What are you doing today? (besides shopping)

I Am Pissing Off The Perfectionist Because I Am Going Shopping When There Is Housework To Be Done. How Dare I Do Such A Thing! Hussy! Glutton! Slob! Etc.!

But all that really happened was, I added a few shops to the mystery shop/merchandising schedule. Hausfrau tasks will wait. The income is good now.

Before I go, I can do a few tasks. But only a few. I must leave here by a certain time in order to stay on schedule according to the locations' hours of operation and report deadlines.

I got up early, went out and started weeding. About an hour in a friend called and asked if I wanted to go shopping at the second hand stores so of course I said yes. I bought a teapot and a very old butter dish, and then we went to lunch. Leaving the restaurant she managed to back into a ditch so that was an adventure. Came home and got ready to go do a shop, came back and managed to set off the house alarm, which got my wife in an uproar. She was all Clint Eastwood with her gun ready to defend herself. It's been a very unusual day.
No shopping until tomorrow..an old friend/neighbor that moved to San Diego is coming in for a visit, so lunch at our old hangout and catching up. Gonna be a hot one (107) will be home with A/C blasting....so glad i moved to a Townhouse, no yard work, just go to the pool, but HMO is high, no free lunch.

Going to pick up my vintage kitchen island I bought, then a stop at the dollar store to do an errand for a friend who is having an emergency, and then back home to finish up all the yard work I've been doing today. I trimmed the bushes that needed it, whacked some weed trees coming up, raked it all up and when I get home I'll weed eat the area and sweep. Then I'll be ready for mulch for the winter.

MORE errands (why do they never end?!?). Hubby worked from home and was off the clock at 3:30, so we'll find something outside to do. It will be an early night. Tomorrow I have a meeting halfway across the state and have to leave my house at 6:15 in the morning.

I am contemplating the meaning of life and remembering that the morning job becomes busier on Wednesday. There will be more work every day. There will be work seven days per week. There will be more money. I will need more rest. I will love the money from morning job and I will miss the volume of assignments in this industry. I can still do a few assignments. I say that now. We'll see what happens as time passes and I become accustomed to a slightly different schedule. And, we will want to know if I am awake! grinning smiley

I agree with Kathy G. Errands are like dust bunnies. They multiply exponentially. I did them all day yesterday and have not made a dent. All the yard work I had planned had to wait. *sigh*
Coffee, gas which went up .20 gallon, pool and more pool, gonna be 107...help this winter lover.

Just got finished with a 40+ hour merchandising week with a few shops completed after each day. Been sitting in my pjs today, going to get in the shower soon and figure out what to do with my day...it's sunny and 70 out so it might be a good day for lunch on the lake.
After complaining early, I met the contractor and went over some things with him, had a friend over and gave her a bunch of stuff for her yard sale to benefit the soccer team, and then I passed back out on the couch. I am seriously sleep deprived. Just now woke up and am contemplating food. Too bad I have to go out and get it. I'd love to make a pot of chili . I guess Wendy's it is.
At last! My looooooooooooooooooooooooong work day is completed. The hubby was given incalculable hero citations for figuring out that when I leave a game disc in the tray, the 'puter will not process my images efficiently. I had left Physicus-- a phun little game-- in the tray and was wondering why the images were there, not there, etc. My little blooper caused a one hour delay in getting images into reports. Now, there is only a little laundry to do and a deep stretch to give to the back.

LOL! On the one day that I decided to take a nice, long nap and visit the forum late-ish, the forum was lively and interesting while I was asleep. I slept through all the excitement! Rats in a poke. *sigh*

On topic, I am gathering ingredients for an upcoming cooking weekend. I want to vary recipes and fill the freezer.

Busy day! Busy week! No shopping but doing prep work for a lengthy 35 day road trip! I'm excited as I will be hitting all 8 of the continental states that I haven't been to!

I napped all day while the wife went to get her conceal/carry permit. We've been having a lot of prowler activity on our block. Tomorrow we are meeting to see about getting a neighborhood watch started. i really enjoyed my day off.
I am lollygagging. This relaxation thing is pretty nice! At some point in the day, the now-mended fave car gets a brake inspection (and, if necessary, brakes). We will clean that car inside and out. We will detail it and enjoy it!

Until then, I am having quiet time. I'm browsing this forum and studying other information. This forum has quietened down from what it apparently was yesterday. The other stuff is as dull as ever. Oh, well. It contributes to the very nice relaxation thing. smiling smiley

Trying to stay cool, will be 107+ this week. House stuff, t.v. movie, pizza...but tomorrow will have lunch and a movie with my friend of 40 years...nothing like good food, good conversation and good connection....but today, lying low.
edited to add: had heart palputations, and dizziness...call in to Dr......my day went downhill.

I did one shop at a mall, then popped into three other stores to do personal business. Have a meeting tonight at 5:00 in the direction of the worst of the rush hour traffic. UGH! I'm tempted to leave early and find somewhere to hang out.

Glad you're feeling better, Irene. I remember trying to deal with that kind of heat, very well. Today I'm choosing my countertops. I've made a couple of forays into the world of countertops already, but today I will make the final choice. It's so permanent LOL. I really really want some high end recycled glass ones, but the practical side of me is pointing out the solid surfaces that will work just as well at half the price. I also suspect that I might get tired of the colors of the recycled glass, and I could add the colors that are attracting me, to the kitchen for much less with a couple of accessories. With the white ones I could change the colors as my mood changes which happens almost daily. Yay! I think I've talked myself into the white ones.
Very nice! smiling smiley Your kitchen is becoming what you want it to be. Huzzah! smiling smiley

CoffeeQueen, you can't go wrong with white, and using bright colored dishes like Pottery Barn's job makes it up to date. Received a ton of B-day meals and desserts, so will get my freebies this week. Stopping by Whole Foods to see the lowering in prices as Amazon is the new owner, prices are slashed....all about food today, with the exception of having my Plumber out within the hour.

Had a busy few weeks so I am catching up on the forum. Irene, I'm glad you are feeling better and Coffee Queen, glad your kitchen is coming along. What a room to be without for so long.

Do report back what you find. In my newspaper today, they specifically mentioned reductions on eggs, salmon, avocados, kale, and almond butter. Most of those I already have a good source for, but I stopped buying WF almond butter a few years ago because of price. Would be nice to go back to it.

I am trying to contain my happiness because the morning job gets a significant improvement tomorrow. This is a huge relief! It means more money in less time and with less capital. It makes it more than worthwhile to get up at 1 am. I wanted the morning job to be this way a few years ago, but that did not happen.

Finally, the primary job is the way I think it should be, and I am thrilled! *does a few cybercartwheels on the way to the cyberdoor*

The "Washington Post" shopped a WF on Friday and again on Monday and compared the prices for many items. You can find it on line.
