This morning I had a wonderful visit with my brother at my home , most of the time it is at his home. It was so good to see him. He has put in a bid for a house , I sure hopes he gets it, He has a big red new truck too , it is so cool.
I'm sorry Shop. She preached from Romans Chapter 8 Verse 31: If God is for us, who can be against us.

She preached that no matter how difficult our situations are, we have to turn them over to God and let him release our burdens. She was very emotional. Her sermon was very good.

HonnyBrown, that is intriguing, and you have given no clues. I must ask. Was the sermon powerful because of Psalm 27:10, a plea for gun control, a caution for gun safety, or something else?

I did a anaprtment shop today . I also am going to have a quite time and get ready for City Wide Bible Study for one last time until Angust 29th. I will miss it so much. We will be studing the early kings of Isaiah next term.
I go to BJs because they have such good prices on everything and smaller quantities than Costco. I need new tires for my car, so I checked BJs.com. The tires they had were more than I wanted to pay. Just for kicks, I checked a nearby tire store. They had the price that I wanted and a Groupon. I dropped my car off today.

After supper tonight, hubby headed out to umpire a baseball game. So I found Jumanji through one of my Roku channels and watched that again...hadn't seen it in several years. Very enjoyable and Just. Scary. Enough.
Honny, I love Groupon, got a Mani/Pedi through them, and 5.00 off 10.00 for Starbucks.
Did a bank inquiry and dinner tonight at my local sandwich shop, usually comes with a salad,
she subsitute's soup for salad, hope it's accepted. Going to have a cup of tea with Vanilla Bourbon in it...

Last minute chores and errands as I pack to trip to Atlanta for IMSC conference. So, pedicure, mulch and flowers so housemate can improve the garden while I am away; groceries and wine stores so I will have supplies on hand when I return; weeding my handbag to reduce weight/bulk; charging video equipment for training session at conference; on-line flight check-in.

Moved on from The X Files to Dharma & Greg. We watched 1.5 seasons and 1.0 movies of The X Files franchise. After an X Files episode about 'The Blessingway', I wondered if that was a nod to Tony Hillerman's book and/or any native concepts. I had read the Hillerman decades ago and I needed more information. So, I decided to re-read the book and do a web search. (Yes, I am a nerd, a geek, and a dweeb.) And, the truth about why 'The Blessingway' was inserted into The X Files is out there...

Finally, a few things are sprouting an leafing here. This is a definite sign that Porch Season soon will be here. I already picked out the first few books that should be read on the porch. I just need a warm porch!

wales, why the urgency? I get mine checked as a part of my annual physical, and it's overdue now.

Honey Brown , the problem is I am a type 2 diabetic . and I am supposed to have my level check every 3 months. Last time it was at 8.6 , the time before it was at 1.8 so I have come down a lot.
The tradeoff can well be blood tests often now or dialysis later. My younger brother ignored the testing regime a lot. He now has 40 percent kidney function and is on a transplant waiting list. He is only 63 , maintains an active life and a slim body, and is contributing to his family and community. You want to target getting that A1C below 8, WAY below if you can!!!

I know it is inportant but I hate shots so badly . I know about dalysis , I have last two sister's to kindey problems because of be tdiatbetic.
I had to drive Hubby to a minor medical procedure today. On the way home there was a huge traffic jam. A former fire official passed away and they had the funeral today. I couldn't get on the highway because they had the entrance ramp blocked for the procession of fire trucks coming through. I turned around to go home another way but the procession was pretty impressive to see.

Taking a drive up our back road (Hwy126) to the fresh fruit/veggie stands to buy nice fresh strawberries (just picked) and drive to Ventura harbor, just because I can. No work today. Never traffic on this road and quite beautiful once you get to the ocean, taking pic's along the way.... 78% and climbing.

My daughter is coming to visit today, we will go out to lunch, take a walk through our town and check out the Boutiques. These are the best days. I am so lucky to have a wonderful loving daughter.
I did a Silver Sneakers gym evaluation. Coincidentally I'm looking for a new gym, so I got paid to do something I would have anyway :-)

For three whole minutes, it was warm enough to read on the porch. I was working then, and when I got home it was cold and raining again. Oh, well. Someday...

We had only a few episodes of Dharma & Greg, and we are now watching 1950s Sherlock Holmes. I wonder if the actors who play Watson spend much time perfecting their thunderous "HOOOOLLLMMMEEES!!!".

Thanks wales. You had me ready to run to the MD. I'm consistently at a 3 or so. A 5 if I ignore the fasting requirement.

Addressing an IMSC conference about why clients insist on video shops and are willing to pay for them. Hint: it's not becasue video equipment costs a lot or is difficult to use.

Playing around on Groupon, thinking of a hair color at Paul Mitchell Beauty school in a great mall near here....price 20.00. Looking for bargains today (that's what I do). Taking a peek in the Senior Center (ugh),
to see if anything is happening, they have different classes, I know I'll walk in and walk out, straight to Macy's, and good news they opened Nordstrom's rack a mile from me (it's been mobbed), been there, prices high, but fun to look for something special.
