I change the password and then cannot get back in to do whatever I am supposed to do there. I have to change the password constantly because I rarely use the account and the password should be changed and always new. For my IC work, the tech is simplistic with all companies and platforms. For the weeny job, it is a nightmare. It reminds me of the good/bad barriers that one of my financial companies throws up as security. It is wonderful, presumably, for keeping out hackers and the merely nosy. It is a pita for small potatoes like me who rarely bother. Eventually, I will have enough time for the work thing. I guess. Or not.

I'm getting my hair done today...the works! After, I plan on stopping by Marshall's to pick up a hanging wall shelf and a wok. After that, I will stop by Aldi's to get something to put in the wok.

My predictive typing just appeared.

Honny, what kind of wok are you looking for? There's a cast iron one on Woot right now.

-33°C here, so staying home. I will bake something. Maybe start one of my winter projects before I run out of winter. Maybe tramp through the snowshoe trail in my yard. Just to say I did! LOL
I forgot about Woot! It's one of Amazon's many companies.

I want an inexpensive one. All of my kitchen gadgets end up in the graveyard. After 3 uses, I return to my trusted cast iron skillet, knife, oven, etc..

One of the dishes I'm going to make in my new wok is Moo Goo Gai Pan. The recipe calls for a tablespoon of Shaoxing wine which I don't have. I went to a local high end liquor store and asked the Wine Dude for this wine. He walked me over to a vendor, who looked it up and took me to the correct section. They didn't have that exact wine, so he looked up substitutions (I told him why I needed it). He brought me a vat. I let him know I needed a tablespoon. I thought he was going to murder me where I stood.

Work. Nap. Projects. We still have extra work x 3, which is good but time-consuming.

Having a lazy day today. A little KP; a little folding/storing laundry; a little household budgeting; a short nap (or two).

Ignore the previous nonsense. Here is what really happened: post on forum, go back to bed and have the nap first because work supplies and early job were sooooooooooo late, come home long enough to be natural and get out of cold wind, and get back out there and finish the jobs. Meanwhile, the silver lining, haha, is a free facial. Wind just whips across my face and exfoliates it. For free. Hubby will pay me for being out there and helping him, and there is no report on the beauty service except this volunteered drivel posted on a cold, Sunday morning. Here's to a fresher-faced me! grinning smiley
