I went to Tulsa today did three small jobs and one Merchanding job , very easy one too. Then I found the Christmas gift I want for my hubby.
Some of my Mom's family was in town for a week, so I went up for the weekend. I spent quality time with the family, and ate like a fat girl. It was an amazing weekend!

I flew home today. Unpacking, online banking, etc. Found that someone made a duplicate of one of my credit cards (possibly via a skimmer a few weeks back?) and tried to buy $284 plus change at a Big Lots in my city while I was out of state. My cc company was on top of it as they declined the charge when the thief tried to use it. They canceled the card and are sending me a new one. It's a chip card and only was swiped at two places in the past couple of months that didn't have chip reader machines so I think I know where it happened (one was the post office--pretty sure it wasn't there!). Turns out my cc company doesn't investigate any further into how these things happen. It's on the consumer to follow up with local law enforcement. Most people don't bother if they didn't have any out of pocket repercussions. But I'm pissed and I want to make sure this doesn't happen to someone else, so I'm calling the sheriff tomorrow and am going to try to get this place of business investigated. Hope they make an effort in due diligence.
I was able to get turkey necks yesterday, so today they are going into the slow cooker to make a base for turkey gravy. Tomorrow or Friday I will roast some turkey thighs and use the drippings and that broth to make a rich gravy!

My son's physical therapist is coming this afternoon. This will be her second visit.
My husband and I are in the process of an adoption. When the physical therapist leaves I'll go to my mom's house to scan the questionnaire they had us fill out so I can email it to our home study caseworkers.
How wonderful! There are sooooo many children in need of a loving family. My brother and sister-in-law adopted and one of their adopted sons and his wife then adopted 3 children. To me, that was a real testimony to the adopted son's experience and a salute to his parents.

Getting my hair cut today, getting a few groceries, and then tidying up the house a bit, since my darling son, precious DIL and beautiful 2 yr old granddaughter will be visiting tomorrow for our Christmas get-together!!
I wrapped two gifts this morning , then when Lannie gets off we will go to Stillwater to get clothes out of the cleaners. Then I have one job to do , I just get it this morning. It say like it maybe long but still easy. Wish me luck
Luck! grinning smiley

I am loving the old part of the huge city. Some of these places in the 'burbs are oooooooold. I have to pull my attention away from the comfortable splay of the old that is disrupted by jarring insertions of the new. I am here to work! Heigh-ho, heigh-ho...

heigh ho is right, off I go into the day...library to print out instructions for my oh so huge job tomorrow.
traffic in mall will be place to stay out of today. Sprouts for their Wed. sale on fresh fruits and whatever.
Home and scheduling to have my house professionally cleaned...thank the lord, I hate cleaning. The day
will play out as should be, spontaneous, what will be, will be.....

Regarding the attempted credit card fraud against me: Deputy sheriff just left. He said that it would be difficult figuring out how it happened since it was possible that the card was not duplicated with a skimmer and my numbers were obtained otherwise, and it would be hard to pinpoint how that occurred and who the perpetrators were, even though I have the time and date that they tried to use my card at a Big Lots store in my area. He also said that getting video from the store where they tried to use my card would be sketchy at best, and figuring out which customer it was would be difficult, and then finding them. He also told me that because their detectives were so overwhelmed with major cases such as murders, rapes, etc. that this incident would be on the backburner, and since I wasn't an actual victim (because the fraudulent charges were denied), there was no point in filing a report. He says that this stuff happens all the time and my best bet was just to keep an eye on my credit reports and make sure that no new accounts were opened in my name. So the scammers just keep on taking advantage of others and no one tries to catch them because law enforcement is overwhelmed with other crimes.
How strange. When credit cards are stolen around here it is not uncommon to see retail store video of the perps on the nightly news. It's not like we don't have our share of other serious crimes.

JAS, about 8 years ago, my bank debit card number was somehow gotten and used in the southern part of my state (I live in the NW part) to buy a $250+ dollar camera. But in this case, since my card number was fraudulently used, I was able to file a police report. They did research it, and found out it was part of a larger ring of WALMART ASSOCIATES taking people's DC #s and using them for themselves or their friends!! It was a pretty big story up in my part of the state for a while. And get this....the perp "claimed" I gave him permission to use my card to purchase the camera....yeah, right. It took a couple of weeks, as I remember, but I got my money put back in to my account, and of course, got a new DC from the bank. I RARELY use my DC at Wally World any more, and if I do, I am very careful to COVER the pinpad with my hands so no one, and no camera, can see the numbers I am inputting. Sorry this happened to you, but glad it was stopped in time! It's unnerving, isn't it??

So sorry that happened to you, guysmom. Glad it worked out okay. But that's one reason I never use a debit card. Years ago a friend had someone steal her debit card and somehow got her PIN (it was a friend of one of her children) and they drained her account. It made me leery so I cut mine up when they came in the mail. I know that many people use them and never have any trouble at all, but with credit cards I think it is easier to deal with fraud.

Off I go to do a few convenience store shops and to the grocery store to buy some gift cards for Xmas presents...we are doing Christmas "lite" this year.
Jas, it could have been a Big Lots employee copying down your account # another time. do you shop there.
Good for the card to not let it go through, that takes forever to resolve....I'm sure they'll find others.

My goal for today and tomorrow is laundry. I hang my laundry whenever possible. It's in the 70's today and supposedly tomorrow. After tomorrow it will be in the 60's, rainy and blech weather.

Yes, I'm spoiled because I live in TX and I find the 60's temperature wise a little cold to hang out wet laundry.

If anyone is interested, my purchase of the big Brabantia clothesline has been money well spent. A large load doesn't use up 1/4 of the space. 4 loads of laundry & still didn't use 1/2 of the available space. then again, I haven't hung the bedding.

If I have time this week I will check out the stand used for umbrellas. I'd like the clothesline to be about 2 inches higher for the bedding.

Happy Holidays

No, I don't shop there. At least not in the last 8 or more years. The card was duplicated at a restaurant I'm pretty sure. It was a chip card that I only ever had to swipe twice. Once was a post office, the other a restaurant. Yes,, thank goodness no harm came from it.
Oh, MA...LOL my clothes would freeze on the line 4 months out of the year, and many other days it's quite humid here in NE Ohio where there are a lot of lakes.

I was in Texas in November and enjoyed the weather immensely. My family lives in SE Texas where it's very humid (bayou country) and I am guessing you live in a more arid climate...enjoy your weather!!!
MA..why don't you get a dryer...the time it takes to hang up clothes, can't imagine. You could be having a toddy while waiting for clothes to dry in dryer.....lifes easier with a washer/dryer...smiling smiley

Today I stocked up on food for the family members coming into town tomorrow. I also did some more cleaning. And discovered I'm coming down with a cold. WHY NOW?!?

Airborne!!!!!!! Did you forget? LOL. I always take it several days before I have to be on a plane on in an environment where there are a lot of germs (just about any public place, ick). I hope you feel better.
Thanks. I was a little concerned at first that I might have the flu (which has been going through my circle of friends), but it seems to be just a simple cold. I've had mixed results with Airborne. I've been hydrating myself with hot water with lemon alternating with hot water with ginger and turmeric.

I live on the north side of Canyon Lake. I'm about 30 miles west of New Braunfels. My side of the lake is known for never getting rain. When it does rain in my neighborhood; I'm flood bound anywhere from a few hours to multiple days. My road gets blocked off if there is a freeze or flood situation.

I'm only trying to take advantage of some good weather. It's going to look like Cleveland again on Friday. (it's looked like Cleveland, Monday & Tuesday) How do I know it looks like Cleveland?, you ask. Well, when Dad retired from AF, we landed in Stow. Not a true suburb of Akron or Cleveland., We did live 5 miles from Blossom,; no the proximity didn't help with the lines.. Cruddy daylight, smelled like burnt rubber and still needed snow tires, with not enough snow to run a Ski Doo.

Happy Holidays.

Forgot, the Browns didn't win back then either.

I'm taking my son to see a neurologist today. He has seizures when he gets a fever. He's had so many of them they need to run some tests to be sure they are just febrile (caused by fever) seizures and he doesn't have some other seizure disorder. After his appointment we will go to the grocery store to get some things for some Christmas baking.
I'm finishing up a few highly bonused shops today, a mini-route. I'm pretty sure when I get home it's going to be just a hot shower, pajamas and opening a can of soup for dinner.
Good luck! There's never a good time for specialist's visits, but the days right before Christmas just seem particularly wrong.

Work. Work at home. More work. Still more work. At some point, I should look for a GPS. (I have one that is so Gosh-danged Politically Smashed that it can't distinguish between north and south. North does not exist. There is only south.) Eventually, I finish the holiday cards, listen to holiday music, and give my back some TLC.

MA, I love Texas hill country. My cousin lived in that area for awhile. My stepdaughter lives in Austin which isn't all that far away, and I love using her house for a launching point to take small trips when in that area.

I live in a suburb of Akron and do shops in Stow from time to time. You'll be happy to know that they quit making tires around here a few decades ago and the air quality is much better.
