Rats in a poke! The clerk at the distant store where I bought new walking shoes (not a shop) forgot to remove the security device from the shoes. When I was buying the shoes, it was the height of efficiency because I was on the way to somewhere. Now it is inefficient because I have to go all the way back there after work in yet another city and have my shoes "fixed". I was ready for their inaugural early morning walk. The shoes were not ready. This means that I will not have time to visit a botanic garden or find a new great place for lunch. Oh, well. Maybe I can do those things next week (when I am not fishing, hiking, working on projects, or reading).
Of course, it is all my fault. I did not pay strict attention during the checkout process and I did not notice that the security device was left on the shoe. I was busy searching for my loyalty card, which had disappeared. It was in my wallet no more that three days ago. Now, it is... somewhere.
But the good news is that in addition to the shoes, I got a good news book. Not surprisingly, it is called 'And The Good News Is.. Lessons and Advice From the Bright Side'. Dana Perino describes her optimistic point of view. If I utilize anything from this mindset, I can do a little happy dance because a few fave places in the distant town are open today which were closed when I was there yesterday. I have an additional and unexpected opportunity there. So. Is the shoe thing good, bad, inconvenient, catalyst, or just something to blah-blah about on a message board?
