What are you doing today? (besides shopping)

I slept late and just finished coffee. Going upstairs to my sunroom/office to finish studying for the newest brand of gas stations I decided to take on. After that I have to go out and buy new cookie sheets, the old ones are finally too far gone. I'm going to make some green chili tostada's for dinner so I'll shop for that and clean the bathroom. Then it's going to be time for Survivor! Yayyyyy

I have to work this evening at my regular job I work on Weds in the church nursary. Clean house and loook for work. PLus three phone shops
A few months back, I had the electric company come out to do an audit. I wanted to know why my bills were so high. They said I needed a new heat pump. I got a home warranty the next day.

The tech came out today. It turns out that the pipe that runs the freon is leaking at a joint. It can be repaired. I don't need a new unit. YAY!!!!

I noticed during one of last week's rainstorms that the back gutter wasn't draining properly. Today I went out on the roof and cleaned out the offending gutter, which had a thick layer of maple seeds (some of which were already sprouting). YUK!

I am thinking about adding another shop for the weekend. However, I have not done this restaurant before, and I have not worked for the MSC for awhile. There are no references to the restaurant on this forum (I know this because I searched). Hmm. We have to eat during this little road trip. If the shop goes south, we will have eaten. Hmm. If we choose to dine at this shopped restaurant instead of bringing road trip food from home, we will spend more time for meal and report and end up with less time to enjoy that day's trip to nature. A few interesting natural formations are conveniently located between yon city and home. I would like to maximize my time there... Hmm... Nature probably will win... but you never know...

Today brings home duties, laundry, trying to improve garage and such. Rained all night, what a surprise, our weather goes from 80% to 68% and rain...what's up with that? Guess it's time to make a homemade soup,
not going out, we'll see how that goes.

My calculus students took the AP exam earlier this week. Now, we are taking it easy for a couple of days and watching "Hidden Figures."

Hard work builds character and homework is good for your soul.
Nature won! We are going to make the most of the limited time that we have to be outdoors, in nature, getting little on-the-fly geography lessons, and enjoying the season.

This leaves a few open opportunities for other shoppers to make their deals and do the assignments. Everyone wins.

Reactivating old MSC accounts for 2 companies I haven't shopped in years. Then doing some cooking, my favorite day off pastime.
Today at a senior community store the associate handed me a box on my way out, saying it was a present 'from the chef'. Inside was a miniature chocolate bundt cake with chocolate icing. There just happens to be vanilla ice cream in the freezer which would go perfectly with the cake. Wasn't planning on having dessert with dinner tonight, but........

Tonight I am going to Newcomer Supper , we are having a talk on Mefical Mary Jane this month. I have also take a picture of a swap I recived. I cleaned the house and made the bed.
School is over! Well, until two weeks from now.

Today, I had a morning and afternoon shop. In between, I did my paper for school and tried to set up my Fire Stick TV. Something went squirrely, and I knocked out my wifi settings.

Tomorrow, I will get paint to do my accent wall. My friend is coming over on Wednesday to mount my TV on the wall. I hope I can get him to fix my settings.

Time to look for a paint color. I keep changing my mind.

We (meaning I) will do touch-up painting next week or the following week. I like this project. It takes a few minutes and at this time of year, the paint dries quickly. After that, there will be time to paint something on canvas. I designated some of a previous year's mystery shop earnings to purchase art supplies. Now, I can use them! In a perfect world, I would be selling art as I go and building a little self-sustaining art business. But... well... I will need more practice... and probably a few more shops to pay for a few more art supplies... The good news is that I have a few more assignments planned between now and the beginning of the annual hiking/fishing/get inspired for landscape paintings season.

I just got an email about an artist supply store shop in my area. The pay isn't much, but I'll do it if I happen to be in the area. They let you return your purchase, which I usually do because I'm not an artist.

@honny, I as well when moving in, had a wall or three painted, going upstairs from garage a deep maroon to go with drapes...looks great, I love the look, and in my bedroom I have sand color carpet and did wall behind bed sand, very designerish (if you will). Still looks good many years later. Buy a good paint and have fun picking colors.

Today having major problems with my eye allergies, Dr. Appt. next Tuesday, hoping its the allergy and not the Glaucoma which would mean surgery.....sad smiley

I'm busily rescheduling already overdue shops. Gotta love springtime in tornado alley!
That was such a good movie! I had the pleasure of seeing it at NASA HQ.

I picked up a last minute hardware store shop. I was all prepared to go in with my "paint my living room" scenario. It turns out, they were a nursery. I went into mild overload.

The reimbursement was $5. I picked up tomato cages that I thought were $4. They were $13. Aldi's has them for $2. I got a $4 habanero plant instead.

Silly day. It was like three days crammed into one. The good news, or perhaps the moral of the story, is that a good merchandiser remembers to keep a merch kit in every car. Or, What Happens When a Kit Does Not Contain the One Tool That Unlocks the Daily Merchandising Universe...

There are upcoming training sessions for mystery shoppers in which talented and knowledgeable people teach mystery shoppers how to be this shopper/not that shopper and this video shopper/not that video shopper. [Sounds a bit like the Romper Room song, 'do be a do bee, don't be a don't be. Hmm.] It seemed appropriate to give a nod to all the good merchandisers who always have a tool kit at hand. Hero citations for all of you good merchandisers! Aspiring merchandisers should be like you! grinning smiley

Exhaustive day, I didn't know they started the Amgen bike ride , they rode 76 miles, from our town and every street was closed. I couldn't get home for three hours and they started at our mall, so all parking was closed to public. I had to sit in SB with friends until noon when it was over...geez. My jobs are now on for tomorrow.

Trying to decide: nap? cook? go to John Wick 3 & find out what happens to him now? go to mountains and try to get in and out before a predicted storm? read?

Loads of laundry to fold. Made an elaborate meal for lunch. Trying to get everything done today for a smoother week. Maybe will learn a new song on the keyboard with my little girl. The mixed weather signals have delayed my plans for a new garden. I feel like Olaf today.
Resolved. Stay home, do laundry, clean car, and cook something. Yawn. But useful.

I painted my living room accent wall a beautiful blue. Now to find the right shade of gray for the remaining walls.

I planted my canna bulbs and did some other yard work. Had a lovely FaceTime chat with son, DIL, and grandson. Went to a picnic-the wind was so strong pieces of lettuce flew off my plate!

Wondering what happened to the storm that was predicted. Perhaps it will disrupt my porch time later. For now, this is a good thing. Hoping that everyone is safe in their worlds.

Loving a book by Mary Williams. It is early pages in The Lost Daughter, and the story is still describing slummy aspects of the Oakland of late 1960s and early 1970s. I am aware of more of her story, and I am eager to read her description of what happens next in her life. She has written other books, and I will look for those after I finish this one.

Manicure, return at Macy's, hanging out at their lovely outside , read and people watch until it's time for my lunch at The Habit. Home to continue cleanup of garage, and study for bank job tomorrow, we have had rain, so everything is clean, spring showers grow the flowers.

Went to my granddaughter's dance recital. I did an apt shop first. Next day I had 3 shops in 3 cities. Busy weekend. We have blossoms on tomato plant and jalapeno plants. Got a small chicken coop for free, needs minor repairs. Can't wait for fresh eggs again.
