What are you doing today? (besides shopping)

Mum, congrats on your YouTube paycheck!

shop, I'm happy you found your phone. I misplace my phone more frequently than I wish to count. I keep it on so either Alexa can ring it, or Google can show me where it's at. Once, I thought I left it at a restaurant. I typed into Google "find my phone" and a map of my house appeared. The phone was on the floor of my car, which was in the garage.

This morning I woke up with a taste for crab legs. The market (too early for Aldi's) wasn't crowded. There were no big pieces of ginger, so I got 2 usable nubs, organic carrots, a pound of crab legs and some Kerrygold flavored butter.

Meanwhile, I found my phone.
HOORAY!! So happy for you, Shop!! It must be a relief!
Thank you, all. Someone was going to lend me a phone. I was going to give them my shop incom. They said I didn't have to do that. Aww.

Hurray for finding the phone.
Merry Christmas all.

Hubby went for a short Christmas walk with me, so I could try out my Fitbit.
I will get a real workout when I go snow shoeing with a friend later.

Christmas fresh air and exercise!

My little one opened her presents. Santa got a toy train that we put around the tree. The cool thing is it makes steam and whistles!! We also got her a science kit with cool experiments, a glow in the dark volcano, and a slime kit. Since, she eats lots of veggies, has smoothies everyday, and exercises, Santa left some skittles toosmiling smiley
On the second day of Christmas I gave to me
Two completed projects
And a diy mani/pedi...

... unless I find a well-paid shop close to home. Bonused shops, including some with an invitation to bid, are just a few too many hours away for me. But someone will pick them up, right?

Work. Clean out one car. Cook enough for the whole day now, so that I can watch a movie (while working out) and take a nap before next job.

Forecast of mid-50s today. Don't know what the day holds, but I know it will be outside.

Luckily, I am meeting a friend to snowshoe so I will be getting off the couch. Then have to return snowshoes to the library.
Maybe skating as well. Hubby agreed to skate every second day as he has given up Shinny reopening this year. But, he will back out if he deems -13°C too cold.
Other than that clean, tidy, organize and unclutter the whole house. Didn't get to that yesterday.
Finally finished apartment shop assigned over a week ago. It was very interesting-I am NOT the predominant demographic for the neighborhood, and I had to work hard to convince agent that I really wanted to see what they had.

We are going to watch a drive by Light Show today. I hope the 40 bucks that we paid will be worth it.

How do you like the WW meetings online? Is it via Zoom?
Christmas was quiet yet wonderful with my baby girl. Santa brought her a new car seat! Her favorite toy is a flashlight that makes animal sounds. She also loves her xylophone /piano combo!
Today, unpacking boxes. Still waiting to hear back from the daycare.

Work, work at home, work at night job (because I did not make it back from gigs in time for last night's shift). Yesterday sort of went off the rails... long story there, but today I am laughing at the odd conglom of weather, policy changes, and irascible old farts. But today I am remembering that... morning by morning new mercies I see... and extending those to others who need a little mercy.

Couch, comforter, cat and Five Star Christmas movie. I don't know why I recorded this one?
Cooking projects-curry for dinner tonight (and tomorrow night, as the recipe made four servings). Broth from full bag of vegetable scraps in freezer.

I have been under-the-weather so my neighbor, Mark, brought some of his homemade chicken stew. It's that sort of neighborhood here.

Poor customer service? Don't get mad; get video.
I was in a fender bender last week. I got a police report on site and filed a claim when I got home. I received an email from dude's insurance company telling me that I was responsible for my deductible and the rental. I sicked(sp) my insurance company on them. They suddenly don't know the source of the email and told me to disregard it.

My hair stylist is on maternity leave and my roots are showing.

I went grocery shopping today.

We made our first delivery order for Giant Food (THE big grocery chain here.) Delivery day will be Thursday, so housemate will have her New Year's black-eyed pea and collard greens in time. We did a pick-up last week, but I am not driving for a few days (side effects of new meds) and this was less expensive that sanding my non-driving housemate RT by cab. I suspect that with another holiday Covid surge on the way, we will do a lot of these before the vaccine reaches us, at the rate that it is currently being shipped. (Don't get me stated on THAT subject!)

wales, I understand the need and urgency for a pandemic flu vaccine, but there is no way that I am taking a drug that was hastily made without the full realm of testing.

The kitchen and dining room light fixtures hadn't been cleaned in a year, so that was my big task today. It's a laborious process that involves removing the bulbs and unscrewing a decorative housing around each of the sockets before the glass can come off. Then after I got the kitchen fixture reassembled I discovered that the glass was still smeary and had to do the whole process again. Now everything sparkles.

Work.Nap. Relish the privilege of reading just as I please (thank you, Dylan Thomas). I rummaged around in Ambrose Bierce and chuckled about his definition of what is happening here, now. Then, I declared a moratorium on all lofty plans to transform my world: there shall be no more than two cars cleaned out, one home's floors cleaned, and one room's pile of crap that is tall enough to ride the rides at an amusement park [i measured] sorted, re-arranged, and/or otherwise removed. Now, I feel better. A few things will make an impressive impact before workout & a movie. The most difficult task is choosing the movie. Classic, thriller, horror, holiday, romance, faith-based, so bad you wanna' cry, or just play eeny meeny with movie titles and watch that one? Sweet!

Debit card issues! My card got cancelled due to my own stupidity. I now have to put all of my purchases on my MS credit card and remember transfer the funds. I canceled my rewards card and opted for one with a high balance.

I got my Christmas Uggs yesterday. They are still in the box.

I made my final decision on a daycare for my little one after 3 tours today and hundreds of phone calls with different centers! Still can't believe they are opening the schools in my county.
Early job was early. Yay! Priced hair cutting scissors. A few diy trims would make the scissors pay for themselves. Staying out of salons reduces my risks there while freeing up slots for people who really want the salon appointments. The greater risk is what could happen to my long hair when I am wielding the scissors. OTOH, it grows quickly.
