What are you doing today? (besides shopping)

I lost my debit card back in May. I have been using Google Pay since then since I was told that new cards would be sent out in August due to a bank name change. Google Pay doesn't support the card I use for MSing.

August has come and gone, so I went to the bank this morning to get a new debit card.

Walesmaven, yes Frost. Not unusual. We already had frost once. Come on over!
Your task sounds exhausting!
I fertilized the tomatoes lol. So I guess I will cover them tomorrow. Give them another week to ripen. I hate ending up out there in the dark, wet and cold bringing in the tomatoes.

So while it was warm today I pulled out all the bean and one row of pea plants, even though the peas are still blooming.

A few days ago, I saw a weather forecast for snow next week. Even though most early mornings are quite cold and it now feels like Autumn-late Autumn, I am balking. I will double check that forecast... and secretly smirk at the possibility of a new sweater to celebrate this auspicious occasion. grinning smiley

Meanwhile, today was all about work, trying on smaller pants, and smacking my head. I ordered pants in progressively smaller sizes because I found a brand that will work for awhile. But I skipped the next size. *oops* It's okay. I remember when the ones I am wearing fit like the ones I just bought. It is a silly, goofy way to celebrate this wonderful change process.

Up at 2 AM on day one of two free days. Cuppa, listen to wonderful stuff, and finish a massive project. This one initially involved moving furniture and other heavy stuff. I had to move some of it again in order to get a better "feel" in the room.

Happy Labor Day! I realized at the end of my shift that today was a holiday.

Another bike ride in the morning and a dinner "date" at Five Guys.

My Dad recently went to a club store because he wanted some vitamin supplements. Naturally, they were out due to hoarding and mass buying. I ordered the items for him online. He's 80 and I don't want him exposed in public.

Watch road & weather reports. Monitor iffy heating system at home. Hopefully, leave a heated home and go to merch. Anyway, it is the first snow of the season! Close to home, it is still just pretty and peaceful. A bit of it is blowing outside my window, but that is only meant to keep us alert and ready for winter.

Assigned a bonus storage shop to justify being in the area of IKEA so I could pop in and spend my $10 birthday cash and get a free frozen yogurt. And as a bonus, the Goodwill Outlet was just around the corner so I threw some work gloves in the car too.

Today I worked from home and had back to back meetings all day long.

Work. More work-- and put the hubby to work. He had to do what my back could not do today. Come home and sit in the all-time best chair for the back. Aaaaahhhhhhh...................

Hubby had an important phone call, so he set up a card table in the bedroom (his office opens into the family room and does not provide enough privacy). While he was on the phone I walked up to Aldi to buy the onions I needed to make dinner.

Watching a master plumber rebuild the insides of a toilet tank. Obviously, it does not take much to amuse me.
Also making pot roast with mushroom gravy and real, homemade redskin mashed potatoes. Cleaning up kitchen area. Watching huge amounts of rain and listening to the flash flooding reports. I am on a hill, but the storm water management ponds in the valley below are topped out. Storm sewers are backed up, so roads have 2-4 inches of water on the outer lanes, and this is not the worst hit area. Wish we could send some of this to western foresrs right now.

Work. Learned that uni must continue to restrict in-person, on-site activities-- which means that my job will not begin this month as planned. Oh, well. Debate: attempt a wee visit with mil, do bonused shops in the opposite direction, or stay at home and work on projects. *tosses imaginary three-sided coin*

Today is a free oil change at the dealership, the food bank and a wine run. I might get a car wash while at the dealership, but my car sometimes end up dirtier than when I went in.

Due to blinding rain and flash flooding of roads right around here 2 days ago, I could not complete my errands. So, today will be a wine trip, and groceries. Yesterday, a few local roads were still closed due to high water and/or flood damage. As my mother would say, "More excitement than seems necessary," was had.

btw, this immediate area gto 6 inches of rain in the first 2 hours of that storm, and a lot more in the following 24 hours. More than 50 motorists had to be rescued by boat across the DMV region. I got home through the storm, but with quite a few detours around where creeks are near roads.

Work. Figure out a reasonable schedule for the next few weeks. It must include jobs, gigs, tasks, projects, errands, workouts, flicks, books, and general quiet time & contemplation. It must exclude pre-. pre-pre, and pre-pre-pre Halloween candy, going overboard at the bookstore, and professional mani/pedi's.

When we moved into our new place one of the refrigerator produce bins was cracked. I fixed it with Super Glue, but today the piece broke off entirely. Trying to find a local source to replace before I just order it on Amazon.

The home warranty contractor came and fixed the microwave and garbage disposal. Since he was scheduled to come out at the same time as my oil change, rescheduled the oil change. Today is a much needed trip to Aldi's in between shops.

Highlight was seeing some swans. Lowlight was I needed a bathroom! And I do NOT pee in the bush. I am the only one. Blush
