What are you doing today? (besides shopping)

Weather ruled my life this morning.

I stalked Accuweather to determine the best time to start my commute. I normally leave home at 5am to get to work and settled in by 5:45. Because 5am was going to be snowy for the hour, I left a little early.

I got on the road early and the streets were dry with a little moisture. I didn't even have to use my wipers other than for road spray. The commute home was equally as easy.

Next month, I go to my new Amazon site which is 17 minutes from where I live. I am very happy about that!

I remember when I worked in retail there were many mornings when I left home early to avoid weather. Usually had my laptop or a book with me in case the weather gurus were wrong and I had time to kill.

Work, extra work x 2, and laundry. One baby step at a time, carry on with the projects.....

We're supposed to get about an inch of snow, with the storm moving on mid-afternoon. Although I could get out if I had to, I don't (until this evening, when I will go to the store to pick up Valentine's treats for the grandkids to put in the boxes I will be mailing tomorrow complements of USPS shops). Meanwhile, I'm fiddling on the computer and making some veggie burgers to go along with yesterday's reheated Five Guys fries

A whole bunch of small tasks and in-person consultations leading up to being ready to order new front door and storm/screen door and (separately) stair lift to connect main and 2nd (bedroom level) floors in my home. This is part of the AIP master plan for staying in the home that I love. There will also be some minor retrofitting of 2 bathrooms as part of the AIP plan, and, so far, the only part that Medicare will cover (at least in part). Finally, decisions and action initiated on replacing a folding door and a window blind in the basement apartment.

When I went to Walmart to get mailing supplies for tomorrow's shops I ran into a coworker from my last job at a Guest Services desk. We spent a few minutes catching up, and I found out that our boss (who would be in his late 40s) passed away last spring.

Hoping noone calls me to sub, since I've been awake since 3:30.
Clean, declutter, organize, shovel snow, meet a friend to hike.
Work. Choose nap instead of the next project on the list because I am sleepy. As long as something is accomplished by the end of the day, all is well.

Bank deposit (online banking still not working), curbside grocery pick-up, no caffeine after 10 AM (sigh) in prep for tomorrow's several routine medical tests. Assembling a slow cooker to start before departing for tomorrow's hours of tests in the morning. Moving forward on new front door and stair lift projects.

My shop route today took me right past IKEA. It was not crowded at all, so I was able to walk through briskly and get some of my steps for the day. I also purchased some glass tumblers to replace shabby ones in our cabinet.

Several hours of routine medical tests. No food or caffeine makes me really grumpy.

I'd be grumpy too. Make sure you treat yourself to something good on the way home.

Today I'm sitting through multiple Zoom sessions put on by Salt Lake Community College.

I'm an adjunct professor, the only thing I do that consistently pays better than any of my IC stuff.

Work, work, work, and extremely welcome long nap. Watching movies. I found one of the Margaret Rutherford Miss Marple movies and a set of Joan Hickson Miss Marple movies. There are other actresses and other versions and I plan to view all of them, whether online or my own copies. A quick search shows that Joan Hickson portrayed the old gal just as QEII imagined it to be. The others have their own qualities, though. I will never forget Rutherford Marple on the boat, in a pseudo-inspection, and the captain's response. He sneered down his nose, 'Who does she think she is? Neptune's mother?!' Sometimes, the best lines come from the lesser roles.

After my last shop today I plan to go to Aldi's.

I never replaced my fridge when I bough my house. It is small, about 16 cubic feet. Time for a replacement.

I have two (back to back) Zoom meetings this morning. At least the weather is cooperating for being inside.

We got a new fridge about 2 months ago. Ours is smaller than that....14.3 cu ft. In our double-wide, there is ONE & ONLY ONE space where the fridge can go, and it has to be no larger than a certain size or else when the door opens, it will hit the counter! Anyhow, I love our new fridge...we got it at Lowe's. Your basic white, no fancy stuff, just a fridge. Very happy with it. Hope you find one you really love, too!

Work. Work at home. Workout. End with old movies.

I'm looking forward to tomorrow! I'm going to start my K-Cup seedlings and cook some stuff.

I wanted an LG suite, but research shows bad compressors and customer service. I like what I read about Amana products.

The next one is going to be at least 25 cuft.

Honny,
Once you have done your research, don't forget to check out the place that used to be Sear Appliance Outlet. If you search on tht name it will turn up the new name/owner. It can be well worth it to wait until they have what you want in stock close enough to you to cover delivery and still save hundreds od $$$. On rare occasions, Best Buy has also had sales almost as good as that place. Patience can be rewarded with hundreds of $$$ in savings.

I made a stir fry with plans on eating it for dinner. It won't last that long. I'm doing ranch pesto chicken in the crock pot. I'll have that for lunch tomorrow also.

Honny, that's some HUGE fridge you are planning on getting! You must have some good space for it in your kitchen!! Hope you find just what you need!
Getting ready for a busy week ahead..... Teachers are teaching from the building starting on Wednesday. Little one starts back at daycare tomorrow. And I'm not sure why I scheduled so many shops this week, but I can't complain.
Did "big" (AKA multiple stores) grocery shopping, with a short walk in between each stop because it was too cold to be out for a long time. Other than that frittered the day away.
