A little road trip through the wide open spaces, A little work. A lot of pleasure in the wide open spaces.

Slept in this morning til 9:30. Husb brought me green tea because when I finally did wake up, I was stuffy and coughing. Guess I caught some crud.

Made my kids clean their rooms (I guess that means *I* cleaned rooms after I got sick and tired of being in a supervisory role which meant I had to WAIT for them to do this and that...and had to keep TELLING them what was expected. You would think kids would learn this after being told 365 times a year), but my oldest did vacuum my stairs and landings for me, so that was nice.

Went to Costco to get turkey for Tgiving. Husb and I also each bought two pairs of sweats because we're hoping to start going to the gym. It's funny because we are a little older, and as we were walking out of the store with these super thick sweat pants...and TWO pairs each, no less...I thought to myself, (only half jokingly), ""Gee, these sweats may last us the rest of our lives..." ugh. I told him my thought and he was a little less amused smiling smiley

Also did some shops. Enjoyed test driving a cadillac, but it didn't really pay all that well.
OH, NO! Hope you have better luck the second time.

I found out this morning that I received an F on my midterm. I didn't read the assignment requirements, and was graded accordingly. Thankfully, my professor told me to resubmit the assignment. I have a solid A in the class, so he knows I am not a flake when it comes to schoolwork.

Headed 100 miles southwest to pick up a custom order stained glass garden brick. Last week I reached out to a couple of schedulers to try to find jobs along the way with no luck. So I just get to make the drive for fun. The store is in Son #3's college town, so will take him out to lunch while I'm there.

Today brings me shopping for daughters Channakah gift, early this year starting Dec. 3rd. I asked what she wanted and we decided on nice fresh soap/bath stuff. They have spa balls and she loves her baths, so blueberry/coconut soap and more goodies, then popped into Macy's sale, and found a great top she'll love, good buy, and well made designer....better to holiday shop before holidays...mailing it tomorrow, target had matching card and paper, fun, so much fun. I'm only allowed to send clothes twice a year, she wants me to spend my $$
on myself or save it for my "old age"...haha

Work, errands, and house tasks. I have only a little time for a new-to-me book. One part of this book deals with kindness. Even a few minutes may do some good. Wish me kindness!

After a rather complex mortgage shop, lunch with a shopper buddy at a good Tex-Mex restaurant. I always have enough enchiladas to bring home dinner for tomorrow night !

Post office, stores, later grocery shop, find something yummy for dinner, home to do report and sweep garage...
wind has brought many leaves and dust to which I am allergic. Watching fires and which way the wind blows, so far our development and home in Calabasas were safe ...T.V. computer, maybe a forum discussion to which I can contribute will turn up, who knows? Wishing kindness for homes and lives lost, brush will grow back. Many copy cat fires breaking out with a new one overnight in a different area. Can't wait to say goodbye to Nov. Beautiful day here today.

We're supposed to get our first significant snow tonight and tomorrow. (Depending on what source you listen to, it will be somewhere between 1-7 inches "depending on how the storm tracks". I love how meteorologists cover their butts.) The area is in panic mode. I transferred all of my apartment shop visits to today, and will spend tomorrow doing reports and cooking.

Kathy, what area are you in ?
Here we expect our first sleet and freezing rain to disrupt tomorrow's morning commute. I have shops scheduled, but if the county closes the schools due to road condition, that is my signal to stay home and reschedule.

Counting down the days to my Wisconsin Wilderness trip. I need this vacation desperately.
I live in a suburb of St . Louis. Normally we don't get significant snow until December, and the past two winters have had very little white stuff.

I have a shop scheduled at the National Gallery of Art Pavilion Cafe. I may have to reschedule if the Federal Government is closed.

Oh no. I have a huge route up there this weekend. Ouch.
It's supposed to be in the upper 40s on Friday and Saturday, so if we get any snow it should go away quickly.

(BTW, inquiring minds want to know where you're from.)

We ended up getting about five inches of snow at my house. People here don't know how to drive in the stuff, so I'm glad I didn't have to go out this morning. The storm moved on, the sun's out, and I'm trying to decide if I want to take myself out to dinner.

Feeling good and tired. I am working on yet another of the seemingly endless projects. This one involves sorting, rearranging, donating, storing, and tossing. It is satisfying to know what stays and what goes. I love the prospect of time and space for something else that might signify or accompany me into the future.

Today is church, eyebrow threading, wine run.

One quick shop. Making cranberry nut bread; doing more laundry. Maybe a quick grocery run to pick up items that I forgot to add to the Friday grocery list. The only shop is down the street from a huge grocery store. Carefully scheduling my remain November shops; and rescheduling in at least 2 cases. When rescheduling due to bad weather I somehow piled too many complex financial/bank shops, spread across waaay to much territory, all into one day. Fortunately, those shops are for Q4, not just for November and the schedulers are all pros, so I do not anticipate problems.

I'm going to walk to the craft show at a nearby high school to look for a couple of Christmas presents and get some exercise at the same time. Also weekly produce run. Husband has been gone since Thursday morning but scheduled to return tonight about 6. He usually cooks dinner on Sunday, but I will throw something together and have it waiting when he gets home.

Story of my life. I always forget that weather + holidays + overbooked = disaster.
It's so beautifully sunny today that I feel like taking a walk, but the brilliant sun is deceiving because it's only 33 degrees...just enough to hear all the ICE from last night melt on the roof.

We didn't get snow, but we had an "ice age freeze." I went out last night with husb to get out of the house and drive for an iced tea. The doors on the car were frozen shut; had to climb in through the back door of the van to go anywhere. The mailbox door was frozen shut, even. There were INCHES of ice on things!
Today i'm picking up a Turkey and some misc things for Thanksgiving. Also going to the dealership to see if they can help me get out of my lease. I leased my car 2 years ago before i started MSing, and big mistake on my part, i'm going over my mileage (obviously) and still have 8 months left on the lease
@walesmaven, I can smell your cranberry nut bread baking and I'm drooling! smiling smiley

@KathyG, I love those craft shows and getting out for a walk and being in the sunshine does so much for how you feel that day...hope you find some great things there!

@Lauraphx, good luck with that! I hope they let you out of your lease early and all goes well with that. What type of car do you drive? We're thinking of maybe getting another car in the next few months....part of why being a shopper is awesome...get to test drive and learn about so many features of diff vehicles...
@Jill_L thank you! I've been stressing over this! Right now i'm in a Nissan Altima and I love it. I haven't done a dealership shop, I get anxiety just going in for my own car lol
This morning brought me at Ralph's looking for a turkey, they have them for .47 + 25.00 purchase's, but this year their huge and being alone that doesn't work. Found an Organic 8 pd which is perfect for me and sandwich's.
Home and feel like cooking it today and having it up until Thanksgiving then maybe get a Prime rib which looked gorgeous. fall is here, have to plant a pot on patio, will look for a couple jobs other than food and the beat goes on.

@Lauraphx: I drive a Honda Accord and am so happy, hardly ever needs work, went from a Mercedes to this without blinking an eye and much less upkeep. I got a demo one year old and saved thousands.

Oh Irene, prime rib sounds amazing!!! We started doing that for Christmas. I love my Altima, but may be time for a change, we'll see if they can help me get out of this mess of a lease or if i'm better off just paying the mileage at the end, ugh
I just made reservations for Vegas Dec 11th for a work getaway...now I'll be looking for jobs....had a fare in account I got to use, and a very inexpensive room at the Flamingo (not my favorite), but doable. If can find a few jobs, if not hotel can be cancelled and Southwest keeps ticket for a year if cancelled (no fee).
Fingers crossed.

Irene, the great thing about the Flamingo is that the side entrance is right on that pedestrial street where there are a ton on places to eat with modest prices, as well as a few with medium prices.
so nice to be able to walk in that area without LV traffic roaring past. Enjoy
