What are you doing today? (besides shopping)

The next few months I will ease up on the shops because of tax season. It's a win win and prevents me from burn out on both jobs during the year. Stocked up on household and toiletries to save time. Trying to get motivated to take down the few decorations I put up.

Shoptastic, please don't do that to yourself. Yes, stay informed, but do what you can (email/call your representatives, speak out on social media), then let it go. Stress hormones will tear your body apart. Take care of yourself.
I went to Goodwill today. I bought a cast iron frying pan and two tops. The frying pan is a Lodge that is in dire need of seasoning.

Time to break out the bacon!

JAS, in a former life, I had a complete Le Creuset collection. Once a month, I would stop by the outlet after work and buy a single piece.

Early job was early. Yay! i listened to a great interview with an author who discussed a book and well described some of the difficulties that mere humans have/always have had with truth. So the book goes on my list of must-have reads, and I will have it along with a few other fine current books soon. Yay!

...and then, life happened. My phone was hacked and is now unusable. Can you say, PPPFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFTTTTTTTTTTTTT!?!?!

I woke up this morning and it was chilly underneath my electric blanket. I checked my thermostat and it was 58 degrees. My heat pump went out again. Thank goodness for home warranties. Again.

He already did. Sometimes actions speak louder than words. But, we try to avoid politics in the forum, most especially in this thread.

My youngest daughter is back in town for her final fling on Christmas break. Took her to lunch and got her first cavity filled. Love having face to face conversations with her.
Today I am planning out the veggie garden, using my 11"x14" graph paper and a bunch of colored fine point Sharpies. We are fortunate to have good soil and plenty of room for the garden. It will probably end up being about 70' by 50', which includes plenty of room for pumpkin and watermelon vines.
I'm jealous. Lunch with the kiddo and planning gardens. That is good stuff. I have done nothing except shop. I can't wait for a shopping free day.
I'm just trying to make it through winter!!! We can't put anything into the ground until at least the end of May.
JASFLALMT, that's why I start planning the garden in January. I also have 10 itty bitty trees started, only 6-8" high, but the one I put in the ground 9 years ago is now higher than our second story, and the maple I planted three years ago is about 7' tall. January is for planning and putting fruit pits and seeds in pots to see if anything comes up (only works with organic fruits), February is for seed-starting the stuff that takes a while, like petunia seeds and such, early March is when the tomato seeds go into the peat pots and the peas go in the ground if it's not too cold. And then! And then it's April and the real gardening begins!
I submitted my last (minor) assignment for the term. I have two weeks off from school. Maybe now I will get my living room painted.

HVAC dude came out to look at my system. He needs to order a part. Two days.
