What are you doing today? (besides shopping)

I have to brag that I was very good. I didn't touch any desserts, I ate mostly salad and carrots with just a little stuffing and mashed potatoes. I did have 3 crackers with cheese ball but I had to so I would feel like it was Christmas! I hope everyone had a nice holiday. Today I have a 5guys to do that they were throwing money at. They must have had a flake. Once that is done I am beginning a very strict diet. The last 6 months of crappy food has taken it's toll and its time to take care of business.

I know I had way to many sweets time to strated testing my sugar like I should . My Christmas was very nice went to Whcita and saw my brother on Christmas Eve day , then the candlelight service at church, then host my sister in law and her family for gift excharge on Christmas Eve. There was just the three of us on Christmas itself. We watch It's A Charles Brown Christmas then Jeff passout the gifts. We had bakes pecan french toast for breakfast , and had dinner around 6PM with all the trimmings.
The usual in terms of work and errands. But the great news is that I am wearing the next smaller size. I hoped that I might wear them at New Year's, but I made it today. Huzzah! Now, I choose the SMART goal for the next smaller size. Then, I work it.

School work (Reading, handwriting practice, money addition...makes me wonder how much work they have in Kindergarten these days) with my daughter. Treadmill at home while watching Black Mirror on Netflix. Then this giant pumpkin has been staring at me for a week. So, I made a loaf of gluten free pumpkin bread. It is the best! No shops for now. 1 phone shop tomorrow and done for the year.
Had a great chat over a great Tex-Mex lunch with a shopper buddy. Three more days to finish 7 more shops. All have flexible due dates so I played hooky today.

Staying home, it's ungodly cold so I'm grateful i don't have to go out in it. Keeping the outdoor cats in fresh water (they have heated tents). Had a long chat with an old friend which was really nice. Catching up on some laundry and playing a computer game. Tomorrow is soon enough for harder work. Today is about catching my breath and choosing my focus.
Drove back from Austin in the morning and straight to my job. Back to reality. I have actually lost a few pounds, and quite happy about it.
Let's see...what have I done today besides shopping? Well, hubby & I got back home about 2:30 from our trip to Jacksonville, FL to visit family for Christmas. Then, about 3 pm, I went out grocery shopping (not MSing), got back in at 5:30. Then I spent the next 4 hours putting away groceries, making DELICIOUS black-bean vegan brownies, banana pudding, a pumpkin pie, deviled eggs, washed 3 loads of clothes (have to go throw the last load in the dryer in a minute), vacuumed the house, and now I'm checking the forum...PHEW! I'm bushed! But we're having 4 friends over tomorrow for our annual between Christmas and New Year's get-together. It's something I like to do! Tomorrow I'll be busy finishing up cleaning the house and getting the rest of the food ready....meatballs, mac & cheese, dips, veggies, cheeses, BBQ wings, pigs in a blanket, chicken salad, crackers, rolls....yum yum!!!

At least you didn't/don't have to bake them.

I never minded baking them. It's decorating. Rather would do a 5 tier wedding cake than 12 cupcakes. That said, I love doing holiday cookies.

Live your life in such a way that when your feet hit the floor in the morning; the devil shudders...And yells OH #%*+! SHE'S AWAKE!
Next Friday the 5th I have the ladies from my Sunday School class coming over , we will be making vison broads for 2018. So today I am going to begin cutting out some pictures they can use on their broads. I also need to wash clothes today or tomorrow. That is my plan for the day beside my quite time.
Last day to enjoy no work, starting tomorrow big job and Sat. two groceries. Jan. just may be busy....may look for a new pair of jammies, cold at night, need my flannels. Day starting out at 60%, warming up to 81%,drops to 48ish in the evening, layering works. No rain in sight, yet another drought.
Great weather here in L.A. 4 below in Chicago, my kid never complains and I worry enough for the two of us.

Irene, our morning started out at 27 degrees....brrrrr!! And this is in SC!!! Very chilly and cold for us here for the next week or so. I'll trade you our 20s & 30s for your 60s & 80s!! Also, hope you are out of all dangers from the fires now.
Yes, fire 85% contained and no wind...thank G__ that's over for now, We do have amazing winters here, hardly seems like winter, but (for us) it's cold morning and night, days warm....we are so spoiled, but I love my scarfs and sweaters. stay warm!!!

I would be delighted with 27 degrees. Our day started out at 7 with a wind chill of -1. It's so cold in the house that we have left our faucets dripping. I think today I should find something to keep me moving so I don't freeze. I guess I'll run up and downstairs doing laundry and some vacuuming and dusting.
15F but windy here this AM. Discovered that my winter jacket is not as windproof as I recalled! Tomorrow I will add the windproof shell underneath the coat!

Had to cut my shopping work short and take my car to Costco Tire Center near home. A tire installed in September appears to have been damaged. They will keep the car overnight since they cannot guarantee when they will take it in, and I cannot drive after dark. This sure will complicate my last 2 work days of the year, Friday and Saturday. Can't do a garage valet shop with an Uber, lol.

ETA Good news. No real damage done, just very low on air. I can get the car in the morning and wrap up my work month tomorrow!

Coffee, I grew up in Mass. and very well remembering how cold it was some nights, that we left our faucets dripping. Hadn't thought about that in ages!! Thanks for the memory....and glad it's ONLY a memory now. Hope you stay warm!
Cold lover here. The early morning/middle of the night freezes are brisk! Invigorating! Enlivening! Okay. It is really #@%^ cold when I go to work in the middle of the winter nights. I like this anyway. I see more stars and critters than cars and humans. Occasionally, I catch a glimpse of a scene that reminds me of Currier & Ives. This is some kind of perfection-- for me. It is not for everyone.

Just now, I am trying to stay awake. I have to finish one load of laundry and one report before I can sleep.

If it's gonna be cold I want to see the aurealis borealis, by golly. I went out today and yesterday in crappy weather, ranging from 5 to 15 degrees F actual with wind chills from -4 to 10 F...and we don't have any F'N northern lights. I'll show you Fahrenheit, MF. And F this.
Enjoying the snow from inside.. way too cold to go outside. Had fun with my daughter. We made a big building and some tiny houses from the block sets I got her for Christmas. No shops but got some assigned for Jan.
The extremely early morning job was delayed/possibly canceled due to weather conditions. Thus, I have no excuse for not working on projects. Meanwhile, I added one shop for January. In a few days, l will build a decent shopping day around that one assignment. So there are no more excuses. I need to follow the prodding of my current signature. bwahaha.

Had been assigning jobs for Jan., and got about 7 the first week, three being restaurants...here I go again, goodbye diet, hello new year......today, more play, gotta love the weather. Stay warm friends, chance to get out your boots, scarfs and winter wear.

I am doing wash today and looking for shops . I just have four for all of January so far , three are Merchanize jobs and one a fast food shop. I guess I could also finn out the papers the eye doctor send me to have ready for him on the 8th when I see him.
Finishing up groceries. Enjoying the snow. Watching TV. Assigned a few shops for Jan. Planning a nice menu for 3 days and also dreading the weight gain!! Oh well, diet and workout again in Jan. Guess, I will enjoy the last 3 days. @Irene_L.A., btw plenty of good restaurant and bakery shops in ur area..don't know where u r exactly in LA and if u r signed up with BM..
Celebrating 22 years of marital bliss! No shopping today.

Hey Mum, who is Jan and why are you assigning shops for him or her?winking smiley

Today, I am catching up with my housework and cooking. I stupidly used the Community Bus to pick up my prescription, instead of scheduling a ride with the Wheeltrans and I had to fight the unshovelled sidewalk to cross the crosswalk in my walker loaded with groceries. The only thing I could do earlie was complete surveys to earn points. I've had some bonus calls for movie shops, but I didn't think I could handle that with my walker.

Lisa, thanks for the tip on removing the labels on glasses. They worked like magic. That's what I have been doing early in the morning to have enough good containers for my homemade cookies.
