At 10 AM all September shops for my main client in this region will post for their "regular" shoppers and by about 10:30 99 percent will have been claimed. The other 1 % will go to the job board. Gotta love knowing this far in advance where 20-40 September shops will be and having the flexibility to do them any day of the month that the locations are open. So, my alarm is set for 9:55.

After that, 2-3 shops in the center city, lunch at a Shake Shack near one of my parking shop sites, a stop at the dry cleaners, and a chat with the newer housemate about extending her lease for at least another year.

Wow! I'm impressed that you can roll out of bed and be ready to go! I need a hot shower, 20 minutes to read the newspaper, and a cup of coffee first.

Great. The one day that I have recently added, leg-friendly assignments is the one day that I unexpectedly have an odd/extra task at another job. Translation: my day just gets busier and busier and busier... Oh well. I get paid. All will be well when those payments are here.

HonnyBrown, I hope that I did not offend you. I have not been divorced. I was wondering if absolutely everything in your now-divorced life is scary, or whether a few things are unknown and seem scary to you or are looming large. Please forgive.

I am up at 7:00, shower, go downstairs for coffee and the news, and checking in on computer....nothing happens before my coffee. I usually am out of house by 9 ish. Today begins by schlepping two heavy bags full of giveaway clothes to the garage for pickup. I donate to the Vetern's. Running around after my 10:00 big box job, Trader Joe's and getting a free steak dinner at Black Angus, not sure if I will have it tonight or tomorrow, decisions
decisions.....our streets have closed two lanes due to tree trimming and sewer repair, so much traffic preparing for winter....(what winter)?
honny, it does take time to re-adjust, but keeping busy helps, and I know you are and will be just fine.

Contemplating Fall....there few fishing days, fewer hiking days, and no empty town days because the students are back now and filling up all the available space. But the temperatures are cooler and beloved critters are on the move. It is a good season.

Also contemplating retiring v. having a tiny business. Who has a tiny business?!? But when would I have time for a larger one? Eventually I will decide about that.

The Inner Perfectionist Will Be Silenced! Finally! Huzzah! Finally, I will finish the last of the projects for this year. The end of that is either tomorrow or Monday, leg permitting. After that, I am free to do nerdy things such as a Latin review complete with classical pronunciation.

Packing for trip Wednesday, meeting Sat. buddies for coffee (Scool smiley, Target for new French Press, errands, home to again pack. Thinking of having my B-day dinner tonight or tomorrow at Black Angus...had an amazing B-day dinner last night, nothing like a delicious medium rare steak...smiling smiley The food and service was so good, wished it were a job, left the largest tip in history.

I locked my keys in my car first thing this morning. It cost me $200. Lesson learned! I did church online and later today will be a pedicure, a wine run, picking up Mom's birthday gift and homework.

Yesterday my car wouldn't start after my Target run...called three A's, they turned the steering wheel and wala, it starts...feeling stupid. Today more running around, housestuff and packing for trip Wed., later early dinner, late lunch at Gyu Kaku, thanks to SandyF.
honny, three A's roadside would have opened car and taken care of all roadside problemsf for 48.00 a year......

All my house plans went into dreamland. I needed a nap. I think my leg needed me to take the nap. It seems to be less bad now. Anyway, all the projects are delayed until whenever. It's okay. I have just enough time (before work) for a diy facial and a new-to-me indie movie. I found a small set of movies that were culled from international film festivals, and I love them.

Did I ever tell you this? From time to time, odd things happen here. Today, I noticed that one light switch that has been traditionally up/on and down/off for almost twenty years has changed. I did not change it. The hubby did not change it. I am not superstitious, so I do not believe that ghosts, ghoulies, or poltergeists changed it. It is just... odd.

The last time I shopped them I used that scenario!

Happy Monday! We are contemplating the benefits of leaving home now and arriving at the fishin' hole at sunup or so. This is a good time for fishing, hiking, and reading. It is also a good time for yoga on the porch, cuppa on the couch, and rowing on a machine at home. Home has human/ manufactured music; nature has natural music. What to do, what to do.....

A day off from shopping so I started a pot of beans with bacon, mowed the yard (front) and will soon bake brownies for the beloved. I feel a nap coming on after which I will do laundry and vacuum and mow the back yard after it's in the shade. It's brutally hot out there.
Doing laundry for trip (everything is for trip), cleaning house, re-packing as everything I packed yesterday has to be moved, daughter says it is in the 70"s, and my non-knowledgeable friends tell me it's hot and humid...what do they know? Happy to bring cooler clothes, as fall is in the air, at least for a few days. Tons of activities planned, Chicago will be happening for the holidays......YES!!!!

Without limping, I completed a boatload of errands. Did I mention, without limping? Well, I meant to say, without limping. This is huge progress. A few shops ago I was practically horizontal (well, it felt like I was walking horizontally). Now, some good sort of healing is happening, and I walk vertically.

The following blah-blah belongs in the good news thread, but here goes. I did the budget research and discovered that I overestimated some costs. I will accomplish three goals for the over-estimated price of one. This is good.

I'm going to go to the despised and hated walmart and get some ink for the printer and pick up a couple of grocery items while I'm there. I usually only grocery shop at Kroger or Save a lot, but our Kroger is undergoing renovations. You can't go get a loaf of bread without waiting for 20 guys to get out of the way. They seem completely oblivious to the fact that people are trying to shop. They stand around talking in the middle of the aisles. UGH!
It is the end of August. Where the unprintable did they summer go!? But I like Autumn. Sweaters... blankies & throws... walks in cool woods... cool mornings... cool evenings....

Happy belated birthday Irene!

This weekend, my brother and I came home to surprise my Mom for her birthday. My Dad was instrumental in the planning, and Mom was very surprised.

Very quiet day here. I counted the number of work outfits that are available without doing laundry on long, busy work days. I only needed three. I found quite a few! It helps that I can wear the same dark colors for the early morning job as I can later. Mind you, this is dull and boring, and sometimes I would rather wear something chipper and cheery. But at least I do not have to miss sleep due to laundry. Sleeping is good for me.

Later today, I will clean out and wash the car. If I am ambitious, I will pick up shredder bags. If not, I will just come home and sit down with my business books. (I have a few books about setting up and running a business. Much of the information is for larger corporations. But the basics are very helpful. They reinforce the information that is on this forum. Or vice versa.) I also have an indirectly related book by Mika Brzezinski. Grow Your Value would have been helpful for me decades ago! Fortunately, I have it now, and it is helping.

Now, when I think about pricing jobs, the cold sweats subside almost immediately and my teeth do not chatter at all. In fact, I feel downright good about doing the business math and figuring out various profit points. Go me.

It's been raining daily around here so the grass was so high the lawnmower wouldn't cut it. It quit raining the last two days so I've been outside with the weedeater getting it down to manageable size. I will straighten up the front yard, sweep the walk and weed, and the backyard can stay an uneven mess until after the next round of rain after which I will no doubt have to repeat the process.
I'm ready for cooler days, boots and sweaters and shoving the lawnmower out of sight.
Today is homework. I have a final exam next week, and I'm short two days due to vacation.

Returning to "reality" after my amazing trip. Dentist appointment, in chair 3 hours (Ouch). Numbness finally wearing off after 2 hour nap. Just watching T.V. and nothing else...oh well, tomorrow is another day.

I spent some of the day working, some of it rescheduling work, and some of it sleeping. Very strange day. Was that nastiness the flu or was it a bad reaction to the ibuprofen? Anyway, the wonderful news is that I can reschedule much of my work or simply postpone work dates within given time frames. This makes everything better.

Returning shoes that I bought because I couldn't find the ones I really wanted and then found them online the same day. Shopping. Visited with a friend for awhile. Baked a spice cake with fresh banana and pecans with cream cheese frosting.
Trying to figure out how to get over to @CoffeeQueen's house for some cake. Actually just about to sign off from werkin fer da man, and then I am going to step into my pool with a beer. Been very slow since the calendar switched to September on my shopping calendar.

Trade you the cake for the pool. I don't like beer. LOL People are always horrified when I say that.
