Luck with the bread! I do this the old-fashioned way. Are you old-school, or do you use a bread maker?

So today is for work, laundry, more work, watching a wee bit of snow melt, and finalizing next week's crazy-busy schedule.

Temperature fell from mid-80s yesterday to mid-50s this afternoon....and will continue until the reach the upper 40s. Today's errands and walk were done in VERY brisk weather.

Years ago I cut up some Osage Orange fruits and scattered them around the basement foundation, but I'm not sure where you live. Pretty sure the trees just grow in the Midwest.

Today's high temperature of 85 was one degree short of the record. After morning errands and lunch I took the bike out for a ride. I came home drenched in sweat, but it will be a nice feeling to remember on Monday when the high is only going to be 45.
Yup, love this Indian summer! Here in the NW corner of SC, the high reached 81. It's great having the windows open so much this Fall! Saving on the electric bill!
Work. As much other work as time permits. As long as I complete the assignments that are due today, all is well and I can do the others next week. In a perfect world, we would be working at the early job already and have time for everything else. Oh, well. We will start eventually and the day will unfold... the nice thing is, the long-johns that are most welcome in the wee hours will still feel good later, when it is a veritable heat wave and 60 degrees where I am working in the warmer afternoon.

I worry about using a food repellant, in case it attracts other bugs. That's interesting as a possible deterrent, though.

I am reading up on cedar balls (instead of moth balls, which are poisonous). These might work for me.

I hate cockroaches with a passion. I saw some story of a woman getting one stuck in her ear for a week. Gross!
I have been on a hunt for the perfect bra since OnGossamer decided to do away with their quality. After trial and error with several brands, I found perfection in an Amazon brand t-shirt bra. The Prime price was $10 and it's a perfect fit.

Trying to see what Ghostery may do to get rid of the pop-up ads that slow loading of my emails in AOL. So far, no luck.

I love the weekend! I have one grocery shop. Then I'll head to Target to see if they have a teal lamp for my bedroom. I need to pick up some photo's I had printed at CVS. I'll do a dog walk, maybe at a park, and then I need to do more unpacking while listening to my book club book! Happy weekend everyone!
wales, if Ghostery doesn't work for you, try an Ad Block extension if you use FireFox. That was the only thing that blocked the ads in Yahoo! mail.

Honny,
Thank you! Will do. Ghostery is not getting the job done with Firefox.

I did a video call with a doctor. Have been suspecting UTI for the past couple of days and a home test confirmed the same. Did a curb side pick up for antibiotics. Feeling a lot better now. So, just chilling with unsweetened cranberry juice and watching Unsolved Mysteries on Netflix.

Has anyone heard from Irene or JAS on the forum? I miss both of them.
@HonnyBrown.. I found Carole Hochman from Costco to be closer to what I like. Could you share a link of the Amazon brand?
I use that extension, too. Yahoo is the only site I've found that doesn't play well with it. Earlier this year they took away some functionality if there's an ad blocker.

Monitored situation between our pampered cat and the dumped off kitty. Tense but quiet.

Carole Hochman makes OnGossamer. I had a fitting at Nordstroms in 2007 and an OnGossamer bra was used. I was loyal to the brand until there were epic fails in the quality of the bras. The company won't address the issues, they just offer gift cards to replace the items.

Irene is living her best life. She pops in every now and then. JAS and Coffee left the forum for good.

Correct. They took away some of the features, but returned them since I didn't disable my ad block.

For my LG phone, which I purchased new over the summer, the Yahoo! mail app and website were too heavy with ads. I integrated the Yahoo! account with my GMail account and I don't see any ads.

Doing some research online concerning a piece of signed Jemez Pueblo pottery that I snagged at the last day of a big estate sale yesterday. Everything was 50% off for the last day. I was amazed that this item was still available. I may have to write to a museum and NM and the tribal shop there to get some better understanding of the symbolism of the characters included in the design.

Work: for whatever reason, we are picking up supplies at the exact moment that the last delivery is due. So we will be busy all morning instead of at home and doing the two or three daily tasks that we could fit in between jobs. Oh, well. At least we are seeing the snow in daylight, when it is fresh before natural drifts have been human-altered into convenience piles. [In a perfect world: Customers, if you could read this and I could advise you, I would suggest that you stay indoors, sip hot chocolate, and contemplate the meaning of life or something. Based on experience: a few people who are brave enough to trudge though snow in order to lie in wait and then scold us when we appear will probably inform us that they are tired of all the late days. We do not control that, but we hear about it. Alas.]

@walesmaven: nice find! Native arts are wonderful!
@heather shops: how did the bread turn out for you?

Today is running errands and getting my flu shot. I'm also mailing in my ballots.

It's 32 and I walked to Post Office to mail mom another Halloween card. Too chilly to ride bike.
Wanted to join my hiking group. But the dumped off cat and the pampered cat are not happy. Tried to keep our cat inside, he just sprayed the door where the little one was crying to come in from the garage.
Hubby will not be happy to deal with this all day.
Changing the air filters on the vehicles myself and saving about $200. Super easy to do. Thanks You Tube.

Packing and shipping 4 auctions/listings that sold this morning on eBay. It was a slow month until this morning. Unfortunately, I shipped 6 boxes in the last 48 hours (because they were due), so I am not double-dipping on the shipping. Oh well.

@walesmaven Congrats on finding some good items to flip. My friend spied a Villeroy & Boch platter at Goodwill for $3 one time for me. smiling smiley I've got a seemingly endless supply of items in my house. > 20 years of mystery shopping, my mom's estate, a husband who likes to buy one of everything, and two kids will do that. I will not, however, pass up a good deal on a clearance rack if I can flip it fast.
Finishing the early work from yesterday... we got stuck at stop one and a customer gave us a push. We got stuck at stop three and a customer gave us permission to turn around in their large yard and showed us where the shallow-ish spots were. We appreciate them! We stopped then, knowing that people would clear their spaces sometime later that day. Next, I organize info and stuff for the rest of the week and then go to the late job.

Last Friday I had a runny nose and scratchy throat that did not respond to allergy medicine. Out of an abundance of caution Hubby and I went for covid testing. The doctor said he was quite sure I did not have it, and I received an email from the lab today confirming that.

We of course curtailed all of our plans for Saturday and Sunday. I was SO excited to make a trip to the grocery store today!

In this case, happiness was, indeed, a by product. Smiling at your outcome !

A lovely day at home. Doing housework, trying a new cookie recipe because one should do that when trying to lose weight. LOL
