What are you doing today? (besides shopping)

This morning brings a coffee "date", then errands and my usual running around...with a casual work dinner at 6:00, My renter is bringing his daughters over to meet me, he is caring for them this weekend, then T.V., fuzzing around the house and trying to stay warm.

Just my usual Saturday house-cleaning. Plus I washed 2 loads of clothes. Will make a couple of desserts later on for the coming week. Two versions of "A Star Is Born" are on TCM this evening....the Judy Garland one comes on at 10 pm (Eastern). I'll be done everything by then, and hubby will be in bed by then, so I'll enjoy watching that before I go to sleep!
After my shops today, I went to pick up a dog crate I found on Freecycle. It was too big for my car. The owner came home just as I got out of my car. He tried to put it in my Juke, and it wouldn't fit. He offered to bring it to my house tomorrow. I met his dog.

Laundry, laundry and more laundry. Since my 3 oldest kids couldn't do their laundry on their laundry days due to a malfunctioning dryer, I told them that I would do it for them today. A week's worth of laundry for six people (3 of whom are teens; 2 of whom are stinky teen boys in sports....) was 8 loads plus one white load. It took all day

Between loads, I packed. We are closing on our house on March 4
New plan. Early job began very, very late. It needs a new name. Hmm... Can't get a life job... Yeah, yeah, yeah, it''s even later somewhere else job... Breakfast at noon is the new thing job...

So the hubby identified a replacement vehicle It is a newer version of the old one! I would like a change. We'll see. grinning smiley

I was craving a Cheese and Veggie sandwich, so I went to Five Guys on my own dime. There were no shops on the board today that were near my job.

No receipt
No fries
No drink

I received a 25.00 gift card from Dining Advantage only to go to a place for 50% off Cannoli's handmade and close to home....well, place is now another name on door, and closed. Second time this has happened, beware.
Staying home doing sheet laundry and a bit of getting rude of.....more clothes, trying to sell a leather jacket from Italy....

Thanks for the heads up Irene. How are you feeling?

I'm fine, as soon as I threw that JITB away, I was fine.

Oddball day here-- nothing was as planned. But get this: the early job began and ended early. Huzzah!

JIB, if I remember correctly, is very good hangover food. Without the hangover, it does the body bad!

As the local JIB expert, I can state, with confidence, that JIB food is not good for anything.

MF, how did you do 31 shops in one day? I mean, how did you handle the food?

Have decided to do a little today's trivia. I want to compare the published nutritional information for Jack in the Box foods with that of other restaurants. From all the way out here- (hours from the nearest Jack- it looks like there should be no substantial difference. For all such places, there are burgers, dogs, sides, salad meals, condiments, and beverages. Why, then, does the "Eat This, Not That" expert recommend some foods over others? Is any brand recommended more or less than others?

Bur first, I need to test drive cars. We must replace the old beast soon. As long as the new-to-us vehicle is intact, in cash range, and running well, I will put aside all preferences and just get a car, already. *prays for something that does not glow in the dark, reek, or otherwise stand out in a crowd*

All you have to eat is enough to taste on fry and determine the saltiness. Questions about temperature and juiciness can be answered with look and feel.

I gave as much of the food away to homeless folks as I could. (The scheduler suggests this.)

On a side note... all those JIB’s I did on my route are up around $15 again.... if that hit that $18 -$20 range....

Wait. You stated that the JITB food is not good for anything and that a scheduler recommends that you give it to homeless persons. If the JITB food is so inappropriate, why is anyone recommending that you give it to homeless persons? What did homeless person do to deserve that? Tell me the answer slowly because I am still pre-caffeinated...

Went to Great Clips on Friday to get a hair cut. I have very long hair and to my surprise, the woman said that all I can get is a trim. I was hoping to get a layered hair cut but she said that was not a good idea. Hmmm, never had that problem back home. I was enjoying my Friday at Ross when I had to pick DD from school. She had a 101 fever. She is still at home and on the mend. The whole weekend was miserable wiping and cleaning vomity floors.
Okay, I understand. I wouldn't have a problem with the fries.

Homeless people actually took the meals?

After work, I'm going to the shelter to pick out a dog.

Gearing up for my weekend service-stocking and staffing a Hospitality room for a conference this weekend. Approximately 50 people for snacks and continental breakfast.

How much is that doggie in the shelter... so it's not Doris Day. It's just a singing way to begin the day. HonnyBrown, what can you tell us about your new fluffy love?

Have negotiated for unpaid time off from one of the jobs. Bottom line: I need to sleep! lack of sleep for years and years and years is bad for me. I think I have spent more for medical care and otc products for all the cruds than I earned at the job. That is a bad thing. (The job schedules are not compatible with sufficient sleep.) When I return, I will work fewer hours and never at night. This is a good thing.

It was easy to make up the missing money: salon services are postponed, more energy means more grocery efficiency and cooking in batches which saves oodles of bucks (don't laugh!), and unusual/occasional expenses were paid for last month. Go me, Specifically, go me back to bed for awhile...

SEA...have you tried to take "one" Melatonin two hours before bed....it relaxes the brain and is a natural substance. I'd be a basket case without my eight hours.

Today is coffee with a friend to share some news, library, have to do some work on their computer, perhaps a new book. Sprouts to pick up a few things on their Wednesday sale. Making a huge salad for the next couple days, boring, I know.......but, I got a friend request on Facebook from a born San Franciscan (like me), and we shared experiences from the old days, and expecting a phone call tonight....had fun returning to my old stomping grounds, connection made.

Thank you. Irene. When I am available for sleep, I can sleep. The issue was that working at night left me with only 3-4 hours of sleep before the early job. My life works best when I get between midnight and 1 am and either go directly to work or have "me" time then. This has not been possible for several years. If all goes well, I will be well-rested soon. smiling smiley

No doggie in the house yet. I saw a few on the shelter's website that I like. I got to the shelter, and one was taken (the owner found him). The other's weren't there. I saw one in person that I liked, a Siberian Husky. He had an application on him already. I came home and looked up the traits for Siberian Huskies. That would not be a good dog for me.

The dog that was taken was a Shiba Ibu. I liked the dog's traits, so I'm going to focus on that breed.

The ones that weren't available were Cockapoos. They were too cute for words.

My first dog was a Cockapoo, oh she was the best, her name was Shani, which means Pretty girl in Jewish.
Today is Bank, paying bills, manicure, return and cooking, beside bringing clothe's to garage for pickup. Quiet day.....watching Trumps Atty. in court, they say he lied to congress once again, geez!!!!

Happy Thursday! Quiet day here-- until the refrigerator door bar broke off and condiments crashed to the floor. Fortunately, there are almost unlimited ways to configure the contents of a refrigerator. STEM, schmem! Just put the 'fridge back together after something like this, and you will demonstrate spatial reasoning and who knows what else you should now know in order to be up-to-date! grinning smiley

Laundry, change bed linens, kitchen excavation and clean up, new watch battery, Aldi run, think about what to defrost to cook tomorrow and Saturday for next week's suppers. For the first night in more than 2 weeks I was able to sleep without coughing my head off, without Nyquil. Cold finally abating. Soooo much deferred hausfrau-ing to do !!!
