What are you doing today? (besides shopping)

@prince: lovelovelove swans! wonderwonderwonder if you could re-frame that as an opportunity to water and fertilize the wilderness...

I had some oregano cuttings rooting on the windowsill. I potted them. I moved the green onions from the balcony onto the windowsill. They are anorexic. I have cucumber, tomato and watermelon buds. The chamomile is turning/flipping into the dirt.

My Uncle, Mom's oldest brother, called me today to wish me a happy birthday. I only talk to him when I see him in South Carolina, so that was a very pleasant surprise.

Happy B-Day to HonnyBrown! smiling smiley

I only have a fun day planned. Alas.

A quick run to Aldi, pick up a carry-out pizza order with a great sale price, pick up a ton of dry cleaning for a friend who does not drive. Drop off a return package at UPS. Freeze meal size portions of said pizza. Change bed linens. More laundry ! Anticipate tomorrow, when I will know whether or not MD is starting to add $300 to weekly UI benefit retroactive to 8/1. They finally added the new qualifying question to the weekly claim process, so this may be the week that the funds begin to flow.

Happy happy birthday! I'm going to try to fix my laptop. Using smartphone to do surveys....
Happy Birthday, Honny! Hope life fills you with many unexpected pleasures this coming year!
Thank you everyone! I truly appreciate it. Every birthday is a blessing!

Work x 3 with bonus money. Not a bad way to spend what was going to be a free day...

This morning I will be taking Hubby's bike in to the shop to have it looked at and stopping by the cleaners to drop off a coat I bought at the Goodwill Outlet.

Another section of Census training will start tomorrow, with work to follow next week. Today at 4 pm I have to go pick up supplies at a Federal building halfway across town. I'm a morning person, and usually by that time of the day I'm winding down.

All of the things that were on yesterdays list had to be delayed to today. And, add baking a blueberry pie.

Doing a happy dance because several weeks of the FEMA funds UI are being credited to my account.

I picked up some generic Tylenol PM to help with my insomnia. That worked really well for me in the distant past. I hope it works again.

Work, more work, schedule other work, work out, and work on exactly one teeny project.

Yum Yum!!! Blueberry pie!!

Hubby and I will be covering our above ground pool today. No more going in the pool till next year!!
I did my first day of virtual training for my next Census assignment, which involves enumerating people who don't have a conventional place to live (think homeless shelters and soup kitchens). Everything is done as part of a team.

More virtual learning with kindergartners, taking my little one to the doctor for shots, and one MS
Work. Start new employee online something-or-other, which I am told will take hours. As far as I know, my weeny job only needs me to know about the discrimination, harassment, and parking stuff. Everything else is n/a for a scarcely employed part-timer. Oh, well. In better news, I am giving books to a free book place that is part of a bookstore. The honor system is that you can only have so many free books before you replace at least the number of free books that you took previously.

Just lazing around the house, as we're getting the rain today from Sally up here in the NW corner of SC. Washing clothes, and maybe vacuuming a bit later on.
A mix of online learning and homeschooling is working out good. No school tomorrow since it's teacher's planning day. I will finish my movie "Witness for the Prosecution" today. Seemed really interesting.
I thought I slept soundly last night, but I've been dragging all day. Other than more Census training little has gotten done.

I am very annoyed. One of my coworkers I was in training with calls me after hours to talk about work she needs help with. I don't mind helping, but after my commute home, I am turned off. To top it off, she spends the majority of her workday playing on her phone!

I ordered an Oster food processor from Target. Hopefully, this one will work!

Work. Three projects (which will end by the end of October and never re-appear!!!!!). Deal with employee thing. Apparently, my username was sufficient to get me hired but it is now not allowed due to a character that does nothing but make it memorable and easy for me. I will have to call the help desk and find out how to get a new, characterless username. Bottom line: no login, no trainee. No trainee, no workie. No workie, more time to knock out more projects. But no money. But projects! but no paychecks. Whatevs.

Hubby has a HUGE (in importance and time) video conference on Monday. He wants to directly wire in to the wi-fi, which requires him to take over the living room. Because the conference contains sensitive information he asked me if I would be willing to vacate for the afternoon. I'm starting the process of figuring out what to do away from the house for 8, or possibly more, hours.

Paddling my kayak up a scenic creek! Latest in the season I've ever done that!
But first I have to paint the bathroom as I did first coat yesterday.
Kathy,
A route of thrift shops, in pursuit of items that you may be able to sell on Ebay, plus a plan for a really nice lunch, sounds like a possible day "out." Be sure to call ahead to see if/when the thrift shops are open for business.

Alternative thrift shop motive: looking for special holiday gift items. In England, I bought a commemorative porcelain tea cup and saucer for my sister's collection. (Commemorating QE2's coronation, no less, lol). Or, that perfect three-tiered cake tray? A really old atlas for a history or map fiend? Jigsaw puzzles for the friends who are isolating? Weird and wonderful kitchen gadgets? Snazzy old costume jewelry for just the right little girl ? Funny tee shirts?

They both sound like good ideas! I'm tired of visiting the thrift shops around my house.

@Kathy: Just now, the ATV/UTV shops are being bonused. No negotiation, no purchase-- just gather info and report! I just saw some $15 no-purchase phone shops; you can probably get a bonus. What about going into nature and just enjoying whatever the scenery is?

Worked my regular job and one shop during lunch. I have been crazy busy with shops this month. I'm back up to my pre COVID second income. This weekend is the first time I have one free day in weeks. My budget is happy, my tired body not so much.
