What are you doing today? (besides shopping)

I worked at the thrift shop (part time gig) today and met the coolest WWII veteran and had the greatest conversation. My dad was a helicopter pilot in Vietnam and my grandfather a commander of troops at West Point, so I always make sure to talk to the people that are wearing any type of military gear. He was and is an amazing man, still serving his country by helping out the "youngsters" coming home and I loved talking to him today.

Gym, in-bank investment shop, then grocery shopping in the rain thanks to the remnants of Hurricane Barry headed through the area.

Hiding inside my house. While drunk and crazy tenant moves out next door. Avoiding confrontation. He chose not to observe the no pets rule. Got his eviction notice yesterday and he's moving today. So, it was actually pretty easy.

@sestrahelena, did you have to evict him?
Work, extra work, transplant more plants. If the extra work is available for tomorrow, I will make an altered route sheet for it which will shorten the time needed for the work. It would also give me a few hundred more steps in my day. Need those!

Finally figured out a way to place the water for the chickens where is doesn't get dirty every day. Another use of cinder blocks. I should start seeing eggs soon. Transplanted some plants that weren't doing well. One of my dogs is old and starting to be incontinent, but she is fine otherwise. I did some research and found out there is a huge amount of dog owners with the same problem for various reasons. Ordered some washable doggie diapers on Amazon to use with people diapers seemed like the best option so I will try that first. Who knew?

Honny...I looked and looked for deals that I wanted because I got 6% back from Ibotta and 6% back for having an Amazon card but I found very little that I wanted to buy. I ended up buying vitamins lol.

Today was an insomnia shop and homework. I found a product to fix bleached hair, actually repair it on the cellular level. The next bleach will be when I get that product.

Today brings paper work, catching up and preparing for another open house Saturday.....oh my.
: I just received a letter from Southwest saying they are giving me a 75.00 Voucher for travel due to my bad experience on both my recent flights......

Yep. But he moved the day after I posted the notice. No muss, no fuss. Just didnt want to deal with any final thought he might have wanted to share. Big dogs, toting guns around the yard during a blackout while drunk, heavy drinking and bounced checks. A real winner, that one.
I picked another tomato. I'm going to have a tomato basil salad for lunch.

One teeny report, one pretty good book, and one long, deep, makes ya feel good all over stretching session.

Doing a big route today but squeezing in lunch with a friend I don't get to see very much (except on facebook.) I'm seriously over this heat. I've been doing gas stations in it and don't like to complain but IT'S GOTTEN TO ME NOW. Last gas station today finally. I am looking forward to reporting the last effing gas station and passing out on my bed under the ac. After that (which means tomorrow) I will bake a strawberry cake and read.
I'm meeting my niece for dinner this evening. I haven't seen her much since my sister died, and not at all for almost 2 years, so I was extremely delighted that she reached out to me.

I went out for my walk this afternoon instead of this morning. After 30 minutes or so, it started raining pretty hard. I had no umbrella. When I was a block from my house, the sky cleared up.

You're a better person than I am. Maritz ikeeps asking why I'm not signing up for gas station audits. They obviously don't live in my area...I will NOT stand out in this heat!

I take care of my 80 year old father-in-law who has dementia, diabetes and numerous other health issues. Not one friend or family member has come by and offered to take him or give us a break since right after the funeral two years ago. Shopping when he's at the Medical Day Care Center a couple days a week and on weekends when my husband is home to watch him is my only outlet. Well, that and wine, LOL! Today I got paid to go to the movies, went by myself as usual and saw "Yesterday". Cute movie, about the guy who is the only one who remembers the Beatles and their songs. I enjoyed my time away!!
Awwwwww.... Caregiver's day out! Kinda like Mom's day out, but with a role reversal. smiling smiley

Maybe the others do not know how to be respite caregivers?

So here in my world, I am glaring at e-mail and grimacing at shredder. Inadvertently, I shredded shop notes and cannot find a possible request for more information regarding that shop. Yesterday, something weird happened. I was responding to an e-mail and the response just... went a little wonky looking on the screen.. and disappeared. I sent another response along with an apology for my equipment. In the same browsing session, I saw an e-mail regarding shop feedback for a different assignment. That, too, has disappeared. I did not have a chance to read it, so I do not know what I might need to do about it. In the past, e-mail has come and gone from my list. It has appeared again days later. But that had not happened for several months. Yesterday, it happened again. I will wait for more information instead of contacting MSCs because I know they are busy and do not need a potentially useless communication. It is just irritating, wasteful, and odd. Pffffffffffft.

My church has a fish fry every other month and needed volunteers to help with the set up. It was so much fun! I helped set up the tables, cut desserts, prep work in the kitchen. It was busy and the time flew by. I enjoyed getting to know the other members.

Even though it's stupid hot outside, the grass was very long and needed to be cut. I wore a baseball cap that I kept dipping in cold water, which helped.

Made some watermelon candy at home. Hopefully it will turn out the way I saw on Youtube. If not, no worries. It was just watermelon rind and 2 cups of sugar.
I'm not a better person. We needed the money and it was the big bonus near the deadline that screams PLEASE TAKE ME. I think they were some of the most challenging ones I have ever done and it's just because of the heat. I had to force myself, literally.

We trapped a raccoon last night so will have to drive out into the country today to relocate it. Will be sure to do it near a body of water because of the heat. For living in a downtown area we sure have a lot of critters around here. The raccoons and possums stampede our porch every night.
The night before last a possum got trapped and GAVE BIRTH while in the cage. We had to let her go, we couldn't relocate her like that. Luckily possums have no problem taking their offspring everywhere they go.
After I finish a hotel report: laundry, wine store, drive-thru pharmacy, grocery store. Avoiding any exposure of over about 5 minutes in this extreme heat emergency. Monday is expected to start about 6 days of relief. I have reorganized all remaining July shops to fit into that period.
