What are you doing today? (besides shopping)

Today finds me dieting (big time), always gain those 3/4 pds. and work harder every year to lose them.
Seeing if mall is crowded, may go, saw advertised a cashmere shawl, take a look, that's why I don't buy
clothes online, want to see the fabric and know it fits. Working tomorrow, Monday and Tuesday, so, today is
yet another "fun" day.

Reading a new-to-me author. So far, so good! I came across something from Al-anon which resonated with me, and at least for a few minutes i am considering a one-year hiatus from ms'ing. Picture it: 'Just for 2019, I will not be a fault-finder. Neither for "love" nor for money will I set out to discover, measure, record, or otherwise deal with any faults other than mine own. If, miraculously, I have a free moment after dealing with my own self, I shall spend the time in arts, recreation, or work which does not purport to set me up as a regulating or improving agent regarding anybody or anything other than my self and my life.' Hmm. At the very least, I would have time for all workouts and no excuses for missing even one workout.

I looked at my Samsung phone yesterday and saw that the back is coming apart from the body. I call Verizon to see what specials they are offering. The automated system sends a code because I can't remember my pin. After being on hold, I tell James that I need a new phone. He acknowledges that I have been verified, and asks me to create a PIN. I respectfully declined because I never remember them.

He hung up on me.

I went to eBay and got the phone I wanted for the price I wanted.

Nice work, HonnyBrown! I am completely snowed in. This is not quite as fun as a snow day because instead of having authorization to play hooky from school, we experience a domino effect (see? I did not use the punny snowball effect) for all jobs for the next week. This happens every year at least twice. It's okay So far, I have established six alternate travel plans for my IC work, read oodles of op-ed online, and done a workout. The op-ed was the most fun-- and enlightening, amusing, saddening, and interesting. Well-written letters and columns are priceless.

Today I go to meet my "cronies" at SB for our Sunday chat, then my Kroger's right next door (lucky me).
Back to SB to do report, then perhaps a trip to the mall to see what I can see. ...and the beat goes on.....

The weather's going to change today, with a cold front bring rain and falling temperatures. This morning Hubby and I combined a walk with the weekly produce run. Got home, ate lunch, and it started drizzling. Great timing!

Also looking for shops to pair with already-assigned ones for micro-mini routes.

I had some good timing. Normally working on Sunday is not my preference. I had a quick route of video shops at stores opening at 9 am. Got my grocery shopping done and was home in time to take down the outdoor Thanksgiving decorations then blow all the leaves off the patio, front porch and walk while it was just misting. No sooner did I put everything away than the rain picked up it's pace. The Christmas decoration will have to wait until it warms up again later in the week.

Never try to teach a pig to sing. It's a waste of your time and it really annoys the pig.
The weather has been brutal here. Snow everywhere. School is off for the day. Husband's working from home. Trying to get a few phone shops done, cooking and cleaning in between. Also, DD is learning to tell time so busy with that too. Got a nice clock from amazon where she can move the hands and write and erase time. She got a Peppa Pig book on Black Friday and she keeps reading the "Tooth Fairy and Peppa!"
Heading out on a road trip to do nicely bonused shops in a city about an hour to the west of here. It's cold, but the sun is shining and it's going to be a great day!

My cleaning crew is coming later, so I'll go to Macy's and look for some warm jammies, home this morning taking care of paperwork.

I am taking a red-eye tonight and heading to Florida to go spend time with my mom. Cancer is back and her living across the country stinks

Thanksgiving was so mush fun. Worth the drive there and back. I left Friday and had shops Sat and Sun. Really nice month which is great for one of the big bills running half a month behind. Now I can catch up. Things are finally looking up. Have two big bills paid off in May and June. I'm ready to work work 6 days a week instead of 7.

So sorry to hear that about your mom! I hope she can get treatment to squelch its progression. I am a breast cancer survivor, so I have empathy for anyone going through cancer. In the back of your mind, the thought of the cancer returning NEVER goes away fully! ~Hugs~ to you and your mom!
@Lauraphx,

I'm so sorry to hear about your mom! Sending hugs and healing thoughts to you both
Thank you! Cancer is such a horrible disease. @guysmom I am glad you are a survivor, it's a tough battle, both emotionally and physically. My mom got diagnosed with pancreatic cancer just over a year ago, was officially in remission for 2 months and a month later a tumor grew, despite the chemo. I know the stats on this cancer and she's started radiation (and she's a fighter) so it's the hurry up and wait game to see if she is responding to treatment.
The wheels fell off of my nicely-bonused day when the targeted agent at the apartment community wouldn't answer the phone. Tried emailing and calling the MSC, but when they hadn't responded after 90 minutes I cut bait and ran, cancelling the shop. I don't even want to think about my hourly rate for all the driving I did, but the sun WAS still shining and it WAS still a great day.

You, your mom, and your whole family are in my prayers.

The loan estimate on the condo came back much lower than I initially expected due to the appraisal. Closing is still tentative for Friday. I liquidated a brokerage account (not a 401(k)) for the closing costs. The only thing I'm waiting for is the approval to close.

Wishing you both the best.

Today is a fun day with a great breakfast job in Beverly Hills (my favorite), great food, huge reimbursement,good fee, then walking the streets looking at the windows, old stomping grounds, a day in the city...does it get better?

Yes, I'm sure she is a fighter!! I will pray for your mom and you!
Lauraphx - Lots of luck and prayers for your mom. Such a terrible disease. The treatment is so hard on the body. Thankfully they have small breakthroughs every year on most kinds. Really hope to see substantial progress soon.
We're celebrating Christmas in mid-December because everyone is coming in for Youngest Son's college graduation on December 15th. That will be a very full day, with present opening and an extended family dinner on the 16th. I'm trying to cook as much food as I can in advance. Today I cooked a bottom round roast in the crock pot for French dip and baked a turkey breast. Both will be sliced tomorrow and put into the freezer.

KathyG, That sounds like a fun time of celebration and holiday all rolled into one! You'll probably be pooped when it's all over! But then, you can just enjoy Christmas day as a nice, quiet time....hopefully! Have fun!
Christmas will be interesting. We've never done anything like this before.

In between finishing a bunch of reports and uploading video I will be:
conducting an archaeological dig in my home office;
sorting an tidying stuff in my kitchen;
Christmas shopping on line;
"cooking ahead" for the next few days of meals.

Based in MD, near DC
Shopping from the Carolinas to New York
Have video cam; will travel

Poor customer service? Don't get mad; get video.
Guess what.....it's raining, it's pouring, mudslides galore, but not here...so today I'm staying in, laundry, bit of garage cleanup, more clothes going bye bye, total house day, + getting a ton of jobs for my Vegas trip, so sorting that out, computer work...will be doing my first nightclub, phone call from Vegas, etc.
