What are you doing today? (besides shopping)

Online shopping for a few gifts to be shipped. I hate it.
Other than that, relaxing. Christmas cards? Yoga? A walk?

Hello! I'm checking in for the first time in over three months.... I've been working 70+ hours a week teaching (remote learning is brutal) and that's about it..... Today, Saturday, I put in an 8hr day and anticipate another one tomorrow.... No time to shop... There are lots of bonuses, but.... oh, well....

Hard work builds character and homework is good for your soul.
Welcome home !

Snow shoeing on some nice trails.
Can I clean, organize, and unclutter the whole house before noon? My daily hope.
Oh, and finish online shopping? And Christmas cards?

@MFJohnston I am sure online learning is brutal. Here grade K to 6 are still going to school. I subbed 2 weeks in grade 2. The teacher wasn't sick, she had to isolate. She taught part of the class everyday from home, as she hopes to have her students trained if the need arises. There were 2 of us in the classroom to help keep them focused. Quite a chore.

Luckily for me, she also taught the ones who were at home. So, I didn't have to provide work for them.
It is so much work, glad I no longer teach full time.
Attempted to report credit fraud. The system glitched out... pffffffffffft. This is stressful because i need to finish this and about twelve other things before nap & night job. gah.

In better (or at least siller) news, I am happy to report that I laughed out loud in my dining room based upon one of HonnyBrown's posts about the dead banana tree. Neighbors who moved away gave us several plants. All but one survived and are well. One is thriving! This is the tropical-looking thing with huge unfurling leaves that are now growing on the ceiling. If you look at the floor, you will see several withered leaves that hang from stem to ground. I have not learned whether it is safe to cut those away from the stem, so I leave them in place. If that is all you saw, you would sing the old song. But if you saw the rest of this plant, you would be amazed.

I love perspective.

Wow the ads are so obnoxious. It's hard to navigate around them. I got no sleep again so I'm not going anywhere.
Another day, another attempt to report credit fraud. If that is the only thing I accomplish, it is enough. Meanwhile, it is time for a cuppa.

For the first time in months I 'took' a virtual class from my gym. Realized that although I walk copious amounts each day some of my muscle groups are in shambles. (Looking at you abs.)

Ordering a small electric kettle and a lb of loose leaf black tea. I was astonished to see that there will be free delivery before dinner time today. Will have to check the open front stoop often this afternoon because we are getting about 2-3 inches of rain today.

Time to return to my morning tea ritual and store the coffee maker for a while. I have spent so much time (in the past) in Britain that for years I was much more of a tea drinker than coffee. Recently was gifted with some superb "first flush" loose leaf tea. Wow ! While I am not going to afford that for everyday use, it certainly reminded me of why I love tea.

How annoying Shop-et-al. Usually they take care of that quickly.

Dentist in AM, subbed at a Hutterite colony in PM. Usually my favourite class, but had to use my shouty voice. sad smiley. Ended on a good note at least.
Got to my apartment shop today and realized a friend lived in the community. I was pretty sure she would be at work, but kept looking over my shoulder the entire time.

The heavy rain today started after I got to work and ended before I left for home. Wednesday, we are expecting 12" of rain. With a commute that includes a dark, icy drawbridge, it will be time for a self imposed snow day.

Fell and sprained my right foot. At first, I thought there was no injury, but 8 hours later, I am using a cane. Bah humbug! Fortunately, the ankle is okay.

sorry to hear that wales. I am going to Post Office to mail cards and delivering Amazon egift cards!! smiling smiley Having delivered for mom from Amazon!
Thank you, heather. Two doses of Bayer Back and Body and a night with the foot elevated have helped greatly. But, I am rescheduling today's appointment and one shop. Ahead of tomorrow's winter storm I will take my housemate to a grocery store and wine shops, but stay in the car while she does what needs to be done.

Let's hear it for having a housemate if not a partner ! Soooo glad I was not in the house alone when I fell !

@walesmaven, it sounds like you have things in hand... if not in foot... what...

@wales, So sorry to hear about your foot accident. Hope things heal up quickly for you!

@Honny, YIKES! That is a LOT of rain!! Staying home sounds like a plan to me!!
There. I slept late, completed all errands, and am wondering if I will be sent to a location to re-take an image that was deleted instead of shared. *oops* I would not mind going after the pic because a bulk club is right there, practically next door to the location. It would cost extra to get the pic but cause some items to cost less if they came from the bulk club place. It's a win win, or at least a break even, either way.

I saw the prettiest mask today. It was soft red, with "Merry Christmas" embroidered in green. The person was talking to someone, so I did not have an opportunity to ask them if they made or bought the beautiful mask.

I have seen some neat masks. I think I would not like to face a classroom of tongues hanging out or other ones that I've seen.

Today, I am staying home, determined to get things done! So far a little tidying- uncluttering. This is how I procrastinate getting the online shopping done!
I ordered gifts for family. Walked to the Post Office to mail more cards. HIgh temp today was 13 but that was ABOVE zero. lol
wales, wow, I'm sorry about your fall!

KathyG, the 12" of rain should have read 12" of snow. It's now a maybe, but I am still doing a snow day tomorrow.

One of the hinges on the coat closet door came loose, so we took the door off pending repair.

Lucky you. You had the privilege of choosing to take off the door. I roared and demanded that hubby take this #@#@%#$^%^&^ thing that had hit me for the umpteenth time outta' there until further notice. This was not my finest moment, but it beat the heck out of being smacked again by an untouched, falling, heavy door...

Work, errands, de-clutter two places, and clean out two cars.

I just oiled and then did a spice/herb rub on a whole roasting chicken. I will let it rest for about an hour before putting it into a very slow (300 F) oven to make a good version of "rotisserie chicken.". No sugar or water pumped into the bird.No unknown additives, period. Slow roasting, breast down, will provide tasty, very moist meat for several days. One wing, the neck and all the giblets are simmering to use as a gravy base.

Honny, you were wise to take a snow day. The sleet has definitely started to freeze all of the slush on the roads. And temp is dropping like a rock as rush hour gets underway.

Snow Day!!!!!

I cleaned my kitchen and did laundry, as far as housework was concerned. I reconciled my MS spreadsheet. That's about as productive as I was today.

I sliced my finger yesterday while opening a soy sauce bottle. Husband took over cleaning while I cooked as best as I could. Watched a great movie yesterday. Has anyone seen the 1939 movie Made For each Other. It was just so heartwarming!
