What are you doing today? (besides shopping)

The Sears idea is a good one. Unfortunately, Sears is evaporating here. The nearest Sears store (of any type) is more than an hour away from me.

I had so much time today that I napped, did errands, finished a huge project at home, and finished a book. If every day were like this, and the early job were actually early, I would soon run out of projects and be free to do what I really, really, really reeeeaaaallllllyyyyy want to do.

My renter fell through. He is moving back to North Carolina.

It's amazing how quickly I spent his money!

I have 3 Five Guys shops scheduled for tomorrow and Saturday, all bonused $12-$14. I love it when the schedulers don't talk to each other.

I got a phone call today about doing a job over the weekend. NO bonus! Said I couldn't do it for that price, and they said they'd call me next time.

Aaaaawwwww..... the early job is not so early today. I will lose about three hours of 'me' time'. Fortunately, I have only one local assignment which is quick to do and easy to report. The day will be okay but less productive than yesterday. Oh, well.

They've gotten me used to bonuses also. The highest was $25. I really hope to see that again!

Yes! I'm a my rewards member also. I believe you get 5% in rewards on your purchase. I just got a new wifi router/modem. It's my birthday month so I got an additional 10% off. I shopped through ebates so I will get 2% cash back also. Sweet!

I bought my fridge through Best Buy as well as T.V's, computers, etc., as I have a rewards program there with cash back and no interest for 18 months. They have sale's as well, but I'll shop around in a couple weeks.

Just booked my first 18 April shops. 11 more March shops to go this month. Since one is a Hala Guys carryout, with $25 reimbursement, I will have suppers for several nights during EOQ madness week.

Oddly enough, my local Best Buy beat the Sears Outlet price, including delivery and installation, on a great new Samsung top load washer. Huge capacity (yeh, can was my quilts!), many cycles, water miser, and emery efficient). Will finalize the order today and open an account to get easy, no interest payment at the sale price. Stationary tub in my laundry room means there is no room to open the door on a front load washer. Glad to have found a top loader with similar frugal energy habits.

Homeowners wrote me a letter to change patio hose for one smaller, seems mine is now an eyesore, guess someone complained, problem being I can't get the old one off. Have to trace a man down, already bought new hose, so one project for the day. The smallest project becomes the hardest since I have wrist pain and can't use my left wrist. Giving old clothes away, haven't sold a thing I listed on online. Seems the more I try and do lately, the less gets done..."(

Work. Assignment. Communing w/ scheduler regarding more assignments.

Forgot a camera, so took critter pics with the phone. I needed a camera and lenses, and I really should have been on the opposite side of where I was positioned, but that place was inaccessible
Oh, well. Maybe next time.

One shop and worked at the regular job. Mowed a little. Time to mess with a new recipe.
I did a Meet Up at Goodwill. They opened the store early for the group. The group host gave us a 50% off coupon.

When I walked in, I headed straight for the household goods section. I did some damage, but not to my wallet.

My daughter is now up North in Palo Alto visiting a good friend/associate who got a job with google, same town my sister's Assisted Living home is at, and she visited..today she will skype me, and I will see both my daughter and my sister who is another world (literally) and my daughter says she keeps asking for me. She was moved to the Alzheimer's section, so for me, aging means both my ex and my sister are suffering with this horrific disease.
Everyday is a wonder for me and I appreciate the smallest details, and happy I am aware of what's going on in my life and the world.

wales that is awesome! It really does pay to shop around.

Worked at the regular shop, 3 mystery shops, laundry, and another new recipe which involves ham.
I made some crab legs for dinner. They were oh, sooo good! My Veggie, Cheese and Bacon sandwich will be lunch tomorrow and Tuesday.

This is Day 2 of a 3-day "shopping spree". I feel it my bones and everywhere else! But the good news is that tomorrow is day 3, payments will roll in during the next few weeks, and I can go to the chiro on day 4 and get a little adjustment.

I set out to use mystery shopping to replace revenue from one of the other jobs. This had potential: greater variety, no cubicle, no scripts (except for a few shop givens) and better hours. I made the money, had some fun, and got tired. I am as tired now as I was when I had late shifts followed by the daily early morning work. Fortunately, I have three months in which to ponder the meaning of EOQ and whether I would like to do this again or not. I will sleep on it...

My K-Cup tomato plants have sprouted. That motivated me to plant some sugar snap peas in repurposed K-Cups. At the end of April, I will move them to pots, and put them outside.

My next venture will be chili peppers.

The windowsill salad is growing nicely.

Edited for typing before coffee.

Honny, Unless you cage those plants in chicken wire the squirrels and birds will have a feast. And, as I can testify, deer LOVE cilantro and lettuce. Good luck!

Honny, so glad your indoor gardening is "sprouting" so well!!

I'm just waiting for my son to call or text me to say my DIL has gone into labor for the birth of their second child, my grandson. Her due date is April 6, but at her last OB visit last Friday, her Dr said that she was 2 cm dilated, and since the baby's head is down, if she doesn't deliver by March 31st, they would be glad to induce her on April 1st. My DIL said YES to that! (Her first experience with L&D was in Ga, and it was NOT GOOD!! Now they are in NC, and they REALLY LOVE their OB provider!!) So, since she was 2 cm on last Friday, I'm hoping she'll go before April 1st.....and back up to NC I'll go!!!!
Awwww.... everything is busting out all over for everyone, and it isn't even June yet!

wales, my Dad said the exact same thing. He is a great gardener, but when he started talking stakes and cages, I got lost.

Time to ask dad for specific advice, Honny. Now that you have the plants thriving, there is no better time to gain from his knowledge. Just ask him to explain it in "baby steps," You will be fine and he will be proud.

Today, no work, so waiting for a little rain will bring me home continuing my cleanup of closets, put a chicken breast and black beans in a crock pot at 2:00am, house smells great, early lunch/dinner, and various duties at home. Enjoying my chocolate/raspberry coffee now and watching the news and playing on computer.. Booked trip to San Francisco for next month to visit my sister and family...always satisfying and been way too long.

Contemplating more shops. If they are still available when it is more convenient for me to do them, I will do them. If they are not, I will continue to work on little projects at home.

The looming project involves condensing voluminous verbiage into a pithy paragraph. This will take awhile... grinning smiley

Good news about today that just happened is, I got an email from an MSC I work with, go onto site and (very strange), but instead of showing my 30 mile radius like always, I see many jobs at San Francisco airport paying well just when I'll be flying in...applied for a Mustard's breakfast, an amazing Napa Valley restaurant and a bar audit for when I leave. Timing is everything.....trip paid for......

Went to the gym yesterday and today after not being there for a couple of weeks. Now I have sore muscles in several parts of my body :-)

Busy day here. Highlights, grocery shopping, and official first draft of the looming writing project. The sample first draft showed me how much is needed, where and why.

But enough blah-blah. (That is good practice for truncating, I mean editing, my work.)

Everyone has such interesting news! It seems like everyone is perking up. Could it be that there is Springtime in the soul?

*eta*
I made it through the second official draft. Then, I made a dozen or so changes and could 'see' the document begin to emerge. This is much better than I anticipated it would be. Huzzah!

Spring is definitely in the air with a promise of "April showers" on the way yet sunny and fabulous (no wind).
Flowers blooming, birds chirping and me ready to meet the world...oh my Irene, get a grip....
