What are you doing today? (besides shopping)

Today I am signing off the forum. My best friend lost her daughter and husband this year, and I have decided to devote my time to more productive things. Love my friends, not interested in the meanness and lies and trolls.

I was so thrilled for a few moments about posting something here today. Alas, there was the post above mine from Irene. Irene, maybe you can retire from this forum like you retired from mystery shopping. ???

On vaca with hubby, up in Virginia tonight for a couple of nights. Then up to PA for a few nights. Then a stop-over in W Va, and then one more stop-over in Va, and then back home on the 23rd. THEN.....next day, I go up to be with my sweet DIL & grandbaby while son is out of town for a few days!! So lots of travel, and lots of dirty laundry coming up!!
Deleted. I may have misinterpreted a different comment. If so: Apologies.

I took it as a compliment the way I read it. @Shop-et-al is saying they hope Irene sticks around and posts, or comes back.

Ouch..... is that really necessary?

@oteixeira
Okay... I can see that. I'm still ill and did not catch the nuance.
Thanks.

Hope to see you soon, Irene. Today I am indulging myself. I'm going to get my hair cut and styled, then going shopping for some new tops (to go with my hundreds of pairs of black pants) and then going shoe shopping. Then I'm having a late lunch (early dinner) with a friend.
Taking the afternoon off to take items to my daughter at college she did not have room for in her car. Looking forward to seeing her.
What I meant was a direct reference to Irene, who is a proved and talented shopper. She has tried and tried to retire from mystery shopping. This has worked so well that she still shops. Perhaps she will have a similar retirement from the forum. ???

Laundry, clean out car, quick run to the wine store, find pictures from early '80s, steam the wrinkles out of 8 long window panels (already hung), organize the rest of my August shops to avoid the worst of the heat and humidity!
I am really, really fortunate that all but one of my remaining shops can be done any day between now and August 30. And a bunch of them involve parking in locations where I can just take an elevator straight from the garage into a nice, air conditioned building on days when it will be 90+ degrees outside and pouring rain at flash flood speeds.

Yay. There will be no surgery for the *unprintable* leg. There are only weeks of easy, at-home leg therapies and a need to choose jobs carefully for awhile. Tomorrow, the leg goes to a mountain town, does a shop type that should be perfect for me, and visits a second mountain town on general principles. The mountain air is good for me, and the trip through the woods is just right at any time.

Filing an an insurance claim... For the second time in the last 9 months, the car I bought cash with MS money has been hit. This time, it was innocently parked along the street in front of my house and a kid backed into it - hard enough to destroy the rear bumper, one fender, and one side of tail lights. @#?!

At least the kid stuck around, owned up to it, and had insurance.....

Happy Monday! I am staying at home and completing as many house tasks as the leg will permit. Yawn.

Today I laid around, and now I'm baking banana bread. A much needed crash day after weeks of powering through high pressure routes day after day.
Today I went to court to finalize my divorce. It was granted. Bittersweet.

Oh, my. Goodbye to whatever that was, and hello to whatever will be.

Hubby & I got home today after our 8 day vacation. I threw our dirty clothes in the wash, and did a real quick vacuum, washed the kitchen floor and made scrambled eggs & toast for supper! Tomorrow, I head up to NC to see my DIL & grandbaby while son is out of town for a few days. I am going to be pooped when I get back early next week!! But I'm looking forward to seeing them!
This is the third day of unseasonably cool, beautiful weather. I've enjoyed having the windows open and being able to walk outside without feeling like I'm going to melt. Summer will return with a vengeance on Saturday, so I'm making the most of it.
