What are you doing today? (besides shopping)

I am just finding things to donate and gathering up the recyclables. We are going to offload stuff next week. This should have been done weeks ago, when there was less stuff. But we had Bronchitis and could not get to these tasks. The good news is that next week the weather will be excellent, more things there will be in bloom, and we will be stronger. If all goes well, there will be very fine lunch or dinner at fave expensive but not shopped place. This is my idea of a treat for doing useful tasks. Yum!

Today was church, getting my eyebrows threaded, and laundry.

Never try to teach a pig to sing. It's a waste of your time and it really annoys the pig.
Just got home from So Cal. My sister is terminally ill and I had to go see her. My niece wants me back soon, before the end. My mystery shopping PAID for the entire trip smiling smiley, and it will again soon.

Recovering from the weekend and washing the winter coats to put them away until next fall.

I had to make a list of what I did to do before Weds , and what I need to pack. I also need to go to the post office and Walmark. I going to clean nhouse some and mop my kitchen floor . Not a exciting day.
The handgun class on Saturday was so much fun! After the 4 hour class, we went out to the range and shot different guns. I shot a 22 revolver, a 9mm, a 45 with a scope and an assault rifle.

Watched Sherlock Holmes. Sorted stuff. Read something edifying.

Was able to link into my daughters lecture on "Emotional Intelligence:, may have learned something, definitely a good thing. Hanging out, pool time, cut flowers on property, market (not a shop)... bought cute white pants for our summer, which has arrived.

Following up with new folks that I met at IMSC conference; planing late July-early August route to NE Maine, where I will have a cottage by the sea for 7 days; searching on line for tall storage cabinets for dining room (that do not look dark and gloomy or like garage storage!); a little short term menu planning before grocery trip later in the week.

Jokingly, I called myself Lumbering She-Bear. I pulled something in my back and ... Voila! I Really Am Lumbering She-Bear! I should think of a better name. Perhaps Gazelle, or Prima, or something. I then could be graceful and sprightly. Or not. Anyway, after all this sorting and lugging stuff around, I will have much less remaining stuff to deal with when I put it in its new proper places. Huzzah! Thank you-know-whom that one job is on hiatus. This gives me time to work at the speed of molasses and not need to stop for naps before work shifts. It also allows me to exclaim, and marvel, and just enjoy things I am finding that I have not seen for awhile.

My son, dear DIL and beautiful granddaughter got here safe and sound early last evening. So I'm enjoying my time with them....SO happy!!!
Doing a bank this morning, Kohl's, got 30% off coupon in mail, they opened Nordstrom's rack, and next door building a T.J. Max, much needed, since rents are so high, nothing has gone in for ages. Later going through closest , giving stuff to woman's home. Weather cooled down for weekend.....

Freecycling a ton of stuff. Excavating the archaeological site that is my dining room table. Reorganizing storage in kitchen, dining room and bedroom. It is so hot and humid here today that we are treating this like a snow day; inside work marathon.

Still making incremental daily progress on the endless projects. If I paid myself for doing this, I would have job security forever! Hmm. Anyway.... this little town is emptying as students flee for the summer/forever. To commemorate, I listened to 'Pomp and Circumstance' and 'School's Out For Summer'. Briefly, I remembered that I think of Mom and Dad as having graduated to the next degree program. Then, I realized that no one knows when they move the tassels or what the job prospects are for service in the afterlife. I promise that I did not spend more than ten seconds pondering that bit. Finally, I thought of everyone here and upcoming holidays. Here's hoping that whatever your perspective is for the holidays, the days are great for you. smiling smiley

Tomorrow is known as Mothers' Day here. I like the British idea of celebrating Mothering Day, to honor all those women who raise or help to raise children.

Scheduling shops. Mid-month shopping is decent. With just a little effort, I replace lost income from the on-hiatus job. These shops do not feel like work. They just pay well.

I got tires a few weeks ago. Not long after, my car was clanging. I took the car back to the tire store. They showed me the reason for the noise (not their fault). Apparently, it a known issue with Nissan, but not a recall. Luckily, my friend's DH loves repairing cars, and he's good at it.
