What are you doing today? (besides shopping)

I went to a Goodwill near my shops and picked up cute martini glasses and a shaker. I'm happy I got them for less than $3 because my martinis are horrid.

Love Goodwill. All through my college years, I shopped there...and at garage sales. Got all my (usually designer) clothes that way; clothes that literally outlasted me. I had to give them away when I got older and had babies. In the ol' college days, you could go to Goodwill and fill up a HUGE trash bag (like yard trash bag) for $5.

I have 4 kids and we've taken on a sort of foster. Dishes get broken in my house. I just went to Goodwill a couple days ago and got 6 red plates and 6 red with white plates (same shade of red) that will be so beautiful on my table alternating.... all for less than $3; their "tag" was the day's "sale tag" for half off. I was pretty overjoyed smiling smiley

I bet your martinis will taste BETTER in a glass that you didn't spend an arm and a leg for. And remember, practice makes perfect!

After my shops, grocery trip, re-scheduled tour and interview for prospective housemate. He had a work emergency call the last time. Understandable since he manages asset security for a large employer in the DMV and DE. He sounds like a very good prospect, so I hope this works out. The current lodger departs in one week.

I'm at my dealership waiting for them to fix my tire. Someone here has dog poop on their shoe and it's not me.
On my last trip to Goodwill, I got books. We are such different people! You are the fun one.grinning smiley

You're right: the martini I made in the shaker and put in the martini glass tasted great! I used the shaker cap as a jigger, so all of the portions were correct.

My Mom and Aunt are the ultimate thrifters. Mom got a NWT Chanel purse for $6. She sold it at a consignment store for $800.

I did a shop at a hardware store today. I bought a patchouli plant for under reimbursement. I didn't know patchouli was a plant. I put it in the cupholder in my car. When I returned from my next shop, my car smelled divine!

I'd buy a purse for 800.00 and sell it for 0........no luck selling anything. Going to a nice Consignment place next week to try and have them sell some designer suits I got from my sister, a beautiful Italian leather jacket and a nice Michael Kors purse, I just hope they take them because their Italian wool (heavy) and summer's around the corner.

It is sweater weather! It is raining and just cool enough for a sweater. When working at 2 am, I added a sweatshirt. This is infinitely better than a hot summer.

I made so much progress on the @#$& projects yesterday that I am taking most of the day off today. There are books to read, casserole recipes to tinker with, and protein hair packs to apply.

Working for a few hours, then off to an early evening graduation party. A bunch of old friends and their kids who I haven't seen in awhile will be there, looking forward to a fun evening!
Two Ralph's (Kroger's) groceries and maybe a lunch at the mall, Five Guys which I may do or do tomorrow.
Since I'm around the corner from Macy's and their having a sale, well, the rest is known, will take a look but not buying, Home to do reports and putter, bringing upstairs clothes downstairs ready for selling this coming week.

I did a Version shop this morning after Ihad breakfast out with my hubby. We are going to take a drive this evening and listen to Cousin Brucie.
I did my last report this morning . Enjoyed my coffee in a leisurely manner. Now just to wait for follow up. I made two pitchers of tea, sweet for my spouse and green for me. Caught up on my two games and have been vacuuming high and low. It's rained so much moss is growing on our steps so will go scrub them with Clorox in a minute. I'm planning chicken salad and watermelon for dinner.
I'm wide awake, but I can't seem to get out of bed to go for a walk.

Well today is church and Sunday School . I will do one shop that I was going to do last night but the weather got bad, so we stay in Ponca.
After finishing up 3 partly done reports...
a nice at-home brunch
laundry
laying a new hall runner
manicure
deep conditioning my very dry hair
misc tidying
posting some sales on Craig's List
meal planning for the week
choosing 15-30 July shops from my main MSC source when they are posted for self-assigners early tonight

Snow! Well, a few scant flakes, a few minutes ago. But still!

So the early job is a subjective thing. On Sundays, for some reason, it always begins (and ends) late. It's okay. For late breakfast, we had leftover salad (always better on the second day) from yesterday. That quick meal freed time for other things. The first other thing is to look for more books by a new-to-me fave author. This is funny stuff, and I laughed my way through my first of the enjoyable books. The second other thing is a gentle workout.

Dropping off two bags of clothes to our Goodwill, more grocery stores, home and to the pool...legs need color,
and I need to get out of the house.

I work at a thrift store for my part time job and I have to stop myself from spending all my money there. I have bought a lot of stuff there and sold on Poshmark as another side gig. On Wednesday, we had so much stuff donated that we had a 50% off of EVERYTHING sale. The people went crazy and I was so busy I did not buy one darn thing. I also hurt my back and had to cancel my Thursday shops, but feeling better and ready to conquer next week.

@HonnyBrown Practice makes (near) perfect. Don't give up on mixology, it's so much fun and once you arm yourself with a few recipes, you'll be making up your own stuff in no time. Martinis seem easy, but it takes practice to get those amounts right and that shake (or stir) right.

Shopping the South Jersey Shore
I stopped by Goodwill today and found some cookbooks.

Agree!
I am on my way to my Kindey DR. Then I will wash clothes, made beds and do a few phone shops
The dryer does not work well, so we will take wet clothes to laundry. While those are drying, we work on little projects for the early job and mail stuff from last week (*oops*). In my defense, the situation is so gawdawful that it should be forgotten forever. !

Lowe's to pick up small stuff house needs. Fire people coming to check our fire devices inside house and put new hydrants outside, preparing for yet another fire season. Trip to Goodwill, another bag of clothes.
Light went on in car, bringing it in to see what is wrong...oy vey. does it ever end?
Actually got good price ticket to San Francisco July 16th to meet cousins, have fun eating and re-visiting city and visiting my sister in an Assisted living home in Palo Alto....been too long.

I went to the nursery before my first shop. My first and only stop was the 50% off section. There were a lot of orchards and lilies. I picked up two African Violets for my living room.

What was I thinking!

Irene I fell for you for several months we were doing just the other way around , we would wash the clothes laundry and take them home to try. But now both machines have played out so I spend a longer time at the laundry but it nice to get home , put them all away at once and be done with it.
