What are you doing today? (besides shopping)

Yay: New clothes arrived. My tooth has been permanently repaired. Not yay: The hubby has the flu or something. The kitchen sink has a clog or something. The kitchen floor has a small flood. Yay. It is just a small puddle, and it will finish drying soon.

Today is a play day (so to speak) before next week when I'm actually working on a couple big jobs, Dealership and involved Healthcare. Mall today, people watching, not buying anything, have enough stuff. House is in order,
love when that happens....may bake something sugarless....ugh!! Trying to find the album from the new movie " Star is Born", great music. Glorious day here, 80% but cool, go figure, only in L.A.

Thinking about ordering a book. It is called... something like Prodigal Press, or Prodigal Media, or Profligate Media....I need to do a search and get more information. Part of this book explains why codified libel and slander may or may not be libel and slander. The court decisions, some centuries old, which are detailed in the book may explain how or why nasty attacks and smears seem to have moved from a journalist's last-ditch effort to get at a truth or make a change to commonplace, garden variety behavior that anyone and everyone can engage in gleefully and with practically a thumb at their nose to any who would dare to look twice or askance. There is more information than that in the book, but so far I am sufficiently intrigued to get my own copy of the book-- after I find the correct title and other details. Since I have only one job tomorrow, I have time to get that book. Wish me luck! smiling smiley

Today found me "trying" to do my job for Health Ins. at a kiosk where the Agent didn't show up although his booth was set up long before he was supposed to be there from 11:00 to 5:00. Took picture, wrote general didn't show report and waiting to see what happens. Heard from Scheduler and he said he'll pass the info. on. I'm 99% sure I'll get paid, I was there.....it was in Wal-Mart, a fairly new one (to me) and had everything one could possibly want. I don't shop there as a rule, but rather enjoyed this outing. Had some disappointing news, so, just taking it easy tonight, and on computer playing Candy Crush.....

Irene, sorry about the disappointing news. I hope the next news will not make you giggle or smile, or yawn, anything. One of my fun things to do is to compare WalMart stores. The newer ones seem to have different vendors in different places. Why do some have banks, or arcades, or tech centers? I do not know these things. I only know that I have confessed my simple pleasure.

This newer Wal-Mart had a McDonalds, nail and beauty salon, why you could spend a week there and not see it all. The food department and bakery were huge with what seemed a decent bakery and bread for a buck. My my what I've been missing......I actually bought a butter made with black truffle, which I've not seen before, not even in Whole Foods. Disappointing news comes and goes, the same news may change with a new day....

Errands, including picking up copies for a meeting I'm chairing tomorrow. Home to collate copies and general organization. Bar integrity shop with Hubby for dinner tonight.

Senior flu shot, pedicure, laundry, hardware store for a plumbing part, one report to finish from yesterday's big bank loan shop.

Based in MD, near DC
Shopping from the Carolinas to New York
Have video cam; will travel

Poor customer service? Don't get mad; get video.
Having a lunch with some friends at a local pub, and then doing some record store browsing around the many good used record stores in my area.

Orlando - lightly shopping NC
Free day! Woo! Reading one book, purchasing another one, and waiting for the warm part of the day so that I can spend a little time outdoors.

Around here the bank that is found inside those stores are fast easy money.
My local one has a deli, a place to get glasses, a bank, an arcade, a bakery, a beauty shop and a place to get new tires.

Yesterday I did a ton of yard work in prep for winter, trimming up all the bushes and weedeating everything. Today I'm taking it a little easy on my sore muscles. I'm making beans and rice to go with home made tortillas and salsa and playing computer games. I may vacuum and do laundry or choose to take a nap instead.
Cleaned my home, did some computer work, lounged around, and in a bit I'm going to go make an apple cobbler.
Sunday coffee at SB with friends, library looking for some easy reading. Walk a bit, whatever else comes up, later skype with daughter, home to relaz as tomorrow I have a big (for me) job that includes driving.

Someone seemed annoyed because something always reminds me of something. I wonder what they would think of this: just before the horrific news of the missing journalist, I found a mystery book by an attorney who, in real life, had successfully defended a case in which there was no body. I had better run for cover in case they read this and get mad at me all over again! I would prefer to say that I am just in my Miss Marple-ish mode. But even that might pizz someone off, right?

My shop route will take me to a very upscale shopping area. Since it is my turn to buy the lottery tickets that a housemate and I share, I will buy them there. (She is convinced that tickets bought in expensive areas win more often. I am NOT, but thought it would do no harm to humor her belief. Of course, if we win ANYTHING this time I will never hear the end of the crowing!) I also still need to hit the hardware store and to replenish the wine supply.

LOL! Now is a good time to play lottery because the stakes are so high! Can you say, who wants to be a billionaire? If you don't win, you have a whine supply? grinning smiley In contrast to walesmaven and the high class lottery, I just had a few things to do that must be done today. I rearranged work schedules for two months, tested a dry shampoo (it works well) and played eenie-meanie-miney-mo with the Thanksgiving menu. Now, I can carry on and read, work out, and putter around with little tasky stuff.

I was going to go to the gym but when I heard temps were supposed to be in the 70s I changed my plans. Will do yard work to build muscles instead :-) Other than that errands and getting ready for mini-vacation with Hubby that starts on Thursday.

I didn't sleep well which means I slept till noon so I'm getting a very late start. I"m running out in a minute to do 2 gas stations (all I have time for today) and after that will pick up fresh salad ingredients and come home and make a couple of trips to the attic taking things that we don't seem to use downstairs. The attic project is ongoing so I try to do some every day. Clearing clutter, yay. I would throw most of it away, however I"m married to a pack rat. So the attic is the compromise. Luckily we have a very large floored attic with permanent stairs. Then we'll make salads and watch movies together.
As a sufferer of seasonal allergies, I am in a Sudafed haze and it's not even noon.

Cleaning crew texted and asked if they could come today instead of tomorrow, so 12:30 it is...I have an Eye Dr. Appt. tomorrow, so it's good. Called my Doc for Appt. (10-29), found blood where it doesn't belong, oy vey, now what? Scared Shi%$#less.

Hang in there, Irene. It may just be something small and benign. Will say a prayer for you tonight!
A week is a long time when you're scared about something. Don't panic. It could indeed be something small and benign.
@Irene_L.A....Hoping for the best for you!!

@KathyG....a mini vaca sounds divine. I swear I'm still having vaca withdrawals from the trip we took in May

@HonnyBrown...have you ever thought of the "allergy shot regimen?" It's extensive. It's time consuming. It's pricey...and you HAVE to stick with it long term and be in compliance to see results. But I have allergies that affect my asthma so badly that I used to be in the ER during allergy season almost every year. I've been on the program for a little over 2 years, and really started to notice a difference after one year. My son and daughter are also doing the program. As far as compliance: you have to be able to commit to 3-6 years. Those years can be "closer to 3" if you are compliant and get your shots sooner rather than later. For example, at this point in the regimen, I have to get the shots once every 10-28 days. I do every 10 days/every 11 days (alternate between Mon/Fri) and that should make the program be closer to "3 years...."

It may not be for you, but it's a thought smiling smiley
Jill, I would rather take a small daily pill than shots for years that may or may not work.

My Dad did allergy shots for years. They were ineffective.

No thanks! At least I know the pills work.

Yeah, it's not for everyone, and there is a percentage of people who it doesn't work for smiling smiley

For myself and my kids...I'm really glad we decided to do it; it DOES seem to help us, thankfully
I have eye allergies to dust, but it got much better when I changed my blanket and pillow and make sure my house gets dusted daily. They came out with a new pill, but it cost 300.00 and Ins. won't pay. I also take Restasis for dry eyes and that helps, it is a prescription drop. I was told the shots don't work, so Jill, your lucky.
Thanks everyone for your kind thoughts and words,,,fingers crossed and yes, a week is a long time.

OMG what I would do for 70 degrees...it's about 35 out tonight, though today it "warmed" up to about 50, LOL.

My hubby has gone to Panama City to do insurance claims to help people get their checks to repair their homes. He says it's the worst he has ever seen in all of his years of storm adjustments. So sad.

Have a fabuluous time on your mini-vacay!.

Irene, I am allergic to dust, mold, pets, pollen, and some people, LOL. That's just my nasal passages and sinuses...my eyes swell up but it's something I just have to deal with. I know that with your glaucoma it complicates things even further. I hope everything is okay.
