Advice learned the hard way...when you up your fiber content you should up your water intake, too, which keeps all that fiber moving through the system :-)

Kathy, everything is "smooth" so far. I already drink a bunch of water daily as it is so I never had any problems anyway. But, fruits and vegetables are 70% water. It's dry fiber like bran flakes and nuts that require additional water intake to move through your system properly.

Sorry, Irene, LOL.
Nothing is scared..LOL Today is library and a possible interview for a student to stay with me for one semester.
We have two colleges with no living quarters one is a two year college and the other is the Art Institute of L.A..
I think I may do this, am looking into it. have cleaned my house so will be on computer and trying to make appt.
for a Business Verification job I'm doing this week and preparing for my new home job. Have Eye Dr.'s appt, every four months like clockwork.

Nope, Irene, BMs have never been sacred, at least not in my house. Although I have heard my husband say, "Holy s#$t" before, LOL.
If you invite someone into your home for a semester, do you have a safe to lock up your valuables? I think it's noble and honorable to want to help a student, but do you worry about someone disrupting your lifestyle and maybe not cleaning up after themselves properly?

Holy crap, this forum is going to hell in a handbag...sad smiley LOL

Yes, it's going to chit. I think it's handbasket but handbag makes more sense nowadays because no one carries handbaskets anymore. At least that I know of.

it's a law, no handbaskets allowed.....

Today I'm hanging out at home with the workmen. Lots of pounding and sawing and power tools. I'm watching videos about painting techniques and decoupaging old furniture. I'm hungry but can't leave to find food. Maybe some cheese and crackers.
My youngest cam home for one night from college. Lots of talking and movie night. I loved it! Back to work the next day.
I"ll have to hunt and gather (at the grocery store) after they all leave. We have nothing. The kitchen drywall is almost complete. The electrical upgrades in the bathroom should be complete today. The plumber was here. I"m guessing 2 more weeks to complete all of it. If my memory is correct, it's dry wall, paint, cabinets, counter tops, floor. In that order.

@JASFLALMT wrote:

No hunting or gathering today, eh? Glad the workmen are working, how much longer?
Those are the best times right? I have always thought so.

Early morning job. Choosing more new-to-me authors. Prepping for final mini road trip of the month, which allows me to visit a gorgeous national park. So good.

Now that I have my NV work card I am registering with (actually it is applying for employment with) each of the MSCs that have NV PI licenses. Since these really are employment, not IC, positions, it's a LOT of paperwork. Also, a shampoo and deep conditioning, returning some video shirt possibilities that turned out to be too small; budgeting for October; paying the last September bills; maybe, a manicure.

Based in MD, near DC
Shopping from the Carolinas to New York
Have video cam; will travel

Poor customer service? Don't get mad; get video.
Change in plans. I have decided to dip into one of my fave books. It's called 'They Thought for Themselves'. It is timely relative to a major holy day, and it is helpful at any time for anyone who needs a little courage to engage in reflection. I chose this over new-to-me authors because of a few current issues in which truth and wisdom may have been sacrificed in an attempt to place someone's power agenda over all. It does no good to complain that myriad issues have taken shape in questionable ways. It does me a great deal of good when I strengthen my own skills in identifying ideas and facts that comprise each issue.

i'm going to sit outside at a restaurant on the lake and have lunch with a friend. After that I will come home and vacuum my house, sigh.
Left work yesterday, heard the dreaded message noise, 5 pounds of pressure in a tire. Made it to a store with air, called my son, he tells me no water in his radiator and the A/C is making a noise. Ughhh, hate these kind of days. This morning had the flat fixed. Son's friend will flush the radiator, will probably still need to be serviced, but that's part of life.
Zumba at the gym, errands, and trying to perfect a pizza crust made out of masa.

'I would put a lock on my bedroom door where I have a safe for my papers and jewelry. Still looking into it, and will care for my property when and if it happens.
I'm not "inviting", I'm going with an agency that has contracts and their tuition pays the price of housing.
The kids find a room here for a semester , then meet others their own age, and find their own apt. I'm close to the college, so they don't need a car, we have great transportation, easy to get around.

Went to eye Dr. and eyes have improved greatly...come out and find a flat tire, Call AAA and they put on spare.
Drive to tire place and need two new tires.....place busy so, at 11;00 go into Inn@Out and get a burger and coffee. Hang out on phone for an hour. Unable to do my job, but have a couple more days. Home and tired.

I'm very interested in trying this. How was it?

It's not there yet. I hate it when I have ideas in my mind and they don't pan out. What I want is a pizza-sized corn tortilla that I can bake and top. This one ended up being too crumbly, but I'll keep trying.

Maybe an egg would make it not so crumbly? I find it hard to work with masa but it's probably just my lack of experience. I can do tamales and that is about it.
