What are you doing today? (besides shopping)

Jas..just returned from eye Dr. and yes, Glaucoma in remission...Dr.. said it seems seasonal for me, since fall is here, much better, summer and 110% much worse. Vision is good (so far), this is a slow moving disease.
Allergy is impossible, can't get rid of dust, especially where I live, gardner's always blowing stuff around....
odd so many of us have it.

I too have recently learned to live with dry eye disease. Didn't even know there was such a thing until 6-8 weeks ago. Glaucoma well controlled and not progressing over the last 25 years. Eyesight looking good (pun intended.)

So we are having a punny day? I Spy With My Little Eye.. that Justice Sandra Day O'Connor is experiencing dementia/likely Alzheimer's. While this is a sad thing, she is in good company and will be safe and loved. This announcement and responses includes a mention of iCivics, one law for all, and other ideas that some people might appreciate.

I was supposed to fit a little shop in between jobs, but the day-- or rather some food-- went upside down and I am waiting for a good moment in which I can stomach the little shop. There is only an inquiry, but I have to be able to, you know, ask politely.

Wales...when you go to the eye doc, have him give you a prescription for Restisis, I've tried everything over the counter with nothing working, and this helps so much, couldn't live without it...I take one drop mornings and one before bed. I never knew about dry eye until recently, worse in hot weather.

Irene,
So far the non-prescription routine of hot pack followed by lid scrub, damp cloth wipe and OTC drops is tolerable. See doc in November and may ask for stronger OTC drops and wipe before moving to (another) Rx. But thanks for the info.

Today I did a couple of gas stations, then I went shopping and had lunch with a friend at a new taqueria that opened up close by. We had a lot of fun and altogether it was a pretty nice day.
Maybe, just maybe, I can have lunch or dinner at a beloved fave place south of the border. It has been too many years since my last visit. Since all is well in my world now, I can contemplate this... yummmm... Wish me tasty calories!

I have hayfever which is mostly controlled by Sudafed and Zyrtec. One of the symptoms is labored breathing. The congestion doesn't completely disappear, so it take a lot of energy to breath. As a result, I am sleeping so well!

Quiet day here for a few hours between jobs. There is just enough time to look at real and/or fake news and read a few chapters in a book. I need a nap but want the book.

Renter left for San Francisco for his B-day celebration, so I'll do laundry and not much to straighten as cleaning was just here. Bills, clean up plants and later, do an AARP health care job. Sprouts and Ralph's, grapes are great this year, and for .88, buy of the day. Have many restaurants the week of the 1st., so, dieting on my menu this week.

Have family coming from out of town for dinner so am vacuuming and mopping and dusting. After that (if I have any time left) I"ll try to fix the upstairs toilet. The flap was old and rotten and I replaced it with one that I picked up on a hardware store shop. It doesn't seem to be working so well LOL. I'd really like to do this without paying the plumber $40.
My day just changed, I check my bank account and see a fee for skype....which is free, so (I ask), what's up.
Someone got my debit card # and was testing to see if it works. I run to the bank and got a new card. My monthly payments, like car Ins. are auto. Now I'll be on the phone all day, changing card, hate when this happens.

Oh Irene, that's awful!! Hope you caught it in time so that you didn't have any monies taken from any account! I had my debit card hacked about 5 years ago....someone charged a camera at Walmart! Anyhow, after filing a police report and all, they found out who it was....someone about 250 miles away who said I gave him permission to use my card...yeah, right! Anyhow, I had the money put back and got a new card, naturally. Since then, I RARELY use my debit card at WM....usually get cash out of my bank's ATM first.
Just got in from church a few minutes ago...wedding rehearsal for a wedding tomorrow. I'll be playing the piano and a man from my church will be playing the tenor sax. Small church and small wedding, but it will be nice...especially with that sax!!

Yes, I caught it while it was still pending, ran to the bank, and got a new debt card immediately...I'm fine, they will refund my $$.

Yesterday, on Day 1 of our mini vacation Hubby and I drove to Little Rock and explored. Today was the Louisiana State Fair in Shreveport. Tomorrow we drive to Dallas to visit with Oldest Son and his fiancee.

That mini trip sounds like fun. And it even includes a wedding!

Nothing so spectacular here, alas. There was work, and now there is more work followed by more work and, possibly still more work added on the fly. It is for a good cause. I have decided to highlight the mane again. It's expensive, but it makes a world of difference and is worth every penny. This month, I am earning enough to pay for the first three highlights appointments (every 2 3 months). I would not do this if I were not certain that I could manetain it. haha.

It's a cold, wet, rainy day. Family dinner went well and today I have nothing scheduled. I slept late, finished coffee and breakfast and am now considering my options. I think I'll clean the refrigerator and am thinking about making bread and soup from scratch. Later some snuggling on the couch and movies.
Today brings running around, preparing for my Nov. 7th trip...weather is gorgeous, swimming pool will be full.
Mall and hopefully a couple friends will be at SB for a bit of gossip. Deciding on lunch, all my lunches are for Nov,
wish I had one for today, oh well. I have become busy for Nov., go figure, retirement, maybe in 10 years.

FINALLY heading out for the long overdue manicure and pedicure. Hoping that the salon will not be busy on such a rainy, windy, chilly day.

We just got back from breakfast out and the OSU Cowboys Homecoming parade. We will watch the game tonight. In the mean time I might take a walk to a house on the next street that has a open house. I will have a quite time and watch a little more football
Yesterday was annual physical appt with the doctor. Had the blood tests done today. Here's hoping they come all right.
Go Dodgers, grew up on Baseball with my Dad...it was the Giants then, didn't miss a game, he knew all the players, miss him.

Hope you didn't stay up for the all-nighter, 18 inning game last night, Irene!! Even on the West Coast, that would've gotten over probably around midnight. Longest World Series game ever! Where I live, it got over around 2 AM or so!! Hubby came to bed when it was tied after 9 innings.
I had an aggressive week and slept in until 10:30 this morning. Today, I did not leave the house. Considering my week, that was great. I spent my morning completing reports. By the Afternoon, I was able to watch Friday 13th, sip tea and relax.

I am waiting for the next exciting opportunity!
I rearranged a work schedule, whacked my to-do list down to 'now there's time for a book' size, and contemplated the coexistence playground. It seems to exist separately from any educational institution, civic center, or religious structure. Kids of all ages are still being picked on and even killed there. Have we learned nothing in all the thousands or millions (depending upon what you believe) of years of human existence? Obviously, we are repeating undesirable aspects of the history. This is not okay.
