What are you doing today? (besides shopping)

Doing a small job in the mall, will browse a bit, go home do report, house straighten and later have my free dinner at Solita, along with their Margarita...taco tuesday/happy hour. Does walking the mall count as excerzise?
Waiting for our series of rain storms later.....

Last night, I started my spring cleaning. I took out all the stuff from my kitchen cupboard and really cleaned up everything. However, when I got to the area under the sink, I could not bend enough to clean the bottom so I decided to sit on it and then, wiped around. Holy Moses! I just could not get up from under the sink, afterwards. Thank God, my son was off work. But he could not help me out. So he got a small chair and I was able to get out slowly by myself. I was reprimanded not to do any of the cleaning of the bottom closet again until I am fully recovered. There are a thousand and one I want to do, including putting the tiles on my kitchen wall. winking smiley

I have applied for some shops but cancelled them.
Waiting for the glare ice on my street and porch to disappear before I venture out. Most area schools are closed or opening at least 2 hours late. Many employers have given "liberal leave or work from home" options due to road conditions. We had more than 6 inches of snow, on top of ice, here yesterday and last night. This region is not equipped to deal with that very effectively. This is a southern city and is supposed to be knee deep in cherry blossoms right now.

My plans this morning were to visit my parents who were staying at a hotel an hour away the day before their cruise. The plans got diverted when, during my lunch time walk, I fell on a curb and my teeth blocked my fall. Looking like a Jack'O'Lantern, I left work early to go to my dentist.

And I have a concussion from the impact.

Thanks wales. It happened very suddenly. I have a great dentist. I'm very sad that I didn't get to see my parents.

My head is fine, but my top lip, which took the bulk of the impact, is very swollen. And on top of that, I'm drinking smoothies for the next 6 weeks.

Ow! That is a bummer. Hope you both feel better soon.

Plans changed no movie due to the "Walk to Live" march ending from downtown to my town, streets will be closed. Wish I were younger I'd march with those wonderful kids trying to make change...memories of the Vietnam war in the 60's and the students from Berkeley peacefully marching up my street with my darling Mother handing out apples. We were worried my nephew would have to go. Ended up doing a job at Costco, today that I was going to do tomorrow so, had a polish dog at 10am, then went to the library looking for something to read, so will be home reading and typing.

Wow, between risinghorizon and honny's mishap, yikes! I wish you both well.

I am planning a fall trip, going to Texas to see family for 10 days then to Phoenix for a couple of weeks right after...then early in 2019 we will be going to Mexico or South Florida for a few weeks, haven't decided which. Kids have to stay here and house sit and deal with the snow.
I'm trying to get a trip to San Francisco for all the cousins to go to my sisters Assisted Living home in Palo Alto and visit, i's been too long...I'm trying for the end of April.

I started out by looking for one resource for one controversial talking point for one issue. I ended up with enough material for three theses. I understand why this talking point is used, but I do not understand why anyone with education, reasonableness, thoughtfulness, decency, or plain old common sense still uses it.

To keep it fun, I will tell you that I along the way I found something so hilarious that I nearly p you know.. and thank goodness I read the pain posts above before telling you about my day. Some people might check out the hilarious thing and laugh so hard that they cry. Literally. This would not be good. But maybe, when everyone is feeling well enough to laugh, I will tell you about that.

Doing my BJ' Brewery for lunch, getting enough for a couple days....bank, post office, looking for a pair of pants with elastic waist, got new battery yesterday so car's good to go, with good ole triple A putting it in, same charge with a 6 year warranty and didn't have to wait a day. Later, having handyman change batteries in a couple of my fire alarms...we have them built into the ceilings in every room, changing batteries impossible for me. read, eat, watch a movie, read a book.....watched Roseanne last night, funny show, love it.

Well, because I am now 65, and my primary care physician opted OUT of Medicare about 8-10 years ago, I have had to look for a new primary care physician to list on my Insurance card with the plan I have. So this week I did a LOT of research and picked a new doctor to see. I picked him for 2 reasons: his ratings are good on a couple of websites, and he is also a D.O. (doctor of osteopathy). He's had the same training as an MD, but I believe DO's tend to look at a person as more of a WHOLE rather than the PARTS, which is nice. Anyhow, I chuckled when I saw his name: Raymond Romano -- no kidding!! I asked the person on the phone if he takes a lot of kidding because of his name, and she said yes, he does. So at first, when looking for an opening for new patients, the phone person thought I would have to wait until the end of May! But then she saw an opening for this week....and it's today! So I'll go meet my hopefully, new doctor. Hey, everybody loves Raymond, right??? winking smiley
Finally getting down in the dirt of getting all of the panelists for the full day of video training at the May IMSC conference organized and all singing from (at least) the same hymnal. I'm not worried if some sing different songs, since we will encourage looking at things from several angles. (My apologies for scrambled metaphors, folks!) Looks like we can introduce folks to upcoming expansions in video tech as well as getting them really ready to succeed with the current technology, which will be supplemented, but not supplanted, by new developments.
Truth be told, I am working with a bunch of great folks and we are going to have fun as well as memorable sessions. If you will be there, remember that the post-training debriefings happen in the bar. I will have a Pinot Grigio, please.

Sorry for the delayed response. It was pretty good. Texture was similar to a potato, and it really picked up the taste of the corned beef liquid.

Well, update on my "new doctor" visit from yesterday. I really, really, REALLY like this fellow! His philosophy of medicine is right up the alley with mine....there is room for BOTH traditional and alternative medicine/therapies!! WOO-HOO!! He spent a lot of time with me yesterday, just talking, since it was a new patient visit. I go back in Oct for a more traditional pap smear and lab visit. I think I'm gonna like this doctor!!
Today I will be preparing for my big job tomorrow, doing the whole mall in my town...I know it well, so, looking forward to this, a day at the mall, and getting paid, does it get any better? LOL

I am nearly finished with March plans... last month, I had the hair trimmed and purchased color for it. This month, I will apply the color... The great thing is that the color is me-proof. I cannot mess it up! grinning smiley

Going to a Rotary function this evening. Once a year we have a Rotary Day with a catered dinner and invite the public to showcase the service projects we do in the community and generate interest in possible new members. It is a welcome change to the grueling schedule of tax season. This is the time of year I experience tax preparation burnout and actually start looking forward to a busy mystery shopping schedule. I'll be doing a lot more shopping after the 17th, and I'm starting to look for jobs.
I have only two jobs today. Yay! *does a little happy dance* Speaking of volunteering, I would like to do a particular volunteer task with the hubby. He does not want to do that, but he might want to do something else. (He likes sporadic and one-off projects. We are finishing one now. I would not mind an ongoing or recurring project.)

Put drops of hydrogen peroxide in both ears and gargled with a mouthwash peroxide mixture, hoping that sinus drainage and throat tickle is just allergies--the thing is, nothing is blooming yet here (still too cold) for it to be pollen-related. Going to take some airborne and back to bed for awhile. Maybe I will be all better by the time I have to go do my shops.
Jas, feel better...busy day for me shopping, lunch out, home. We always have dust here, wind blows things around. I was allergic to my comforter, got a new one and eye allergy much better, Dr. also gave a prescription for dry eye which helped....up to five drops a day, amazing I remember to take them all at the right time.

Catching up on Hollywood Gossip. Channing Tatum and Jenna divorcing. There is something so common about the joint statement celebrities issue these days. "We are still in love with each other. We respect each other a lot and our children continue to be our priority". OK Love- check, respect-check, kids-check and then why the hell are you divorcing?? Can't they openly say "We stopped loving each other, respecting each other". Or is that a new thing..being madly in LOVE after divorcing..Sorry, ranting!!
I am at my full time job then doing 4 shops on the way home. Then home for the weekend.

Would you still love and respect your hubby if he cheated? I won't. I would have no problem telling the world exactly that. My point is why do they have to fake when they feel otherwise.
I have a final exam next week. I spent most of this week preparing for it. After work this week, I ran some errands.

The class I took last semester was a nightmare. It was a graduate level research course, and the professor graded us without reading our submittals. This semester is a math class, which is my wheel house.

Cheating sucks and I have been cheated on, and I quit the relationship when it happened because they didn't only cheat, they were serial cheaters and then lied to me. Lying is worse because that's an insult to my intelligence and shows a horrible lack of integrity. That one was unforgivable for me.

Maybe these people who are splitting didn't cheat and they just "fell out of love", but dumbasses these days think that it's time to give up and quit when the bloom wilts off the rosebush, instead of waiting for another blossom to appear. Sheesh, yeah, after a couple of years they get irritated and their SO maybe isn't "doing it" for them anymore. If they just tough it out and give it a chance, it's worth the wait. Just my opinion. As long as there aren't any huge moral transgressions and the integrity is still intact, stick it out.
