What are you doing today? (besides shopping)

I put my treasures in the car just in case.....town is really in crisis. street lights all out, power off and on, freeways closed, where to go? Once the winds calm down, they can control it.....say a little prayer.

I have, but thanks for reminding me to get some in the house. Fortunately my issue came and went in less than 24 hours. Might not be so lucky next time.

Kathy, have you tried airborne? You can buy it at CVS or any drugstore, Wal-Mart, etc. Its about $6. It dissolves in water and you drink it. It has vitamin c, echinacea, zinc, and more, and doesn't taste bad. It was developed by a grade school teacher and it cuts your cold downtime in half.

Hopefully some more Christmas shopping. I finally got wish list for a couple more people.
Work. Extra work. New shoes! More holiday cards. Clean washer/dryer. Yawn.

Two quick shops. Mall walking before the stores open. Buying and freezing meat for big family holiday dinner while it's on sale.

City wide ladies Bible study today , then a lucheon afterwards the leaders put on for us. Then I need to do some phone calls including lineing up two apartment shops for tomorrow. Some how I have to get a quite time in the day.
Watching news and the latest fire that broke out near the Getty Center and Mandeville Canyon, the whole of L.A. seems to be on fire....winds calmed own but flaring up again today. Fire in my town moving in another direction, only 5% out, (stop the world i want to get off). I'm going to Macy's, funny how I feel safe there...hoping there's an end soon.

Errands. Returning to projects. Every room in this place is/has at least one project. *sigh* This is because I worked too much and have not completed all the projects on the list. I am grateful for the money that I earned, and I know that I will live and work differently in 2018.

So I have vowed to myself that next year, I will start with twelve assignments. If, after I complete twelve, my world is still organized and wonderful, I can add one more. If that assignment does not have a negative impact at home, I may add another one. And so on through the year. That is my New Year's resolution.

Today i am thankful for my home and the fire being contained (at least in my area). I am thankful to see and hear how concerned my daughter was for me watching our fires in another state and hearing my street named... .I know I am loved. Later I will go out and do my Mod Pizza and enjoy it not caring that there is no fee...smiling smiley Life sometimes means more than an extra two bucks. Today is a day of reflection.....

Work, two shops after work, see my daughter for the weekend (Yay!), start decorating the tree.
This week I was tied up with a research paper for grad school. I sent it to the school's writing lab, I'll incorporate their feedback on Saturday, and I'll submit my paper on Sunday. Other than that, the holiday parties are in full swing at work. It's nice drinking a glass of wine at my desk.

I'm at the end of the Ventura fire, the first and largest...burned all along the freeway to my town about 1/4 mile from where I live. The freeways here have dry brush lots of wilderness since we don't get much rain but in my years of living here was never effected, humbled to to say the least. Air quality awful, all schools closed due to that. My development is fine as are the homes, power is out along with street lights....sad smiley

Really glad to hear you are okay, Irene. I was telling my husband about it the other day and though neither of us know you, we were concerned for your safety (and that of other people in your area).
THX Jas, not over yet, but much better...today looks calm, so far....sad for the ones that lost their homes.
edited to add...Today, going out and about nothing special, home alot.

Yes, one does put their antenia down when your not in danger, many are saying someone is starting them, because there are new fires breaking out all through the county....huge one in San Diego.and remember this
summer Napa Valley (wine country) in No.CA. had a huge fire destroying many smaller winery's. Has been a year for natural disaster's ...stressful to say the least.....

Stay safe, Irene.

My accordion teacher put together a little accordion band and she asked me to join. We will be playing at a Christmas market today.
We are going to Tulsa today my son is holding a protest Protest . to save the Net
Public ยท Hosted by Jeff Key . He has a post about it on face book , if any one is in the area and would care to take part. I have one shop to do today too.
What fun!

We are getting the first snowfall of the season. There may be accumulation of up to 3 inches. In this area, where snow driving is not a common skill, that will mean lots of accidents blocking streets and roads. Those of us who learned to drive in snowier regions try to stay off the roads while the novices are at play. So, I will be cooking for the week, doing laundry, prepping Christmas packages to mail on Monday and moving a ton of stuff from my old computer to my new (to me) computer. (Refurbished is the way to go!)

At the rate I am going, I will be caught up at 4 PM on New Year's Eve. That's the plan, anyway.

Today 80% and beautiful here, going to join friends for morning coffee, pop into .99 store, take clothes and whatever to help fire victims, doing a grocery, opening my Chanakah gift to myself, (Magic Bullet) where I
will play with making an amazing and healthy smoothie, Heard on the news just now, Rye fire 70% contained, just burning itself out in the brush, no homes in danger, Getty fire contained, no homes in danger and no wind.

Work. More work. Transportable projects (which can be completed between jobs). At the very end of the day, a gentle workout with wonderful music.

No work, but roaming around my town, sweeping leaves out of my garage (you asked)....assuring daughter Mom's o.k., the news looks scarier than what is happening in my town. Enjoying the day, composing letter to my Daughter for Channakah. (I write poems, who knew) Working tomorrow for my least favorite MSC.....sad smiley
