What are you doing today? (besides shopping)

Work. Grocery. Nap. Workout. Work.

Found someone else who is experiencing what I am... they taught me a little something that might be helpful. Gotta go. It is nap time!!!!!

Hubby & I got back yesterday after spending a couple of days up in NC to see our new grandson, along with 3 and a half yr old granddaughter and son & DIL. My 4 week old grandson is adorable and all, but man....when I'm sitting with my 3 1/2 yr old granddaughter on the couch, just me and her, with my arm around her, and she's looking DEEP into my eyes with her beautiful blue eyes, and says, "Grandma, I love you" .... WOW!!! What can beat that????
Spent a magical weekend in the Central Valley of California for Oldest Son's wedding. The reception was at a lavender farm, and there was plenty of room for the little ones to run around. Sunday afternoon we drove back to Middle Son's house in Santa Clara, and spent today traveling back home.

Happy early morning! Weather has disrupted the early job, and I have some free time. I... did thirty percent of the daily workout goal; cleaned something; re-worked the budged; and read a little something edifying. If I do not go back to bed, I will reach into a shelf of yet-to-reads and get... well, that is for me to know and for you to find out (if I like the book and feel like mentioning it).

I am curling up around hot tea and a good book (and a fuzzy cat). The severe pollen levels finally took me out. I got ultra-rapid onset bronchitis yesterday...from "feeling great" to coughing so hard I gag, all in less than 4 hours. Yuck. Thankfully the rain should was most of it out of the air...for now.
I'm not cheap.

Today is my wife's birthday so I made her a strawberry pie with her Mom's recipe. My first two crusts were disastrous so I had to go to the store and buy some. Now I have a spare perfect one. Later we will all pile up on the couch and watch movies.
Bit of a problem, self-assigned late last night a Manicure/Pedicure in Santa Monica (70 miles RT), have to make an appointment and site has no phone #. Looked it up and no one by that name, tons of others in other locations, nothing for the address given. Have frantically emailed owner to no avail. Site says it has to be done today.......and I want to do it, but...... hoping they can extend date.

Live consciously....
Work, go home, water veges and herbs, play with dogs, watch a little Netflix with my sister.
Problem solved, wrong name given on site, so now I have correct info., made my appt. for tomorrow...mani/pedi, here I come.

Glad it worked out, Irene. Even if I wasn't coughing and sneezing today, I would have had to reschedule. I'm not fond of dodging tornadoes.
I actually went shopping today, but not for work. I went to Macy's and got some cute tops and some nice heavy highball glasses. My husband is taking me out for dinner so no cooking and no dishes!
Lucky you!

While we were out of town we had Youngest Son cat sit until he had to fly out to join us for his brother's wedding. In six days he managed to turn the kitchen into quite the bachelor pad! And on top of his mess, one of the cats must have stepped into the litter box with wet paws because there were paw prints all over the kitchen floor. It took me two complete rounds on the large floor to get it relatively clean.

Kids and cats...I am familiar with those issues.
I had what our British friends would call a "lie in," not rising until nearly 10 AM! This is how I love to celebrate that EOM or EOQ MS craziness is finally over. Later, the last of the volunteers is coming to dig yet more rouge day lilies out of my front garden. Then, taking a non-driver neighbor with me on a run to grocery and wine stores. This looks to be an ideal day to sit down on my deck (off the living room) and pull all of the small weeds (an army of them!) that have invaded the large planter out there. It is cool and overcast, with super heat and humidity promised starting tomorrow. Soon.... a trip to 2 local garden stores, hunting for perennials for the front garden.

I spent a long time having coffee and chatting with the spouse. Then awhile applying for shops. Now I'm rummaging around the computer playing a game or two. In a few minutes I'll go out and start mowing the lawn before the thunderstorms get here. I hope to get time to plant a big beautiful hosta that my friend/neighbor gave me.
My first shop this morning was at 4am. I took advantage of my insomnia and did homework until 9:30. I went for a fitness walk in my neighborhood. I explored a new trail and got home at 11:15. Of course, I left my FitBit on the charger. The 11:15 is important because my shop had to be done by noon.

Went for a drive in the middle of nowhere. That was wonderful! Made a list of ever more little tasks and projects to do. Made a timeline for their completion. Bleh! But necessary. The leg is much improved, and I had to stop using it as an excuse for not doing last year's work. As a reward, I promised myself an entire afternoon of watching Brit stuff, another little trip into the middle of nowhere, and an entire morning on the porch. Finally! The motivation that works! grinning smiley

Someone said lucky me to my ManiPedi....well, seems Michele Obama spoke at the U.C.L.A graduation today and there I was trying to get to my next job after my manicureI had to drive through Westwood where ucla is.
Took one hour to go a mile on Wilshire Blvd. and I never got there, was so pissed I went home...someone's gonna be mad at me, i swear I tried, security everywhere directing traffic....if I may vent, traffic over there is not what I ever want to do, no money is worth it.
p.s. this vent keeps me from going to therapy....

Taking vehicle for radiator flush and fill. Then, time for a perm, to tame my unruly hair. Kitchen clean-up before making supper. Tomorrow, begin May shops.

Grocery store, not a shop. Porch time. Giggle about the forum squabbles and post a new siggy in honor of us.

I had such a fruitful day shopping!

Ace Hardware: I picked up some blades for my utility knife. In doing my walk through, I saw what plants I want to put in the ground next year.

Crate & Barrel: I bought a knife that was covered by the reimbursement. I also saw the furniture set that I want. I will most likely get the furniture elsewhere.

Goodwill: I bought a beautiful Tahari pantsuit. It was placed with the regular clothes, as opposed to the couture. It was over reimbursement, but the fee for the shop covers the cost.
