What are you doing today? (besides shopping)

This morning the chimney folks are coming to inspect and, if necessary, clean the chimney before the new housemate (basement apartment) has her first fire of the season. I suspect that the damper control mechanism may need adjustment and/or lubrication. Later, lunch with a shopper buddy (and Forum member). For this birthday lunch I am treating at a really good local deli. Then home to collect the other (non-driving) housemate for a bunch of errands: bank deposits (rents), wine store, groceries.

Today, a meeting, errands, and one gas station shop. Tonight, volunteering at a play being performed at my church, then watching said play.

Shopping and playing at the same time....will see Bad Moms at a movie shop. come home and make my world famous tortilla soup. The weather turned cold, so happy Dec. 3rd, the 80% went away. Going to finish cleaning out garage. Salvation Army scheduled to come take it away next week.... playing Candy Crush to my hearts content.....holiday gifts went out yesterday, Channakah is the 12th. this year. New eye drops doing better, all is good.

The installation in my kitchen of the Euro-style combo washer/dryer (One unit, not 2) was completed yesterday. The test load ran so smoothly, and silently, that I kept going there to make certain that it was still running. Today, I will do several loads of laundry, trying out different settings for wash, spin and dry to find the "sweet spot" in terms of total time and degree of dryness. Meanwhile, I have a lot of kitchen clean-up that accumulated yesterday while I was cooking and baking stuff to freeze or to eat this week. Also, cranberry nut bread with my breakfast coffee!! Finally, time to plan out this week's shops (One 2 day route, and 3 one day routes) and get ready to meet and orient a shopper that I have recruited to do shops in the Greater Baltimore area for one of my MSC clients. (She will ride shotgun when I do 2-3 shops there.)

Thursday I went to The Kennedy Center of Performing Arts to see a tribute to Marian Anderson. I walked there from work, about an hour and 45 minutes. The performance was beautiful.

Took advantage of almost 70 degree weather and walked up to church for a volunteer commitment. Went to a nearby Asian market and came out with a bagful of exotic cooking ingredients. Put up the Christmas tree with an eye to one year old being here for the holidays.

I'm taking my son to the doctor this morning. This afternoon if we're feeling up to it, my whole family has been sick, I'll head to Target and do a little Christmas shopping.
Staying home, car wash, then out for a dinner job at BJ's, ...tonight final Voice winner, just doing stuff, nothing too shattering.

Vacuuming, watering plants, clean bathrooms, doing laundry, going to the bank. Then repacking my suitcase with the same stuff I unpacked last week. Heading out to Phoenix tomorrow, yay!
One video shop before returning home to finish the outdoor decorating while it was still close to 70. I'm still working on the ornaments on the tree on the front porch and it is still in the 60's. Much nicer than the high of 40 tomorrow. And yes, I have a fully decorated Christmas tree on my front porch.

Decorated the house with an eye to that same one year old being here for the holidays. Ran one errand, but started feeling bad and came home. Hubby was sick over the weekend and I'm afraid I caught whatever he had. The good news is that he shook it in 24 hours.

I'm up way too late. I volunteered to be the group leader for a walking group at my church, so I was getting that organized tonight. I also had a phone bible study. Then, the plan was to do homework, but I vegged out. Now, I'm going to bed.

I worked at one thing or another, off and on, since 12:30 AM. I also had a good time buying coat, boots, and books. I am very tired and very well prepared to be well read and warm when next I venture out into the cold outdoors.

Kathy, have you tried airborne? You can buy it at CVS or any drugstore, Wal-Mart, etc. Its about $6. It dissolves in water and you drink it. It has vitamin c, echinacea, zinc, and more, and doesn't taste bad. It was developed by a grade school teacher and it cuts your cold downtime in half.
Here's hoping that everyone is healthy and happy. All I have to do is stay awake, finish a report, complete twelve or nineteen house tasks, prepare holiday cards, and get a new pair of walking shoes. The old ones finally cratered. Somehow, that is good news...

Sitting on the plane...putting phone in airplane mode right now. Looking forward to sunny skies and lying by the pool for 2 weeks!
Staying close to home. winds up to 70 miles an hour, huge fire in Ventura County near Santa Barbara, everything here dry, not good, 31000 acres burned,....never saw anything like it, started in Santa Paula (wine country). I will clean house and do things i've put off.

So sorry to hear of the fires again!! Stay safe. Maybe you should leave if it's only a mile away, that's scary.
