What are you doing today? (besides shopping)

1, 40 below means frozen nose hairs and a few other frozen parts. It is parka weather. When the hubby began this early job, we walked from car to delivery locations and back again. This was wonderful when it was not winter. He fell many times on ice, and I fell a few times on it. I demanded change. We got excellent change. Now, we work almost exclusively in/from the car. Our risk is very small, and we are healthier due to no falls. We had to replace the walking.

2. What does the carpet manufacturer's website say about pet stains and odors? Would a protein-based product help with the proteins in the urine?

3. Huzzah for Mum's Dad!

The carpet is a neutral dark tan.

Good news is that I don't believe there is any residual stain yo remove!

I know you probably mentioned this somewhere, but what color is the carpet? I know that the Dollar Tree sells a cheaper version of Oxyclean that is non-bleach but supposed to whiten well. I do remember reading somewhere that vinegar can help remove stains. They do make some cat stain specific products (I think Shout has one). Ugh, so sorry to hear that!

Try a little hydrogen peroxide and see if that helps...pour a little on an out of sight area of the rug first, to make sure it doesn't leave a stain. The "oxygenated" part of the peroxide sometimes takes stains out. Good luck!
Folex. Google it for a photo. It’s a white bottle with purple lettering on it.

It should be about six or seven dollars for a quart size bottle. It is completely non-toxic and will leave no residue, which means once it dries, it won’t attract dirt and leave a brown spot like most carpet cleaners do. It also will never remove the color from your carpet.

@HonnyBrown..I would want to visit Alaska sometime. Meanwhile, Mexico will do. Looking forward to it.
Work. Extra work. More extra work.

Vacuum car. Get rid of stuff. Look for hoodies (they stay in place; hats do not My ears like to be warm.).

Watching the news as the freeways are all closed in all directions and the town was in Starbucks as no one could go to work...schools, colleges are closed and the fire is way too close for comfort, say a little prayer please.

Donate stuff. Re-arrange stuff. It's enough.

Irene, which town is affected by wildfires?

This weekend is working on my final. It's due today.

If the stain went down to the carpet pad, it will resurface a few days later.

Porter Ranch near Tampa and Sylmar are the two by me, but winds died down,, was effecting the 5 freeway, which we take to go to the city or anywhere..32% of Porter Ranch is contained, but a friend had to evacuate.

Today is our Open House. We're taking the cats (who HATE going in the car!) to a park somewhere. We'll open their carriers and let them roam around in the car. Hubby and I have a pile of reading material. I hope the two hours goes quickly...and is productive on the selling end.

Later this afternoon we will go to our church Sausage Supper for dinner.

I burned my dinner. I made turkey chili and cooked it to mush. I fell asleep after submitting my final and woke up to yuk.

But you submitted your school project!!!!!

Obviously, there is a better day for turkey chili.

At least you didn't fall asleep in the middle of your final, LOL. Glad to hear you are done, I am sure you did well!
I use a crockpot a lot. I have 5 of them, LOL. 1 really big one (a gallon), 2 medium sized ones (2 quarts), and 2 little 1.5 liter ones.
Yes, it's good that I didn't fall asleep on my final, LOL.

Other than this random situation, I don't see the purpose of making chili on the stove and then transferring it to the crock pot. I'm browning the vegetables and the meat on the stove top, then quick cooking the beans in the same pot. I may as well finish cooking the chili on the stove.

I pretty much only brown the meat on the stove and everything else cooks in the crockpot. I have found that the tomatoes need to cook a long time to reduce the acids, so I start those first and cook them low and slow for at least 1/2 a day, sometimges overnight. I like my beans softer so I add those and veggies next, another 1/2 day, then the meat and seasonings, another 1/2 day or more...but whatever works for you, as long as it's not burnt (LOL). And your house didn't catch on fire, another good thing.
I don't even brown my meat anymore and either my chicken or chuck comes out so tender, falls off the bone... I use it for a night of Tostada's or add black or kidney beans an hour before done, cooking meat for 6 hours,
so good never fails. I find it burns with the liquid burning out on the stove.

I put the chili on low at 6pm and fell asleep. I woke up at 2am! JAS, I am truly grateful my kitchen didn't catch fire!

I don't understand how anyone in this day and age, especially if they are over 40, chooses to go without health insurance. Obamacare opened that door for so many people.

JAS, I read something on a different thread. I'm reflecting it here.

My house smells like burnt beans.

1) Work, extra work, more extra work, oil change, choose one or two of the endless house tasks, look for ecru pillow sham.

2) Use this space to reassure anyone who is still awake that I can create an actual sentence.

This thread alerts me to how boring I really am. No wonder I like shopping. I am at home today. I finished up some paperwork, loaded the dishwasher, and wiped out the microwave. I put a pork roast on to make green chili for tomorrow and will go shop because the spouse wants loaded baked potatoes for dinner. Now I"m going upstairs to shower, dress, and do a couple of errands. A friend of mine lost a neighbor that she is close to so I'm going to pick up a plant and a card for her and see if she wants to road trip with me 4 hours away for a very highly bonused video shop.
Did my errands, bank, car wash, pick up LaBrea french bread for a soup I just started...my world famous Tortilla soup, so dinner will be about 3ish. I made oatmeal raisin muffins with flax, not a baker, hope they're at least edible.

Live consciously....
Today I am lollygagging about the house, pretending that I don't see all the little tasks that need to be done.
