What are you doing today? (besides shopping)

Today is recovering from France. I go back to work tomorrow.

When I was in Arules, instead of touring the marketplace and eating more bread and cheese, I took a two our walk along the Rhone River.

The Ferrari dealership was unbelievable. I was standing in a showroom with Rolls Royces (one pre-owned), Mercedes' (including a Maybach), a Bugatti, and a Smart Car. I don't know why the Smart Car was there. At one point, I was walking around the tight showroom admiring the luxury, and the metal tag on my Michael Kors backpack clinked a car that cost 1.5M Euro. I nearly fainted, thinking that I scratched it.

I saw a 5 Guys in Paris. I would have been better off eating there.

It was a great trip, but I am glad to be on US soil!

We caught a raccoon last night so I fed it some grapes while we wait to be able to go to the country and release it. I'm glued to twitter since today is a hellish news day, and I am thinking about making cookies. I'd rather make soup but I already have home made noodle soup in the fridge. Did laundry and vacuumed already. I already completed all but two of my shops for the month so unless something spectacular comes along I"m staying home once the raccoon is relocated. It's raining and won't stop.
Pretzel shop today with my favorite msc..only downside is I don't like pretzels..couldnt resist though very easy and fast shop

Shopping Idaho and Oregon/Idaho border region.
In response to some real or fake news (how the heck can we distinguish between them these days?!) I did a little fact check and discovered that women have been attending, shaping, and influencing Yale since 1869. Females first matriculated into The School of the Fine Arts. Later, they attended other Yale schools. Thus, women have been influential in, and, and from Yale for at least 251 years. (Other females may have influenced Yale indirectly. I did not attempt to calculate the amount or impact of that potential female influence over Yale.)

Would it be wonderful if stuff that is reported as news were reliable and thus did not need to be subjected to fact checks which in turn could -erm- trump the fake, interestingly interpreted, and other "news"?

Later, I found this. It is scary. absurd, and/or dangerous.

We want to take our activism and our power into action and change things for every woman, everywhere, working in any workplace. -Mira Sorvino

Why do 'they' want to invade people's spaces? And, they want every women, everywhere, to experience them and their influence. Why? Aren't their own spaces enough for them? What's in it for every woman, everywhere? Did they ask every woman everywhere, or even any woman anywhere, for permission to enter? What about us? We are independent contractors who do at least some of our work at home. I do not want them in my workspace, which include my home. Do you really want this kudzu, I mean these activists in your home?

Today I will be shopping for a new mattress. Seriously, not as an MS assignment. Since I have a platform bed I need to find someone who will sell just the mattress, not always easy. And they must deliver and install so that means a reasonable delivery fee and not having to bribe anyone to take it up one flight of stairs. I will start with the nearby Sears Outlet store. When buying appliances there I have often seen mattresses on display.

Wales, do they have the Original Mattress Factory in your area? Great beds for very reasonable prices. Go to their webdite and see.
Phew. Morning was busy. Now there is time for searching Psalms, working, and running errands.

At the end of the day, all that matters is this: I did everything on the to-do list, got wonderful insights and perspectives during my study time, and found a few more reasons to rejoice. All is well.

Feeding my chipmunk that lives in the backyard. Alvin comes running when I open the slider and call his name. He stuffs his cheeks full of peanuts and runs back to his hole in the rocks. It's so fun to watch him! He is just sooo cute.
wales, I got a great memory foam mattress with a 20 year warranty from Aldi! Yes, the grocery store.

Because of my need for a very firm mattress, memory foam is not going to happen here. Thanks for the info, and someone else will find i t useful, I am sure.

Considering changing myself to a non-gendered unit. Have had three lifetimes' worth of sex/gender/whatever unprintable splashed around the world. Am fed up with my once-loved gender. Now, others in the group have so disgusted me that I do not want to be categorized with them. The latest irritant comes from the the ones who, despite having no credibility, demand respect, obedience, and action based upon bupkis. Gah. !

But enough of that. If time permits, I will visit a fave place after work. This one sometimes has wonderful old books and things. I am still looking for vintage linens.

Original Mattress Factory makes 2-sided mattresses that can be flipped, turned, and rotated so they last longer and don't get dips as easily, and they have some firm orthopaedic mattresses with heavy gauge steel used for the innersprings and box springs. They cost less than Sealy, Serta, etc. and are of better quality. I personally have a Tempurpedic but if I were to have a traditional bed, I would buy from OMF. But, I am not sure if they have a factory in your area. They do have 11 factories in the USA and they also have over 100 stores, all in the Eastern US.
I used to buy beds. Now, I sleep on the couch. This is working. Yay.

A friend of mine from Los Angeles is in town (DC) with her hubby for their 20 year anniversary. I left work at 330 and walked the 3 miles to the restaurant so I could eat the country fried steak. It was great to see them!

Going into the personal tooth repair biz. (The second repair job in three days also failed. I did not bite or eat with the pesky tooth.) I will be my own test subject. At least I will not charge myself money for the perpetual popping tooth trick. On a less silly note, I am loving fall here. Last night, we spontaneously went south of the border for personal reasons. No shops! Also, no deductible miles, but whatever. There were mist, fog, rain, cool temperatures, and wet but not icy earth. I wanted to camp out in the coolness of Autumn, somehow, somewhere, and spontaneously, but we did not have gear with us. Oh, well. As we consider another vehicle, we can think about one with enough space to store the basic camping gear. If we had even the basic gear, we could camp more often. And this leads me into my next silly idea, which is to change my username to something that is at least grammatically correct and otherwise descriptive. I would skip the work references and say something pithy about nature, or camping, or something. Are we allowed to change our usernames?

Just PM Jacob to change your user name. The change will apply to ALL of your previous posts, of course. What is not allowed is to have two user names active.

The plan was to do yard work (removing a dying dwarf evergreen tree by the garage) and bake some cookies. However, this morning I got an acceptance email for an ice cream store. So tonight after dinner I will treat myself and Hubby to ice cream.

Getting this shop makes me to a happy dance, and not just because this place makes great ice cream. The fee and bonus put me incrementally over $1,000 for the month. This is my first time hitting the milestone.

I got home last night at 2am after doing an amusement shop. Then, since today is daughter's bday, had to decorate dining room and set her present out.

Started working on my shop at 3:20am and finished it at 6a.m. Fell asleep the second it was done, only to wake to a stomach ache/heartburn. Stayed up for a while with Tums and fell back asleep at 8am. Slept til 11;30. Now I'm just hanging around in my pj's....lazy day
Sorting a couple of dozen DC shops into groups for mini-routes. The all have flexible dates, which makes this an easy and enjoyable exercise. Otherwise, just chilling and admiring the sunshine.

Having coffee and then I'm going to go outside and do some garden clean up. After that I'll make some calls to reschedule some shops and then probably a nap because I slept about 3 hours last night.
So it was fun to visit four cities and five locations and experience the common and different features. Technically, it was work. I know the truth: I get paid for my little test-free geography lessons.

We're having the front porch polyjacked today. Depending on how long it takes the work to get done I may make a phone call to a targeted leasing agent. And, sadly, turning the air conditioner back on because summer JUST. WON'T. GO. AWAY!
