I discovered a new wine yesterday. Instead of going to Total Wines and getting my regular, I went to a local spot very close to home. They had a distributor in who was doing a tasting. I fell in love with a wine in a box!

For the past week I've been leaving uncompleted projects scattered around the house. Today I made a dent in them. And made a Market Force scheduler happy by accepting his request for a lunchtime burger shop.

I am lollygagging in a hotel room, between Sunday and Monday shops. Soon, I can start the first assignment of the day. But first, I will have the customary cuppa.

Dropping my Christmas packages off at the PO and buying stamps for our Christmas cards. I use the Click N Ship a lot off the USPS site to buy my postage and print off the labels, and it's a great time saver! (However, last week, I WAS able to grab a regular PO shop bonused to $25 plus the $11 reimb, and mailed one of my packages early! Merry Christmas to me!)
In my opinion, K-cups are horrible. They can't be recycled and they clog up the landfills with more trash that will still be there hundreds of years (maybe thousands) from now. I do like one cup brewers but they have refillable pods you can use and then you can compost your coffee grinds...I am sure that at a hotel they don't offer that option, however.
Work, finish inside decorating, play ball with the dogs, wrap a couple of gifts.

walesmaven, on the coffee thread, several posters mentioned their beloved Keurig and other coffee systems. (I love instant coffee because it's nukeable and requires no counter space in my tiny kitchen.) I felt quite out of place among the coffee experts who know so much about coffee and the coffee industry.

When hotels still supplied real little coffeemakers, I took my own freshly ground beans. After the move toward Keurig and other pod type machines, I got a travel French Press. Not as fast as the pod machines, but it actually tastes like coffee.

Doing a bank because they're paying the 16th....cleaning (again) my closest as Salvation Army is picking up stuff Thursday. Finding a weight lifted off my shoulders getting rid of stuff I don't use. Watching news, keeping up with Santa Barbara fire, the largest in history. Doing report and looking for a couple more jobs....playing on computer.

My day just got funner. I am watching the 1974 version of Murder on the Orient Express and comparing it to the current version of the film and a PC game from the early 2000s. (Yes. I know.) Now, we have terminology and treatments for the extreme overreactions. Then, not so much.....

One more hour of packaging for holiday shipping, one more trip to the post office. I will drop off housemate at the local transit center as she heads downtown to caroling and Advent supper and vespers at her church. It is brutally cold and windy here today. A good day to make chili!

This afternoon a physical therapist is coming to work with my son. He was born with clubfeet and has double jointed knees so he's a little behind with learning to walk. This will be her first time to visit so I assume she will just talk with us and discuss her plan.
I have one shop due today. I also should have my quite time , and clean house some. My floors did some loveling care
Work, trying to correct a FAFSA and the site is being buggy. Listening to Christmas music and enjoying the season.
Prepping for tomorrow's shops. One part of me thinks that these three tasks should be the last assignments for the year, but another part of me says I should be willing to do bonused shops if any are available later in the month. A third part of me says, 'Waaaaaa!' and wants a nap. A fourth part is too tired to care. It is the one that is studying, I mean taking a break from studying and playing on the forum.

Hi JAS. Speaking as an Environmental Engineer, some K-Cups can't be recycled, but all of them can be repurposed. You just have to be creative.
Recycling isn't a big issue. Everything that can't get recycled gets burned for energy. That lowers your electric bill. Did you know that the trash to energy plants have employees who sort the trash by hand?
Throw those K-Cups out!

Well, hubby likes a real Christmas tree, but after nearly 30 years I am SOOoooo done decorating 6' trees! So for the second year in a row, we got a small tree and had it cut down to 4'4", and put it in a tree stand on a small table in front of our living room window. Perfect!! So tonight, after I got in from doing 5 convenience store/lottery shops and 1 grocery shop, we decorated our little tree. And I got a new Christmas tree skirt for a BUCK from Dollar Tree, and it's SO cute! And after supper, I decorated our fireplace mantel and hung our yet-to-be-filled-still-empty Christmas stockings!! And while it's just hubby and I here now (and dog too!), our son and daughter in law & grandbaby, and our other son will be here visiting over Christmas...hence, 6 stockings!! 
No shops for the first time in I don't know when, but trying to wrap up Christmas shopping, so lots of time in stores anyway. Second potluck party of the week. This time I was assigned a dessert, so I brought a large bowl of clementines. People really seemed to enjoy them.

Well, they are ridiculously expensive anyway. I would rather not buy kcups for that reason as well.
Are you saying that kcups don't end up in the landfills? In my township we have household trash in one container and our recycling in another. I didn't know people were sorting through our household trash. I thought they hauled our trash off to the landfill. I'm surprised they allow for burning since I live in a high emission area. Cars here have to get e-checked every two years. They used to make tires here and the air pollution is considerable.
