What are you doing today? (besides shopping)

If you really want to get it, I recommend being proactive. My insurance covered the cost if done at a Walgreens, and I started popping into the pharmacies and asking if they had some available. That strategy worked both times.

Glad to hear that all is well. Had no idea that they could do such a non-intrusive procedure these days. What a great development.
Me, too!! However, if I had waited another day or two.....it would have been a TOTALLY different story...I would have been in sepsis and one very sick cookie with all that poison in my abdominal cavity. That's why I am SO glad I listened to my inner voice!! Yes, it IS amazing what they can do nowadays!!
My favorite wine, BotaBox Nighthawk Black dark red blend, was not in its normal place on the shelf at the store yesterday. I take a hard look at the rest of the boxes and discovered BotaBox Nighthawk Gold - a buttery chardonnay.

My favorite white wine: a full bodied, buttery chard with minimal oak.

I'm in heaven.

Eek. I hope you feel better soon. I am sure you are right in that the actual case is...well unthinkable.

So it turns out I'm part of the 5% of people who get a significant reaction to the Shingrix vaccine. Today's joy was a torso rash to go along with the lethargy and chills. At least all the issues have been annoying, not life threatening, and from what I've heard having an actual case of shingles is WAY worse.
Late supplies for the allegedly early job meant a very late start for the entire day. Bleh. The fix? Defer one assignment until tomorrow. On the plus side, the weather is fine for a little road trip, there is a possibility of traipsing around in the open spaces and seeing interesting formations, and I have three cameras with me-- just in case.

Thanks. I woke up today with NO symptoms!

Leaving for my SB coffee with a group (whoever shows up), Kohl's sale(have a 30% coupon). Bumming around window shopping at Nordstrom rack, until my two groceries, need a few things in the house, so happy about that.
Quiet day, nice to have everything I do so close by with traffic this weekend crazy, I'll be home later doing whatever needs to be done. \

waiting for my hubby to get home our car dead and he is about 45 minutes away. His sister and brother in law went to get him.
KathyG, glad you are feeling better. My mom got shilgles on her face a few years ago and had a mimi stroke, almost losing her sight. As you said, a rash and chills would be annoying, but better than the alternative.

On a related note, does anyone know the reaction rates for the current chicken pox vaccine? I never had chicken pox, and when the vaccine first came out my doctor deemed it too dangerous for me to take (about 20% got c.p. from the original live virus version).
I had the chicken pox when I was in my early 20s. I think that was the sickest I have ever felt.

This area had a surprise rainstorm this afternoon. All of my windowsill plants are now on the balcony. The look so good! I now have:

Arugula, spinach and kale;
Tomatoes;
Basil;
Peas;
Lavender; and
Habaneros.

Quiet day. Early job was early. New pants fit perfectly. Merch job was quick and easy. Learned something from LiJake about the Memorial Day flag-- good to know.

Tomorrow, the HVAC folks are coming in to fix my AC. Lucky for me, they had a cancellation in the morning, so my PM appointment was changed to AM. I had to cancel a $4 food shop, but replaced it with 2 $7 phone shops.

My morning audit at a discount store proved fruitful. While chatting with the returns associate she mentioned a rug she had in the back taking up space. She said since it had been trampled by several shoppers and was dirty she'd mark it down to $1 if I would take it. I now have a wonderful shag rug for my living room.

Tonight will be spent monitoring flood levels. In another few inches my roommate's work place will become an island, and my Friday audit location will likely be closed.

The early job was early; the snow fell and fell and fell; and my plans to add shops for bonuses got lost in a snowdrift somewhere. So, I will stay close to home, get some sleep, do some exercise, and watch the porch dry. (What.)

Home doing some paper work, phone calls and still working on garage, then out to Chronic taco's.
No work, wasn't accepted for my take out at Lucille's BBQ,, way to many shoppers up here, use to get
it monthly...oh well, I won't starve.

Plumber was here this morning. Front outside hose bib no longer leaks. Doing laundry, cooking, signing up for more June shops, playing with Amtrak timetables for long distance route with bedroom and ensuite bathroom. I have a ton of Amtrak rewards points and am looking to get the most for them. Will combine with air travel paid for by SW airlines points. Maybe fly to Denver; train Denver-Sacramento; then train Sacramento-Seattle. Not quite a plan, so far.

Being nicely compensated for a one hour online chat session about my report for an Informa bank shop, done 2 months ago. The client wants to listen in while 5 shoppers discuss their reports for the same assignment with different targets. All moderated by the project manager from Informa. In June I will get to do 2 more of these. Informa sent a cc of my report, so that it is easy to spend 5 minutes refreshing my memory.

Then, I am off to home Depot to buy 6 square red pavers to install as a path in the small front garden, If there are sales, I may pick up a few more perennials. Then to Tuesday Morning for replacement gardening gloves. Laundry, deep conditioning my very dry hair.

The usual. Organize something. Clean something. Read something.

Mopping up the rain that blew in because I forgot to close a window, then off to the laundromat. After that I am planning an impromptu route, as my local plans for the next few days have been flooded out.
I made the dairy version ice cream in my new machine. The coconut ice cream was a hit. I experimented by putting a little bit of my homemade strawberry jam while it was churning and it turned out to be pure bliss.

Also, feeling elated since I got a brunch shop on Sunday and a fully reimbursed trip to a dairy and pig farm in Indiana. I have done two phone shops for this farm last year and I hope my daughter would love it.
