What are you doing today? (besides shopping)

The interview went well! They were impressed with me. I was impressed that one of their travel locations is in Hawaii.

Still no rain, but I am listening to thunder.

Yesterday, I worked hard at home before the early job that we could go south of the border and wave at undone shops. Well, I didnt wave at them, but in the past I have waved while driving by on the way to personal places. You will not care about vintage books or about being between sizes and not being able to take advantage of 50% off of already low thrift prices. But one of you (I have forgotten which one) will be able to tell me about Whole Foods. The new version of the food/bev area has the white subway tiles, white spoons, beer bar and coffee bar, and generally a little spiffier aura. Yes? No? ?

My shops are late today, so I will stay in bed accordingly!

I had a renal ultrasound done today. Back when I had my appendicitis attack in May, the abdominal CT scan showed a "sub-centimeter non enhancing lesion" on the right pole cortex, whatever that means. Anyhow, because of my history of breast cancer, I just wanted to get it checked out. So, saw my hubby's urologist, he scheduled CT scan and said it's very small and feels it's probably just a cyst but understands my concerns. So I reckon I'll get the results within a week or so.

I worked at my full time job... 8 hours of endless analysis of cases... And it will never ever end...
Guysmom, I am sure it's going to be fine, and maybe you will hear back much sooner than a week. I had an ultrasound and X-ray for that lump above my collarbone this morning and they gave me the results by the end of the day. It's just an area of fatty tissue, nothing to worry about. Whew!
guysmom, hugs and prayers!

My dress that had the missing belt: the designer replaced it with a new one, and I had to send the damaged dress back to them. They received it a few days ago.

End of story, right?

I received an email today letting me know that they are processing my refund! I emailed customer service very quickly and got it taken care of.

We got about 8 drops of rain. It's still thundering.

On Sunday we signed a contract to sell our house. Hubby left for a training class early Monday morning. I have spent the past two days cleaning! Yesterday I made two trips out. One was to donate a trunkful at the thrift store and toss a bagful of expired prescriptions in the lock box at the local police station. The other was for a bar integrity shop (and I really needed that drink!) Today I didn't even leave the house at all. Tomorrow the adventure continues....

Today is my annual physical and maybe a reimbursement shoe store. My exercise shoes are in bad shape.

HOORAY!!! So glad to hear that, JAS!! At least you can push that out of your mind now!! I truly believe it's important for us to get our concerns checked out....if nothing, great!! If something, do what needs to be done as soon as possible!!
Happy Hump Day! *why thank you. is that one hump, or two?*

Or not.

All I have to do is a thrity-nine item task list. Mmm...

My physical went well, I think. The MD was more focused on pushing hormonal treatments.

I had a small mole removed from under my eyebrow at the Dermatologist. Very happy with the results!
On the third try, I finally was able to renew my driver's license. The office was very crowded, but they were also super well organized and I only had to wait 52 minutes. Just as I got what I needed, the office was evacuated for a fire drill. About 60-70 customers, employees and police (there as observers) trooped outside. I felt very fortunate not to have to wait amoung them, in the blazing sun, 105 degree "huniture" and poor air quality. I was able to maneuver my car through the crowd and find a nice, cool spot for lunch.

Honny, your plants will get another chance for larger drink tonight; we just got a heavy rain and wind warning for the entire area.

I am of the opinion that you should not do HRT if you can avoid it. My sisters and my mom all did HRT. I chose not to do so. I actually have a more even keeled temperament than any of them, and I am the only one who didn't end up on a bunch of other medications for other things. I am not saying that HRT causes other medical issues, but who knows for sure that it doesn't?

Wait. I am confused. Why does the doc want HonnyBrown to have "hormonal treatments"?
This is not my business, and no one needs to tell me anything. I am just nosy.

I think they do that when women get to be a certain age. I am a bit older than Honny but I am guessing that's what is going on. Did your GP not try to "sell" you on that?
My Dr. never mentioned hormones when I went through the crisis.....maybe that's what's wrong with me, I'm getting very crabby lately....we need our own forum for woman's issues.....

I just never thought it was a crisis. It was just a normal thing that happens to women and I let it be that. And I am fine. And if you are crabby at over 80, I don't think it is due to hormones, as it likely would have presented at a much earlier age. Just my opinion.
Really, it wasn't a crisis, just being dramatic. I had an easy time with it, I'm just losing my patience, selling house and all that goes with it. Suzanne Sommer's wrote a book about hormone replacement years ago, I don't know how important hormones are for mood control and tantrums.....just another pill to take...bah

I asked about the weight gain that I can't seem to get rid of. I told her that diet and exercise is not working.

She said it was due to post menopause and went into a used car salesman pitch about hormone therapy, and continued when I told her that I was not interested.

I am surprised that she pushed hormone therapy. The CDC would disagree ! You may want to consult a specialist ?

k. I was just wondering because I did not know how old anyone was. Sometimes, people have hormones that are so far out of whack that hormonal intervention is needed for menses and conception. Moving on... So today when I was grocery shopping (not a shop) at 5:30 AM because the early job was on time, I picked up a magazine that featured a liver cleanse. According to the lead article, switching to 50% veggies and utilizing chromium and/or l-glutamine will assist the liver in its processing fucntions which include handling hormones. [Post-menopause and hormones were referenced here recently.] The chromium and glutamine reportedly help with cravings. Everyone should get their own advice from their own medical resources. I gleaned: we might crave and chronically be using processed foods, sugars, salts, and caffeine to keep us going because our livers are not efficient and we are not fully nourished by whatever we are eating. Improving what we ingest makes the liver's work easier. We stop flooding our systems with toxins. We are able to eat in a cleaner way, and we might not miss the caffeine and the processed foods. I am not a paid or voluntary spokesperson for this magazine. I merely mention the article because it might be of interest to some people. I am not superstitious, but some people might say it is not just a coincidence that a few days ago, I found (in a thrift store) a plate with designated portion sizes for proteins, veggies, etc. I did not buy the plate, but today I recalled that the green "veggie" section comprised half of the plate. A Doctor Haas was mentioned in the article. He says that lentils and beans are good. I like them in soups, and a little lemon there might substitute for lemon water. Just thinking outside the plate...

The diet I follow suggests a serving of beans or lentils every day, along with servings of greens (particularly spinach), nuts, and lots of vegetables and fruit. When I follow it to a 'T' I find that I have more energy and my abdomen shrinks in size. But it's SO hard to eat that way every day. I don't know any restaurant (shopped or not) that cooks like that!
